I tried all the other "how to get a job" books. They were all a waste of money until I bought this book. A concise, easy to read, but very essential book that gets down to the "nitty-gitty" of how to get a job. Team up the book with a visit to the Career Forum on Compuserve where Irv and the career counselors give wonderful advise and support along with weekly on-line seminars and you have the best tools for finding a job. It is a "secret weapon."

I have been out of work for several months. I would rate this as the very best book on how to land the job you want. At first I didn't agree with what I was reading. About half way through I got it! If you follow Mr. Zuckerman's method EXACTLY, You will get a job! I did and it was less than 60 days. I wish I had read the book when I first became un-employed rather than eight months later.

I would reccommend this book for anyone in their 20's or 30's especially, anyone who has ever felt alone, anyone who has ever almost wanted their parents to catch them doing something they shouldn't - just so they could talk, and anyone who has ever asked "does God even care that I exist?"
Betty Smartt Carter has my respect and admiration for sharing so courgeously! This book deserves to be read! I wish I was rich enough to stand on a street corner and give copies away! Don't miss it.

This is a book that I would recommend to just about anyone. Not only is Betty Carter down-to-earth, she is incredibly funny! I don't normally laugh out loud while reading, but several times I found myself shaking in my chair trying to contain my laughter.
Her honest account of her own struggles proves that there is hope for all of us.

Marshele gives such insight and hope with this book. She has been there and it shows. I had so many "yep, that's exactly right" moments while reading. There are so few books for military wives written from a Christian perspective that it is refreshing. Our life group for military spouses at our church is reading it now. I would highly recommend it and the Bible study also. You won't be disappointed!

...of hurting my sides at all the great jokes in his book!
This book is an easy-to-use and fun-to-use guide on the law. It doesn't cover everything, but it's not supposed to. But what it does cover is well-written and entertaining, something that's tough to do with any law book.

Eddie Murphy meets Alan Dershowitz and the result is funny, insightful, and informative. In Sean Carter's writing I found that all too elusive alchemy--a work that is so funny and entertaining, you don't realize how much you're learning. I certainly wish this book was available when I was in law school. The book provides a solid basis for lay people and a refresher course for lawyers who took the Bar Exam more than three weeks ago. The genius of Mr. Carter's book is his use of comical and off-the-wall examples from the headlines to explain the law. Unlike the dry, bland, moribund classical examples of law school (with names like Greenacre, Mr. A, Mrs. B...), Mr. Carter fills his examples with identifiable people and places--O.J., Pamela Anderson, George W. Bush, etc. I hope he has a good attorney to represent him when the defamation suits start.
...
I highly recommend this clever opus.

Through the medium of photography, Carter renders the human form in breathtaking detail, capturing the inner soul of people by avoiding salacious or prurient poses. His mastery of his craft is reflected on every page of artful beauty. Each image challenges his audience to search further into the depths of mankind. A remarkable job. Thank you, Mr. Carter

I have been coming back and back to "Illuminations" for many months. There is a surpassing beauty to the images and in the uncomprimising way in which they have been selected and printed. The text adds a useful dimension, including the "illuminating" foreward by the curator of the Getty Museum, who has spotted an obvious (so far relatively undiscovered)future major figure in photography.

There are no countries with out tragedy. We have our own today. Perhaps Indonesia has had more than its share. This is a remarkable book. Fifty essays, 125 photographers, 500 historical photographs. No book published exists like it on such an important subject as Indonesia. I have travelled extensively through Indonesia and I am never ceased to be amazed at the kindness of the people and the beauty of the country even against such odds.

In this book Dr. Thompson shows how the Bible as a book is God's adaptation to man's need. I especially appreciated his explanation that the Bible is analogous to a casebook rather than a codebook, designed to address practical questions.

If you are a thoughtful person and a reader of the Bible, you have probably come across some pretty tuff stories to digest. Thompson tackles these tough issues with an honest perspective. He also deals with questions about how we should regard the inspiration of the Bible, which is an ever pressing issue among most Christian denominaitons.

Written by Ant in journal form. As he grows up, he rotates through all the different jobs in the ant colony and writes about and illustrates his experiences. From stroking an aphid to get the honeydew to fighting off a ladybug attack to rotating eggs in the nursery to rebuilding the nest after a flood, this book will keep you interested and amazed. My daughter loved this book when we got it for her at age 6. At 9, it still fascinates her.

My 7-year-old son just loved this book. He got it a couple of days ago and asked us to read it to him several times. Now he reads it to us. He is just so fascinated with it. It has prompted him to draw his own pictures of ants and other insects that are written about in the book. It is told in interesting way that is well illustrated, easy to understand and lots of fun to read. My son just loves to read it over and over again. I highly recommend it!
