Carey Books

I've been using this book on and off for over 25 years now, and it is still the best reference I've found for beginner candle makers, and those making candles "on occasion". --- Follow the steps and you'll have nearly perfect candles every time! Even the fancy candles are easy to make and turn out beautiful and functional.

My son is in kindergarten and just won't put these down. He can solve most of them himself and really enjoys working out the patterns and solutions. Each puzzle is slightly different enough that the same strategy won't work every time so it keeps him on his toes, but he enjoys figuring it out

This was a wonderful book about two very different grandmothers who had some of the best qualities that a grandmother can have. This is a great read for anyone who is or has a grandmother.

This book is an outstanding addition to the small but growing canon of literature on term limits. Carey clearly and successfully limns this complex issue. This is a rigerous academic book with important real world conlcusions: a good read for serious scholars and politicos alike.

If you have read the Starseed Transmissions, or The Third Millenium:Living in the Posthistoric World, I would not read this book. The other books are a more direct revelation, whereas this book repeats many of the same things in more simplistic themes and under a more colored point of view. This is really a book for those of the Christian Religion who may be ready to "Taste And See That The Lord is Good". Ken Carey is excellent at explaining the intended meanings of creation found in Genesis, revealing the intended meanings of the Lord's Prayer and the Beatitudes found in the New Testement. The most profound revelation is his description of the Temptations of Christ and how these temptations relate to what we must overcome to reach our full potential. While he is excellent at leading one to read scriptures from a Spiritual point of view, one may still be led to perceive Christ as a physical entity that is to be worshiped more of as an idol rather than an archetype of what we are to become. Perhaps when this book was written, Ken was still struggling with reconciling the information he knew as truth with the vast Christian upbringing that encompassed his life. Or it may be that like the apostle Paul, he wanted to make the message palatable to those of the Christian faith so that they would at least drink or eat some of what he offered. This has led the book to appear somewhat disjointed with isolated pieces of partial truths that have been bound together in a somewhat unrelated fashion, and never fully developed. In any case, all of the world's religions have told the same story, and their symbols have been identical with one another throughout history. All will lead mankind to the glory that was intented by our creator in his mind's eye. I give this five stars, because if one has never read the other books that I have mentioned, this book will set you on the right path.

The power and simplicity of this model to explain quantum energy transitions, the fine structure constant, the constancy of the speed of light, the Big Bang, electron clouds in the periodic table, and gravity -- in a mere 28 pages -- made my jaw drop. Regardless of whether it's right or not, there's no denying the beauty of this theory. This book is a great example of science being yet another form of art, every bit as beautiful as Mahler's 2nd Symphony.

This is a wonderful story about a group of orphans. Your whole family will love it!

As a missionary I have experienced first-hand some of the struggles and challenges of missionary work. In this well researched and informative book, there are numerous valuable insights that would greatly benefit the senders, the churches, the mission agencies, and the missionaries themselves in lessening or preventing unnecessary attrition of the frontline missionary. If we are aware of the issues we can be proactive, rather than reactive, and perhaps reach the world with the message of Salvation as more effective and supportive missionary teams.
