The British publisher is the secondary publisher and indeed is out of print, however the US publisher, the William Carey International University Press, which is the primary publisher is not out of print. Swanson's Greek Manuscripts, Four Gospels, his Acts, and his Galatians are all in print in sizable quantities. Ralph D. Winter, Director, WCIU Press No publication in the world on paper or in electronic form presents the full text of the 45 most ancient manuscripts in one easy to read format.

A rare insight

Having read the thesis on which this book is based, I believe it provides a rare insight into the student experience of learning piano in a traditional conservatoire setting. It challenges widely held beliefs and offers suggestions for broadening the often narrow focus of this kind of study. Very highly recommended reading for those music teachers who are interested in positive outcomes for their students.

A wonderful evocation of flyfishing and landscape.

Review Date: 1999-11-18
NORTH BANK explores the patterns and the feelings of recreating a home place. After the author and his wife buy a home beside the Rogue River, he sets about discovering the locale--the hillsides, the neighbors, the rivers, the fly-fishing riffles. What began as strange landscape gradually takes on a familiar and valued quality. This book engages the process of rediscovery that we all experience, in some form, when we move from one place to another and set about putting down new roots. Because the author loves rivers and flyfishing, his particular process has much to do with the rivers and smaller coastal streams of the region. But there is more than fishing here. A wonderful read.

Mostly accurate depiction and descriptions of the college.
How about a photo or 2?

Here's an idea. Why not grant online access to the '08 version as a book purchase bonus. After all, the admissions/research process typically spans more than a single year.

Anyway...we're off to NU. Go Huskies!

A Golden Ray Of Truth
Helpful Votes: 8 out of 8 total.
Review Date: 2007-09-09
While this book was supposedly written for children, it is in no way meant for a child to read. It is a guide as to how to impart simple truths to our children. The origins and purposes of universal creations are explained in beautiful terms. Man's origin as an eternal spirit that has come to play, experiment, and participate in the ongoing stream of creation is intricately woven as parables and stories that illustrate man's unfoldment and the manifold witness of creation as to our origins and unltimate destiny. The roots of creation beginning in the Garden Of Eden in Lemuria are wonderfully expounded upon, whereas there is complete silence on the darker side and even the existence of Atlantis. This is befitting with Ken's ascertation that we are to concentrate on restoring beauty and order back into our universe. No need to concentrate on civilizations that have sought to impose self created destinies that have have benefited the very few, and destroyed the rest of creation in the process. We are still reeling from the false truths that have been built into empires and kingdoms ever since. Realizing that we are united as kindred spirits in our quest to return our world back to the Garden Of Eden is a hallmark of this book. Creation awaits our rightful claim to our heritage as loving rulers of this creation, and others to come. The time is fast approaching where this WILL and MUST take place. The physical earth cannot go on much longer unless this takes place. I recommend the purchase of this book to read in simplistic terms what the nature of the cosmos is, and who we are as spirits of light clothed in matter. The astounding realization that we are all simply reflections of one another is beautifully explained in ananalogy of mirrors. We can take take joy in seeing parts of ourselves reflected in the lives of others. They are bits of our own person united to us, yet functioning with a diferent focus. The lesson of the greater Sun has implications for our lives as well. This book has much to reveal to those who know and are seeking the truth.

Exceptionally well done; a delight for children of all ages

It is a charming book. Nubsy and her brother, Bullfrog, embark on an adventure to find Nubsy a poodle. Zia Grace has also included things like Dexter the turtle, who is hiding somewhere on every page. It is an entertaining rhythm and rhyming book, aimed at kids from 2 to 8 years of age but extremely enjoyable by "old" kids too. The story is delightful and the characters adorable. This is a book that adults will enjoy reading to and sharing with youngsters. To further enhance the desirability of this book, there is a web site at ziagrace.com which offers further activities in connection with the book, and more learning and enjoyment for the kids.
I cannot remember seeing a more delightful children's book.

Stand By for Adventure
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-03-08
Tom Corbett Space Cadet, originally a radio show, in the mid 'fifties broke out into eight books. They were hardback books aimed at adolescents, and like The Hardy Boys, Tom Swift and Nancy Drew books, were probably written by a syndicate of various writers writing under the name Carey Rockwell. They show more consistency than do the Tom Swift books, however, so they may have all been by one author. The books were packed with illustrations by Louis Glanzman, and invited on the back cover: "Calling all boys and girls to Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and all points in outer space. You too can be a part of the group of daring adventurers from the Space Academy who travel to mysterious lands in outer space on dangerous and exciting missions. It's a simple as opening a book... if the book is Tom Corbett, Space Cadet."

These books must be out of copyright, judging from the many paperback editions now available. Given that the hardbacks, with their full color jackets, are collector's items, this is a way to read the stories without tracking down the hardbacks. This edition has a color space- themed cover, not too many errors, and is reasonably priced. The print is easy to read even though the original 212 page hardback is here formatted as a larger, 136 page paperback. In my view, this edition is superior to those in which the publishers didn't even try to design a space- themed cover, instead simply opting for a pattern.

The stories in this series are very adventurous, and the characters heroic. They center around three cadets in Space Academy, Tom Corbett, Astro, and Roger, and their adventures in the Solar Guard. Even the bad guys don't cuss, and the good guys good- naturedly call one another names like "Venusian monkey," always in keeping with the outer space theme. The hardbacks carry an ad for the Rick Brant Science- Adventure Stories, which managed to be just as exciting while remaining earthbound. All of which testifies to the great writing from the 'fifties in these books, which will delight young (and older) readers of today. To quote the back jacket of the hardbacks, "Don't miss these thrill- packed books."
