Very well organised and nicely written with an excellent depth and breadth of subject matter. This book is a "must have" for any anaesthesiologist or anaesthetist sitting examinations.

This text book is an excellent reference for epidemiologists and health professionals who need to establish surveillance systems. The text book takes the beginner by the hand and explains what to do (what are the essential tasks required to decide, what data do you need to collect, and what for what specific purpose you might use it) and how to do it (steps to take and considerations in management of systems and quality control) and how to make sense of the data you've collected (data analyses).

Not only is this text for beginners, but also for seasoned epidemiologists and other health professionals who are branching out into disease surveillance. I endorse it wholeheartedly.

As a practising Pathologist I find Silverberg very useful for reference. It is a must for any Pathologist

This extensive read is a broad brush stroke for the reader who is looking for a landscape portrait about the man as if it were written by him personally. The book begins coverage tracing his pre-history origin shedding light on the beginnings of his psycological make up then on thru his living influences leaving the reader with a good understanding of Winston and his personality as Winston lived it. Suffering thee, as he puts it "The Black Dog" for most of his life it becomes clear to the reader that he did live his role in life beyond just satisfying his personal ego (unlike most politicians), though his ego was not anything small it did gain it's personal satisfactions and it's blows.

Much like his life the book is long and never boring.

I co-ordinate medical students in a clinical psychiatric setting and they all rate this book as 'the' definite book on the subject. Buy it now !!!!!!

This book was a fun way to start the younger ones out with true life lessons that incorporates friendship, hard times, and some morals in life that we could all learn from.
