Completely Indespenable Addition to your Library
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.

A Completely Indespenable Addtion to your Occult / Astrological Library . From A to Z it goes through every possible facet of ones behavior, skills and it even covers diseases and breaks it down into certain groups within the planets/houses/zodiac. Time and time again I will use this to reference peculiar behavior patterns within certain aspects of the zodiac.

Example 1:

Cowardice:

Cowardice is due to a lack of Mars ray and a preponderance of Moon or Saturn Or Both, badly placed. Moral Coawardice is chiefly due to a badly placed Sun or Saturn, where as these planets are strongly locatedstregthen the moral standards of the native. Its is probable to that most cowards, or those that aquire that name, have a predominance of mutable signs. He goes on to give an eample of a person thereof .

Example 2:

Critical Powers (or Faultfinding) :

Critical powers are commonly found in Virgo , which instinctively seeks to analyse and sift. Often this sign displays to critical a nature for its own happiness or popularity; andwhere the malefics are prominently placed but weak, there is often in evidencea distinctly carping and fussy tendancy, unable to resist universal fault-finding. Tendancies not altogether different are often found, however, Uranus is prominent but afflicting, and where there is a strong Scorpio element: both planet and sign are liable to feel ill-used or ill-appreciated, and then give way to bitter and savage feelings towards others. This, however, is an emotional rather than mental phenomenon, and therefore can hardly be called criticality. In literary critics we oftern find, besides Virgo, that the sings Libra (Comparison), Scorpio (Irony), and Sagittarius (Satire) are prominent.

This book is not only a great sourcebook of recipes and physical techniques for rejuvenation and exercise, but is a tribute to the effect that great design and use of color can have in making something memorable and fun to read. It is a pleasure just thumbing through it and even more so that the information is so substantial. It is divided into categories underscored by specific vegetarian recipes and moves from yoga, Chinese internal exercise, and some Pilates. It is like several books combined and makes an economical alternative to getting a whole stack of related items. Definitely worth buying!

This was a great book. I found this text very useful in managing the EB patients I have encountered in the past two years as a medical resident. The book was very comprehensive, detailed and relevant to the clinical management of patients with this complicated and serious disease.

This book is an in-depth look at the development of one quilt artist, Erika Carter. In the introduction on page 6 Rick Gottas of the American Art Company says, "Few works of art are more satisfying to see installed than Erika Carter's fine art quilts." Behind these words is a picture of a gallery show revealing four of Erika's quilts. The effect is amazing, more beautiful to the eye than almost any gallery show I have attended.
Erika's style is incredibly painterly in style, to the point where on her latest quilts I have to look hard to see how she's achieved her results with fabric. Her designs are colorful, but as the years go by they become progressively more subtle. It's fascinating to watch as she moves from traditional patchwork to strips of trapezoids, delicate lines suggesting trees and grass until her most recent and incredibly delicate work with the softest of colors.
Although the book contains no how-to instructions, any quilter interested in art quilts will gather ideas. This is the sort of book to keep by the bed or bath, to study at leisure.

Wouldn't do study abroad without it

I bought this book as a last minute purchase - I wish I had bought it earlier as it included a lot of information in selecting a place to study overseas, plus a lot on how to pack, what to take and a really good overview of the university system in Britain. I took the book with me and it was in daily use in the first few weeks as me and my new friends tried to figure out how to open bank accounts, where to go shopping, how to phone home - all those things you never expect to be different in a country that speaks the "same" language - but where things are just done differently. It really helped me settle in much faster and get more out of the experience - even suggesting what to expect on your return home.
I would certainly recommend this book to anyone going on study abroad to Britain.

Everything you need to know (no confusing details)

It an excellent book for all veterinary medicine students as well as DVM.The style is very simple which is important for every book of such nature( in other words you don't have to read it again and again just to understand what authors wanted to say).Bacteria chapter is specially well written although Fungi and Introductory virology don't lack far behind.Speaking as veterinary medicine student I would like to see more photos. As students usually listen to Infectious diseases after microbiology it wouldn't be bad to put a photo of animal having certain disease so students can connect the two(microorganism and the disease)more easily.Pathogenesis is described for every microorganism but at this level students don't always understand it completely. Although it's not extremelly detailed it containts everything from morphology, immunity, serology, treatment, disease, identification etc. If you don't plan to specialize microbiology it's everything you need to know.
