Caldwell does it again! His cartoon P.I.s continue their struggle to defeat Madame Bleu, & perhaps make a down-payment on their bills

BTW--that's Madame Bleu on the cover, continuing the film noir tradition of the Femme Fatale Villainess. Which apparently involves her putting on a Vegas style show as part of the plot.

Caldwell is well worth your time & money.

Laughs, thrills & great cartooning.

Show me more of the Dare Detectives.

Desperate Voyage takes the reader on a wonderful journey of discovery. This true life adventure takes place at the close of World War II and details the trials and tribulations of the author in his attempt to return to his wife in Austrailia. When he finds there is no transportation available, John decides to sail a small yacht the 8000 miles to Austrailia from Panama. Never mind that he has never sailed a boat before! His challenges are many and John learns many things the hard way. This book, which is hilarious at times and sad at times, keeps the reader always longing to turn the page and see what happens next.

implausible but entertaining

This book was a flight of fancy that is highly entertaining. I found myself debating 'to sleep or not to sleep'. I carries a futuristic highly technically trained officer into a culture which has intentionally limited technology use without limiting the study and accumulation of that knowledge. Throughout the book the question of just what is human and why is interwoven between the interaction of the interlopers and their captors come allies. There are more than enough plot twists and suprises to keep anyone intrigued. It's the sort of story you know where it's going, mostly, but you surely don't know how the author will take you there. The parallels to the real Mongol Empire were interesting enough to have me seeking out historically accurate information about those times. A little heavy wading into the first part to get all of the background necessary but well worth the effort.

I have an original 1888 copy of this book, and did research on Elsie Leslie, the original 1888 Broadway star of the play(she was only 7!). This book will delite anyone, young or old. It shows the humanity of a man that really regretted being a thief. A great story, with wonderful morals (something usually not seen or taught these days). THIS IS A MUST READ!

I thank Wendy Williams and Ann Caldwell for complying these true stories of abortion and it's effect. The stories on adoption are an important part of the book and I am glad they were included. I also thank them for showing that the answer to the pain created from abortion can only be found in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am hoping that it will be read by many and that they will find this kind of healing in their own lives. For those considering abortion, please stop and read this book first.

HPB was one of the first pioneers to challenge our fundamental understanding of the cosmos and bring the mystery schools to light. This is an amazing collection of writings and well worth every penny to have all this incredibly profound intellectual and spiritual teachings under one book cover. A must have!

I'm currently studying with Joan Wall and these books are just incredible!! I've used these books in my own study and in my own teaching and they are a valuable resource! The set is divided up by book and by topic. Book 1 "Beginning the Process," Book 2 "Mastering the Fundamentals," Book 3 "Advancing the Technique," Book 4 "Becomming an Artist," and Book 5 "Managing Vocal Health." Each book contains both discussion and exercises on a given topic. It is very easy to read and is indexed very well. A must have for performers, teachers, and especially for students.

This book rocks! Reminds me of the V.C. Andrews type melodrama/scandal books. Well written, campy, and very trashy. Great for the housewife or soccer mom in your life. It's about a 19th century small town and this girl Maggie's marriage and the secret that haunts her all her life.

This book offers enlightening knowledge on how parasites are transmitted and how to prevent them from infecting you. This is a factual, eye-opening tale about Nematodes (parasites) that some people suffer with throughout the globe. This book is in poetic fashion with a glossary of terms at its end. It is creatively written and adds clip art and other pictures for a more pleasurable way to read. It is mainly intended for science at the elementary level but can be used as a reference guide for any age. If you have ever wanted to know more on parasites then this is the book for you.
