Carter Books

This is a book that has been in the process of being created my entire life. For it is the experiences that I enjoyed, suffered through, memorized, endured, overcame and loved that gave me the material from which this book was derived. I have been in the depths of despair and survived due to the grace of God, my family and my friends. I have also been to the heights of ecstasy, also due to the grace of God, my family, my friends and those who chose to love me. In my mind I have also been to the mountaintop and have seen that our world as it exists today is not the final chapter in the history of mankind. I have seen the possibilities that lie ahead for us all over the rainbow. I have seen the possibilities and I know that it is up to all of us as fellow human beings to turn those possibilities into concrete realities. I know that if we all work together as one family, as one race, as one country that we can make it work. For I have seen what lies just over the rainbow waiting for us once we have done our part to raise the bar for all of mankind. Let us all begin each day anew with the intent of getting one step closer to crossing over the rainbow. I intentionally began this book with the final poem from Poems from the Edge, because to me it is imperative that God be the guiding hand behind all of my endeavors.

"Painting Indiana" is an awesome collection of art.A must for anyone interested in fine art. My dad is Dan Woodson and his artistic ability is way beyond anything I have ever seen.

This is a good review, by Fern Sidman, of an atrocious book by former American President Jimmy Carter, a man I am ashamed to admit that I voted for.

Sidman accurately calls Carter's book "a one-sided, totally skewed and highly subjective piece of Arab propaganda." And she makes a good point when she reminds us that Carter devotes quite a bit of time to complaining about Israel's security barrier. After all, I think it does not take much wisdom to realize that this barrier serves two useful purposes. First, it saves lives, by reducing the number of suicide bombing attacks directed against Israelis. And second, when someone does manage to get past that barrier, it is unlikely that they can claim to have crossed it unintentionally!

My own feeling is that those who strongly oppose the security barrier probably are unhappy about the fact that it is saving lives. Sidman is more than justified in saying that "Carter displays no understanding or sympathy for Israelis whose lives have been snuffed out" by the terrorists.

Sidman concludes that Carter's book is an egregious attack on Israel and the Jewish people. I agree. And I recommend this review of Carter's book.

Ms. Riggs has a rare talent for thought provoking characters and story lines. In THE PARENT PLAN, she explores the faltering marriage of Cassidy and Karen Sloane. Karen, working long hours at the Grand Junction hospital, is a dedicated, strong woman. Her husband, Cassidy, a rancher, is equally strong. But he wants Karen to stay home with their daughter, Vicky. Of course, it's more than that. Cassidy's dark past haunts him and ultimately makes him drive Karen away. On the threshold of divorce, he finally comes to terms with all his childhood terrors and realizes what he stands to lose. Karen can't understand Cassidy's dislike of her career but she won't give it up. Like so many women today, she wants it all - home, family and career. Yet if she wants to keep her family together, she has to find a way to compromise.

Ms. Riggs undoubtedly creates the best 'tortured' heroes of any writer in the genre. They may be gruff, grim or downright stubborn but there's always a core of innocence inside them that appeals to us on many levels.

MR. GLOVE is an amazing thing. Never would I have thought to use a glove in this manner. A must read for all that write pen pals or friends.

I know Dean and I know he needs the money.

Absolutely invaluable for anyone serious about planning their financial future!

After discussing the importance of leisure and defining the term, this book looks at leisure from a historical perspective, it's importance in human development, and the role of leisure in community and the larger society. The last 50 pages are exercises that correspond to each on the 20 chapters.

I teach struggling readers. Even my most reluctant readers can't get enough of these books. I highly recommend them. I will be buying more to use in my classroom.
