This being my first experience with reading a series of actual letters, I found that I had to keep reminding myself to stop
waiting for a plot, or character building, or any of the usual things one finds in a novel. Also, the book contains only
selected letters, leaving a sense of large gaps of time. These things made it difficult for me to get really involved in
the reading of this book; however, the editor gives very helpful tidbits at the beginning of each section: where and with
whom Jane was staying, and to whom various references were made. Extensive footnotes also help with the latter. If the best
mark of a book is that it makes the reader want more, then by all means this collection has done it's work: I definitely
plan on learning more about Jane Austen's life and times.

Wow, the Yeats-as-playwright is compelling. Unlike his poetry, it's very modern in its approach, but it will leave you wondering
what you were supposed to come away with - and perhaps that is enough!

From the back cover:
Seminars in neurosciences is a textbook covering all aspects of the nervous system relevant to psychiatry. It reviews fundamental concepts of structure and function as well as the applied clinical neurosciences, and is unique in providing this authoritatively in a single volume. As with other books in the College Seminar Series, there are many figures, diagrams, tables, and boxes to make the information accessible and more easily absorbed. The book will be of particular value to trainee psychiatrists studying for their Membership examinations, but will also appeal to established clinicians and psychologists interested in updating their knowledge of the fast-moving field of neuroscience.

The lushious paintings of John Bulter invite the reader into a story about Shadow and her 3 day old baby fawn. When Shadow
goes off for food and water, she pushes the head of the fawn down. Instinctively the fawn then knows he must keep low and
hide while his mother hunts. Unfortunately, mother fox Redflank was trying to provide for her young when she spotted the
fawn. Hearing the pheasant's call of alarm, Shadow speeds home and proceeds to attack Redflank, jumping on her with her long,
strong legs, hitting her with her hooves. Shadow indeed prevails, and life will continue for her newborn fawn.

Jim Fitzpatrick is a very creative artist. A lot of his focus is on ancient mythological stories. Some describe his style
as Celtic art. See also his Book of Conquests

"South Carolina During Reconstruction" is a fascinating read simply because of its age. Yet, this book is not for the casual
reader. The book is extensive in details and statistics, often to the extent of potentially losing the reader's focus. At
times, the authors also make contradictory statements on account of using sweeping statements on assessing Reconstruction.
After spending lengthy time writing of the many benefits of military rule, for example, the authors counter their own statements
several paragraphs later by mentioning that there were few benefits. More careful wording was needed to prevent the reader
from second-guessing the material. Clearly, if anything, this only proves how complex and confusing Reconstruction was.
The authors show that North and South both committed voting fraud, utilized violence and intimidation, and accepted corruption
within their governments. Any position on the benefits or failings of Reconstruction can be well argued from either point
of view. Simkins and Woody have produced a solid work and argue that the freedmen's attainment of religious and societal
independence were the biggest benefits from Reconstruction. Their detailed argument in support of this position is overwhelming.

I found this book to be exceptional in answering four questions about leadership, i.e., What Is Leadership? How Do You Lead
Another Person or Group? Where Does Your Leadership Take Place and With Whom? What Is The Power You Were Born With That
Makes Leadership Success Possible? The answers to these four questions will definitely put Leadership Success in the proper
perspective so as to make Leadership Succes highly achievable. Part II of the book is all about Behaviors that will help
anyone to achieve Leadership Success if they CHOOSE to do so. I loved this book and highly recommend it. I will never, ever
forget SPIZZERINCTUM and how it operates in one's life. Rhonda

Most children enjoy a story where they find themselves knowing more than the main character and this is the perfect one.
The main character, Stanley, a mouse, mistakes the moon riding low in the sky for a piece of cheese. This causes no end of funny moments that even my older children found amusing.

As a loyalist researcher and a reenactor in an organization that portrays the unit the book is focused on, i must state this
book is by far the best on the Butler's Rangers.
The book is well written, easy to follow, and is written with much emotion. The only major drawback is the author uses quotes without listing his refrences. This has made it difficult to find the sources he uses for some of his info.
Despite this drawback, the book was obviously well researched and is the benchmark on this subject.
