I was moved to tears the first time I read it. It's just so beautiful, so passionate, so touching. It puts the Word of God in the soul of even the most despicable unbeliever. And for the believers--this book is a special treat.

A Must Have!! Outstanding!

Incredible account of the history of one of America's most historic towns. Beautifully written and informative. Captions are especially well-written, particularly the portions on education and organizations.

I purchased and read this book because I hoped to brush up on my knowledge of American history. However, I learned much more than that, and recommend this as an irreplaceable supplement to any study of the history of the United States of America.

This book captures the essence of a small town's famous place in history.

This is a definite A+, 10 out of 10, and I highly recommend it to all professors and instructors as an addition to a curriculum.

A New Emerging Technique
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2007-02-19
The science, or perhaps art, of data mining has received a lot of notice in the business world as ways to do specialized marketing to previous customers. In this book editors Wong (Harvard Medical School) and Li (IBM) have collected a series of chapters on the application of data mining techniques in the field of life sciences.

The particular applications showing promise include:

bio-surveillance
disease outbreak detection
high throughput bioimaging
drug screening
preidtive toxicology
biosensors
and more.

This is a brand new field offering some tremendous opportunities to provide for finding breakthroughs in the identification of problem areas within the normal data being collected for other reasons. This book is the first to discuss this cutting edge technology, still in the formative stages, but rapidly moving into the main stream.

ALOHA Where You Like Go?: From Survival to Satisfaction by Honolulu Taxi

Anyone who loves Honolulu - or would like to - should read this sweet, funny little memoir of a "local girl" whose family represents the history of 20th century Hawaii (and modern Korea!). Accessible and valuable. Glenda's world travels as a young girl are a wonderful arm-chair journey. See her other book(s) as well!

First book to read on linear systems
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2004-07-02
I first read this book in 1989 when I was in college. Like every college kids, I hated this book, talking about all kinds of boring maths and definitions and theories which were meaningless and useless to me.

Surprisingly after 15 years, being a system architect of wireless products in the semiconductor industry, I still find myself going back to this book from time to time in search for answers to some fundamental questions.

I would strongly recommend this book for the topic of general linear system analysis.

This book is wonderful in its simplicity. Asian cooking is very different from the European cooking style which I am familiar with. I have always shied away from cooking Asian food because I found their methods so difficult. With this book's step by step instructions, and easy to come by ingredients it is simple to create wonderful meals my entire family enjoys. I recieved this book during the Christmas holidays from my son and enjoyed it so much I ordered two more for my friends.

The Art of Diplomacy
Helpful Votes: 9 out of 10 total.
Review Date: 2000-03-13
This is an authoritative analysis of one of the most turbulent periods in U.S.-Korean relations and an enlightening memoir by one of America's top career ambassadors and China experts. After a somewhat slow introduction (probably necessary for readers short on historical knowledge), the book marches along smartly in an exciting first-person narrative filled with dramatic events, struggles of will, and diplomatic efforts to save a flawed American policy, to foster democracy abroad, and to save the life of a foreign statesman. Should be read by all interested in the art of diplomacy, the Korean transition to democracy, or the practice and limits of U.S. influence.

As a guide for neutrino physics, this book does it's role very well. Whoever studied a basic quantum field theory can read it without much problem. It contains not only formulas but also many numerical data and graphs. Study neutrino with this book and join the great tide forward the truth of nature.
