The courage of this beautiful lady to even publish such a book is fantastic. Her portrayal of that very difficult time in Chinese history without rancor, but with great forgiveness and love, is very encouraging for Christians everywhere. I only wish I could speak to her personally.

A unique perspective on China during this century.

Ms. Duan's life and book are a testimony to the incredible uphevals that have occured in China during this century. From the perspective of a Chinese Christian, Ms. Duan has written a book that integrates her culture and her faith. This book captures the life of a unique woman who has lived a humble life and provides the reader with a window into Chinese life. Definitely a book both to inspire and inform.

A wonderful story of a faith journey in difficult situations

This book is most inspiring to those of us who live in a world where we are free to believe and worship as we wish. Julia Duan endured hardships most cannot understand by exhibiting a strong faith through recalling hymns and scripture memorized years in the past. She can inspire us all.

This is a great reference book. It is very well detailed for each trip. I like the layout, easy to read, giving ratings for protected, moderate or exposed waters, place to put in. I highly recommend it.

Good book about the waterways of Puget Sound.

Lots of good trips, lots of tips about timing your trip with the tides for a more enjoyable and safe trip. Good list of saftey tips. No book is a subsitute for experience but with this on you are less likely to get into trouble. The Puget Sound region has a lot of good open water kayaking and this book covers a lot of that ground.

An excellent kayaking resource

This is the essential guidebook for paddling around the Puget Sound regions. It is one of those books that keeps getting updated every few years, so it is never too far out of date, which is important in our changing world. The marine environment doesn't change much, but access and facilities required to get and stay there do, and this book helps a lot with that.

This is a great book for the day paddler or the committed water traveler, since it rates the difficulty of each trip, lists places to camp and gives clear directions to launch and recovery points. It covers all the inland waters of the Puget Sound at some level of detail. Maps are a key feature of a book like this, and theirs are excellent. If you paddle the Sound, this book belongs in your truck.

Murder Bay Excellent Reading

Murder Bay is an excellent historical novel based both during the Civil War and the 1950's. It is a mystery with a bit of the supernatural included. The historical details of the Civil War are written so that you actually feel as though you are there experiencing the events. The characters are easily identified with and well developed. The transition from one era to the other is well done and easily followed. If you enjoy a good mystery, I highly recommend this novel. The bit of the supernatural is quite believable.

I just finished the book and thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked all the twists
and turns and the historical background information. I can see where it
could be a good seller and make a very interesting movie. Once I start this
type of book I can't put it down till it's done. Now I can get back to my
real life. Thanks for giving me a number of enjoyable hours in fiction land.

I am usually not a mystery reader, more of a historical fiction kind of guy, but the book moves in and out between Civil War era and 1950s Washington D.C. This certainly satiated my historical cravings. The characters are so well developed and by the last hundred pages I was frantic to know how the mystery ended. Great book and I'll look forward to more books from this series!

The story starts out as the Three Investigators are on vacation. They are bored and are looking for any adventure that might come along. When a young boy disappears with his dog, the boys are hot on his trail until they find the Dog dead in a trash can.......

Hi, I loved this book! It is about a little ,curious boy who gets lost. He gets lost during the 4th of July parade. The 3 investigators are looking everywhere in Venice(the police too)where Bob's report brought them. Pete encounters a shark underwater. This book is not about a live mermaid.I thougt this book was going to be horrible!!The kids dog is found dead in the trash can!!I LOVED THIS BOoK!!

I really enjoyed this book because I had a hard time on deciding on who was the bad guy. The characters also teased each other so you feel sorry for one, but good when he got the other back. I really don't see why anybody can rate this book a one. I highly recommend this book to you even if it's below your reading level! It makes me want to read all of The Three Investigators books!

I had the opportunity to read "Rat Race Rleaxer" one recent Sunday afternoon and although I have found other self help books to be informative, this one seem to fit into many aspects of my life at the moment.

Instead of being long and drawn out to make the author's point, "Rat Race Relaxer" was consise and brief. The points that the author wanted to get across were apparent and not filled with excess fluff. I was able to read its entire content in just an hour so that I could grasp its message before putting into use some, if not all of its suggestions.

I now find myself remembering comments or points within the book that relate to current situations in everyday life. I will be using the author's recommendations as they apply to me. For the reader looking to gain some insight into existing within the rat race, this will do it without coming off as preaching.

I first encountered this book as a textbook for a class taught by Dr. H.P. French at Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY. He used the book for a history class entitled "History of Reincarnation". The class was a combination of history, comparative religion, and philosophical thought and it was positively fascinating. I have re-read this book many times over the years, and I refer to it frequently. Whether you believe in reincarnation or not, I think this is essential reading on the subject and it will help you to understand the various perspectives on the idea of rebirth after death. The authors cover everything from Zoroastrianism to Hinduism to modern Western thought on the subject. This will be a wonderful addition to your library.

This is not just a book..it's an experience that takes the reader on an incredible journey through time and history..and beyond! It's about humankind and its fantastic, diverse spiritual development through the ages, but at the same time also about each and every one of us personally, whoever and wherever we may be.
The writing is so clear, the content so spell-binding and the consequences so mind-boggling I was profoundly immersed in it for weeks.
Sorry Amazon, this one I'll keep forever..to start re-reading soon!

I read Stlylemakers:inside fashion. I found the book fascinating in that I never knew there are so many people and personalities involved in a fashion company and its brand. The book is one of the most informative books I have read. It is a great guide for students going to fashion schools or entering the industry. Also, it is a fun book to read!!!

This book was a gift to me from someone who knows I love fashion. But loving fashion does not automatically mean understanding the creation of fashion--as I learned from this book. The book educated me to the great complexity beyond just designing and marketing. (And I thought I knew...)
The vignettes, bio's and photographs were exciting and fun.
This is a great book for anyone who loves fashion. And a great book for anyone who wants to peer into the hip & fast world of stylists, forecasters, editors, etc. The visuals of the book are beautiful. It now sits on my coffee table--and always gets comments.

This book of Sudoku is great for young children ages 4 or 5 through 6 or 7. They start understanding the rules for Sudoku and seeing patterns. This book includes extra stickers in case of a mistake. Children of the appropriate age love these books. It is too bad that the stickers are not coated with Post-it-Note glue instead of the permanent type. The book goes fast, and then you have to buy more books.

This is a really fun book, however you need to take into consideration the age appropiate level. Don't hope that a younger child will "Catch on". The puzzels increase with difficulty. My 8 year old Granddaughter loves Sudodu.
