Chang Books

I just received this book over the weekend and it's too good to be true!
Not only does it look fantastic, with amazing photos (I'm keeping it on my coffee table), it really is a result oriented cook book- everything turns out just as the recipe says it will. These guys sure know what they're doing, and outcome is some of the best desserts I've made in years.

I'm giving it to everyone for the holidays...

So far, I have made 4 items from this book and all have been top notch. Instructions are extremely clear and easy and this book would work well for those who are very experienced and also for those who are just begining working with pastry/baking. I am an ex-pastry chef and now just bake for fun. I have many favorite books, this is on its way to joining that list! Absolutely Delicious.

This book is a Vietnamese recipe book. It contains the author's favorite Vietnamese recipes. Many of the recipes are new, and many of them are also found within Foods of Vietnam.

I make many of these recipes over & over. The chicken and mint salad is outstanding even without the chicken. An excellent nuoc cham. Another favorite is Vietnamese-style scrambled eggs. Yum, yum, yum.

Mr. Rodrigue has done it again. "A Blue Dog Christmas" is not only filled with wonderful pictures of his newest Blue Dogs, but it is also a heartwarming story that brought back some of my own childhood holiday memories. It is a fantastic book for adults as well as children, good for bedtime reading.

if you love french cooking and impressionism, this is your book. it's one of my favorite cook books in my collection. a word of caution, the ingredigents used in some of the recipes may not be found in all areas of north america. i brought my copying several years ago while i lived in toronto, so i didn't have too much difficulty finding ingredients. in sum,the cook provides a wonderful artistic cullinary journey. the book still can be found bookstores. i found few a few copies at borders six or seven months ago on the discount table. the book is well worth searching for!!!

Um. . . I know this book is not out of print cause a friend of mine bought it a few weeks ago and I just ordered it from Barnes and Noble, since they have it. It is available! I guess you just have to find a company with a more complete stock!! This is an awesome book and I would highly recommend it.

Very interesting book for a child. Gives non-fiction historical facts that children can relate themselves too. Very recommended.

A story of a chinese boy living with his grandfather at a mining camp during the gold rush. Chang is lonely and wants a pony so he would have a "pengyo" a friend. This story delicately discusses the hurt a person feels when they are made fun of for being culturally different. Chang's idea of panning for gold to earn money for his dream horse doesn't pan out, but honesty and hard work does. A wonderful story that will educate and entertain your child.

This book captures some of the best dishes that have come from Angela's kitchen -- dishes that rival the best of French and Italian cuisine in their own special way. I haven't yet tried any of the recipes in my own kitchen, but I expect that Angela has discovered and passed along every labor-saving technique that doesn't detract from the overall quality of the dish. My toddler would "read" this book without words over and over and over again. It's a no-brainer. Buy it.

Kids will love the unique pictures. It is such a fun way to teach colors and how to mix them and make other colors. The last page of the book is adorable! My kids are older now, but I pick up Monique Felix's books when ever I can.
