Must be the definitive book on traditional crafts in Scotland today - well written and insightful essays and fabulous photography.
Made me really want to go and see the places and the people who make these objects - also made me realise that some of the
crafts are becoming endangered species. I hope this book will revive interest - even as a travel book it's great!

"I lost a marriage and found a home./I lost a father and found a heritage./I lost a job and found a life purpose./I lost a
Son, but found myself and eternity." With the assistance of Pailsey Woodside, Deb Butler has compiled a small 125-page pocket
book of personal observations, journal commentaries, and poetry that helped her to deal with the tragic loss of her son. "The
Seasons of Grief: What Nature Can Teach Us About Loss" is nicely illustrated throughout with the color photography of Jane
Winkler, whose images are drawn from the beauty and tranquility of the outdoors. Living in Minocqua, Wisconsin, Deb provides
life coaching, counseling and transformational guidance augmented by her expertise in Transpersonal Psychology. Of special
note is Deb's 'Fall Visualizations: A Daily Practice', a step-by-step example of cultivating a coping mechanism for experiencing
and resolving deeply felt emotions. "The Seasons Of Grief" is an ideal gift for anyone having to deal with the loss of a loved
one and in need of the healing properties of nature in appreciating that life is 'cyclical and unpredictable, full and possible'.

This is a wonderful overview of the ways we try to communicate in secret. You don't have to be a PhD to understand the methodology
of the communication styles featured in the book. Recommended for anyone with a beginning interest in our "secret" history.

I have read the other two books in the Abbie, Girl Spy series and this one didn't let me down! Now that Abbie is growing
up, she is becoming an even more interesting character.
Girls who like adventure and a little of the paranormal will love Abbie Girl Spy. I think what I like most about this series is that the characters seem so realistic. Aside from the mysteries, Abbie deals with real life situations about growing up. Dealing with friends, her parents and impending womanhood are just a few!

As a hypnotherapist practicing in the U.S., this book is one of the best I've seen for explaining to the lay person the benefits
of hypnosis, particularly as an adjunct to traditonal medical treatment. I'd love to chat with the author. Excellent job.

Pesssoa is unique as a poet in that he generously scatters himself into the identities of three other people. The four heteronyms
dominate his character. He searches for objective truth.
Here is an excerpt.
have no ambitions and no desires.
To be a poet is not my ambition,
It's my way of being alone.

Yeats is one of the unquestionably great modern poets.
His poetry has a rich lyrical beauty, and a mystery of myth.
His memorable lines lighten all the anthologies of English poetry.
Whether he is 'lying down where all the ladders start/ in the foul rag and bone shop of the heart' 'or whether he is defining the moral torpor of the age ' the best lack all conviction and the worst are full of passionate intensity' or whether simply singing love lyrically ' And we will wander hand in hand/ through hollow lands and hilly lands/ and pluck till time and times are done/ the silver apples of the moon/ the golden apples of the sun/ he is overwhelming the reader with lines of incredible beauty.
His personal mythology vanity and story may not thrill, but his poetry invariably does.

Quotations that you read and want go back to again & again.

It's not often that you find a fictional work where you can read and re-read passages, and discover that they apply to moments
in your life that you thought no one could really capture the feeling of, or put into the appropriate words. Passages like
"She turned and walked away from him. Away from her dreams. Away from her hope for the future." Usually, I mark passages
I want to go back to only in philosophical and metaphysical readings. But here I find myself marking passages in fiction.
Or is one man's fiction another man's reality? This is a fast-paced book worth spending some time with.

This CD collection is an absolute joy. Mr Butler brings the sonnets to life with his clear elocution and his obvious understanding
of the verses. the sonnets are not easy reading. I have heard people say"They are incomprehensible" Not this rendition. Every
word has a meaning and Mr Butler makes sure we hear and understand each one. His"accent free"accent lends itself to this recording
and we progress, like a running stream thru the total collection, with every sonnet sounding as fresh as its predecessor.
Mr Butler's eloquence and Mr Shakespeare's writing makes this a winning collection for everyone, students, male, female, romantics
and lovers, young and old

I breezed through SHATTERED DREAMS due to its easy reading style, which I appreciate. I tire of books stuffed with fluff.
The characters seem real and the situations believable. I could not help but feel sympathetic towards some and disgusted with
others. Catherine Butler has created a tale about suburban life that most have had some or a lot of experience with, especially
those who know people who live their lives based on lies. Great read!
