Basic and clinic courses in books and atlas

This is not the most comprehensive book on the subject, but you may be more likely to read this very accessible and simple book than a 300 page volume. Helpful information the novice can understand for finding or building shelter against the elements, building fires with or without matches, signaling for rescue help, finding water and making it safe to drink, getting food from native vegetation, emergency ways to fish, hunting or trapping, and other useful material.

Overall a great book for a camper of any level experience, extremely useful for new campers. The basic essentials series are terrific little books small enough to bring with you and reference. Long enough to provide everything you need to know about a particular topic such as wilderness weather, first aid, outdoor cooking, or backpacking, yet short enough to keep you from reading too much extra and unnecessary stuff. Camping can be dangerous even for the most experienced, things happen. You need to be prepared and this book will help you, in addition I recommend everyone take a Red Cross Basic First Aid class. I also you reccommend you pick up the book "Basic Essentials Wilderness First Aid" to add to this one. These two books from the same series may just save your life someday.

An efficient 80 pages in length with very helpful illustrations, paperback in a small size good for packing. This is a good book to keep a copy in your car trunk as well. I highly recommend this and others in the series.

When I was a medical student, I was frustrated by the lack of a good source for learning the things that I somehow seemed to be expected to know on the first day of my surgery rotation, in particular how to tie good knots of an appropriate type, reliably, quickly, and almost automatically.

This wonderful little book fit the bill admirably. Several of my friends at other medical schools subsequent bought it and thanked me for the tip.

A nurse anthropoligist writes about the "intimacy of nursing". Every nursing faculty member and student needs to discuss this book. Nurses provide personal and oftern intinate care to strangers, people they may know from their communities, and people who may have personal power. The ethos of nurisng requires the nurse to be professional, alert to issues of confidentiality, and compassionate. This is the only book I have ever read on the subject - and it handles the subject fairly and with dignity. As a nurse educator, I recommend it to colleagues and students

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia by Perinchery Narayan (Editor) is a very thorough, detailed work containing a multitude of articles from a variety of well respected physicians worldwide. Highly recommended.

Michael Adams has taken a complex medical issue and made it understandable for people with limited medical training. His use of diagrams and graphics is flawless. What was once a mystery is now explained visually in a manner that makes sense.

Having been a sufferer of bipolar disorder since early childhood this is the best book I have read on the subject.

It is easy to read and dip into as it is laid out in questions that would interest any manic depressive and those caring for them.

The advice shows a real understanding of bipolar disorder and an overall grasp of a very complicated disorder.

I would advise any one who is affected by bipolar disorder to read it.The book is full of common sense yet tackles detailed treatment.

Very interesting overview of the history of England, including the Roman and Norman conquests up to Richard III.
