Chris Butler in the space of 19 pages gives solid evidence for reincarnation. He offers real insight into this controversial
topic . In the end this little book serves as a great primer to his full length book reincarnation explained in which the
full science of identity is explored.
I encourage anyone to pick up this rare booklet...especially if you have ever wondered if there was something more to life than the series of moments that string us along until death...

Books don't get much better than this one. It is a true literary classic, that I highly recommend to anyone even the least
bit curious about Yates. It is, without a doubt, simply the best book I've ever read....not only that, it's probably the best
book ever published. Perhaps, the best collection of words on paper in the entire history of mankind. This book will make
you think! It's epic proportion is matched only by perhaps The Schastic Scriptures. The authour's genius is clearly present
from the very first sentence! Amazon only lets me give this thing five stars....I really think it deserves 5 million! Buy
it! Buy It Now! Buy one for you Mom, your Dad, your brother, your sister, your son, your daughter, your boss, your teacher,
your cousin, your aunt, your uncle, your bus driver, your coffee shop espresso server, your gas station attendant, your accountant,
your lawyer, your ex-wife, your president. Hell, even get a copy for your dog and cat!! You can't get enough of this book!

You don't have to be Catholic to get a lot of learning (and laughs) out of this book - you just have to a parent. James Kelly
taught, principaled (is that a word?), and administered in Catholic boys' schools for many years and, I believe, still does.
In the late 1990s he compiled seventy of his school-newsletter columns for this book. I happened to stumble across it, and
I know it can be hard to find, but it's worth finding if you have an adolescent male in your house.
In this book you won't read anything trendy; you won't find any snappy parental short cuts. But you'll read these letters and think, "How in the world does he know my kid so well?" The answer is, of course, a common-sense understanding of teenaged boys. For example:
"Most teenaged males are aspiring attorneys. They will argue with you about anything.... Please never be afraid to be your son's parent. If your son is an aspiring attorney, you are the judge and jury."
"More than he needs anything else, a teenaged boy needs to know that he is loved.... The next time you want to give your son something to show him that you love him, skip the CD player. Give him your time, your attention and a hug. He'll probably snarl at you and demand the CD player. He won't mean it, and he'll never admit that you've given him what he really wants."
"Do kids lie? Is the sky blue? Is God good? If Richard Nixon only had the sense to employ a teenaged boy to concoct his Watergate story, the man would have ended his term in office without having to resign.... Should we tolerate kids lying to us? Definitely not. Should we be surprised when they do? No, again."
"A boy would usually far prefer to make his job his first priority and his school work a distant second priority.... Enter farsighted mom and dad to put the brakes on Junior's ride."
"Isn't it a good thing that you didn't know how complicated raising children was going to be when you first decided to have them?"
I wish I'd found this book before my own sons grew up. I lend my copy out to friends who are wondering what in the world happened to their sweet little boys, and I always insist on getting it back so I can read it over again myself. I may have teenaged grandsons one day.

Common-sense conservativism
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 2006-06-21
Review Date: 2006-06-21
Keith Butler explores the reasons behind America's recent moral and economic decline and offers a common-sense, step-by-step
plan of action for everyday citizens to take our country back. Well-researched, compelling reading that never doubts that
America can and will live up to its ideals of being both a good and a great nation.
Keith Butler is a Republican who was elected to the Detroit City Council in 1989 despite the fact that 88% of Detroiters are Democrats. Although Butler is a core-values conservative, liberals will have a hard time disagreeing with Butler's cogent and insightful exposition of conservative principles.
Butler argues:
-How the harvesting of natural resources and protecting the environment need not be at odds
-Immigration reform that promises justice for all
-How "Pro-Life" is a woman-affirming stance
-How the flat-tax benefits the poor by untaxing them while eliminating the $700 billion wasted yearly simply on tax collecting compliance.
-Faith-based measures work. (Brazil's Humaita Prison has a shockingly low 16% recidivism rate)
Butler contrasts the exemplary civil rights record of the Republican party with the shockingly poor record of the Democrats in exquisite detail. Butler points out how the conservative values of Blacks make the Republican party a natural fit.
Puncturing liberal myths with measured reason, not malice, Keith Butler just may get his chance to be "Debbie Stabenow's worst nightmare on Election Day" as he promised in the First Senate Debate.
Most importantly Butler's philosophy is one of action, not words. His ministry has fed and clothed 100,000 people in just the last 7 years.

Rip's Secret Spot is a welcome addition to a great series of beginning readers. The words are appropriate and repetitive
without being boring, and the story is simple, but well received by young readers. I use many titles from Green Light Readers
as extra reading practice for students just past simple phonics readers and have found them to be beautifully illustrated,
attractive, and satisfying for this group.

I stumbled onto Rodney Graham's retrospective show at MOCA in LA four years ago, and it changed my life a little bit.
Graham's work is intellectually powerful; he is one example of an artist that will continually shed light on his own work through explanatory notes. This book covers Graham's earliest exhibited works and plows through steadily to about 2004. Attention given to the formative stuff is really valuable, since he got little recognition outside of Canada before the late 90s. I think the artist is really in the midst of his prime right now, so it's not yet possible for a comprehensive monograph... but this comes pretty close.

Oftentimes the star athlete makes a mediocre coach while the mediocre athlete makes a star coach. The old saw "He who can, does; he who can't teaches," does not apply to Quintilian. He reveals himself to be not only a star advocate, but an excellent coach as well.
This, however, is not the volume to purchase if you want to read Quintilian. The Loeb Classical Library has recently published a brand new five volume translation of this book under the title, "The Orator's Education."
