Great bookReview Date: 2002-08-22
The book defitely has a twist in the end, which makes the book a good read. I wish Stella Cameron wrote more historical romances.
An entertaining readReview Date: 2000-02-27
Lindsey is so sweet and naive that everyone loves her. Edward is a cold fish with a bad reputation. (Is it deserved?) Lindsey is also a spirited girl so why does she let Edward get the best of her at times. Basically, though, she is really a neat character. Edward can be a insufferable tyrant at times and does not have a very high opinion of females (except his aunt). I would have murdered the guy and been hung before the conclusion of the book. Imagine him thinking he has suffered more than Lindsey because she is a woman! Talking between these two beautiful people would have solved alot of problems. But then it would half reduced the book by probably over half. Roger, Lindsey's stepbrother and a real nasty villian, was a nice touch. On that point, I can't imagine Lindsey allowing Roger to murder her real brother and not seeking justice. All in all, OBYT was an entertaining book. Cameron's best, I think.

Comprehensive & concise presentation of PeruReview Date: 2004-09-24
The opening page of this valuable text explains, "Peru's problems began with the intensely traumatic Spanish conquest of the sophisticated Incan civilization...the problems continued with a humiliating defeat by Chile in the War of the Pacific during the late ninteenth century...and the problems were especially evident in the volatility of Peruvian politics during the twentieth century." To this end, since 1919...no Peruvian political regime...neither constitutional nor de facto...has endured for more than twelve years, according to the authors.
Without a doubt, the regime of General Juan Velasco Alvarado (1968-75) was responsible for introducing the most radical social and economic changes in recent Peruvian history. However, the sensational rise of Alberto Fujimori (a self-professed political outsider) from the ashes of the Peruvian party system and the "authoritarian style of rule" implemented by President Fujimori will naturally captivate the attention of many readers of this text.
Still and all, the dismal experience with President Alan Garcia will also generate considerable attention. Nevertheless, this special collection of tier-one academic essays will clearly demonstrate that Peru has a unique three-party system with a very strong center and two extremist tendencies on the left and on the right. Best NLP bookReview Date: 2006-09-10
And as an introduction to each chapter, Lankton narrates a story of a young man that aptly parallels the content of each chapter, so for a quick introduction or review of what goes on in each chatper you can read that section of the story.
This book is by far superior to many of the NLP books that have come out since 1985. It is superior in its logical presentation, inclusion of both theory and example (short transcripts), and its overall presenation such that the reader learns how many apsects of NLP fit and work together in a comphrehensive system.

A Feast of Insight into Human Relatedness & SeparationReview Date: 2007-06-07
"Spiritual Traveler" is a powerful antidote to the corporate media and government misportrayal of the inhabitants of ancient and profoundly relevant Middle Eastern civilizations and invites us into recognizing that other people's human experience may be as rich, as loving, as human and as generous as ours - and that we can courageously and lovingly enrich our lives with others. "Spiritual Traveler" is full of enlightening insights into how the language which we use to describe others might also be limiting our experience of our earthly sojourn.
I recommend "Spiritual Traveler" without reservation. Read it and you too will want to open your heart to others in news ways, with new appreciation of the wonder that we are as human beings, as cultural participants, as lovers, as singers, as friends.

Pieces of EightReview Date: 2002-09-17
The reality is pirates didn't bury treasure, they spent it, some few invested it and retired wealthy, but the vast majority squandered their riches on booze and women. Never-the-less, the lure of money for nothing, just waiting to be dug up, will always have some pulling out a shovel and pick to go hunting. And let's face it, we all dream about it. P-)
For dreamers like meReview Date: 2003-01-28
He laughed and teased me, then, upon a return trip from Florida, he brought me this book, and old "treasure" map and some fake "tourist" treasure all to get me started.
I was completely fascinated by the accounts in this book. It is a couple of hundred pages long and each of the eleven chapters covers a different treasure. The book covers the history behind the treasure as well as accounts of people trying to find the various hoards hidden, it seems, forever. Or perhaps the treasure was never left behind in the first place, but the idea that "some" of it may still be there is enough to make any treasure hunter feel a bit driven to want to go and see for themselves.
This book is history and story, it is not in any way a guide to go looking for treasure nor do the authors give encouragement to the reader that if they are lucky and resourceful they might make history themselves. But for anyone interested in the history of some great pirate stories and modern accounts of treasure hunting, or for dreamers like myself, I recommend this book. It is fun and well written.
