Although George Bush managed to secure a second term, this book is still as pertinent as ever! Plant Bush Back in Texas puts
the political reality of Bush's first term 'accomplishments' into perspective as we approach the 2006 Congressional elections
in November. Will this nation miss another opportunity for its citizens to reclaim "government by the people, for the people?"

The material in this book brings a chill to any semi-rational reader, and seeing all of the Bush-isms and information in one
place makes that chill even colder! A lot of this material we've seen but when you read page after page, you have to come
away from this astonished at the voting sense (or lack thereof) of the American people and terrified by the prospect of 4
more years.

I rated this book very high in regards to it's spirit of adventure. I found the book at a grocery store in Seward, Alaska
while on a road trip with my wife. I have given the book to several people now, who also enjoyed it terrificaly and I have
now lost track of it. I was so happy to find it here again at Amazon. Enough of me, now what about the book. Breifly,
it is about a doctor who likes to fly and decides to take-on a job in the 1950's in the Anchorage area of Alaska. He decides
to stay for the people and the opportunity for adventure- flying, trophy hunting and aid to the natives. The different
flying adventures are so unique and spellbinding that it's hard to put this book down.

Coming from both a physician and a pilot, I thought the book portrayed both endeavors very well. Moreover, as someone who
just enjoys reading, I thought it was unbeatable. The book was full of adventure and great descriptions of exciting (and
true) events. The writing style fit the topic and was pleasantly easy to read. Like the last reviewer, I have shared the
book with several friends, all of whom have similarly enjoyed it. I, however, have always gotten my copy back, because it
was autographed (just came that way from Amazon). Good for all ages young adult and above. Probably a nice gift for someone
who enjoys adventure, or who just needs something fun to read over a short vacation. Five stars here.

This is an extensive account of Graham's influence on many President's attitudes and/or actions and has been needed for a
long time. It is particularly appropriate in a time when so many mainstream religions seek to influence government actions.
They have lost sight of the importance our constitutional provision--separation of Church and State. It details many incidents
of the use of Graham's presence to provide endorsement for unethical decisions.

Billy Graham and civil rights

The title comes from Graham's support for every American war since Korea, but I found the civil rights material most interesting.
Cecil Bothwell portrays Graham as the political opposite of Martin Luther King and says the historical record does not support Graham's recent insistence that he was a friend of King's and of integration, pointing out that Graham "was absent from every civil rights march, rally or celebration over the years."
Sample paragraph: "Graham's frequent claims about King's approval are at odds with King's widely circulated exhortation from the Birmingham jail, in which he categorically condemned the position of clergymen who opposed civil disobedience, took them to task for obeying unjust laws, and spoke at eloquent length about the necessity for those of faith to demand change. He could have been directly rebutting Graham when he wrote, `You deplore the demonstrations taking place in Birmingham. But your statement, I am sorry to say, fails to express a similar concern for the conditions that brought about the demonstrations.' "
Bothwell notes that when King was killed 200,000 people attended the funeral. A long list of notables from every field came, the Academy Awards were postponed, and the start of major league baseball was delayed, but Billy Graham did not attend.
I found The Prince of War to be well worth reading.

I'm grateful to the authors for the significant advance in mediation thinking that this book represents. This new edition
has the potential to move the entire field toward a deeper, more powerful understanding. With the original edition, and again
with this one, Bush and Folger have provided great clarity to a topic that, until now, has been muddled. While other mediators
and writers succumb to the pressures of conflict and become part of the problem, these authors instruct us on how to remain
true to the most important principles that lead to deep healing of human conflict. If I had the need, I would only hire a
mediator who had read, studied, understood and embraced this book.

This newly revised edition of The Promise of Mediation offers a wealth of new information on the priniciples of transformative
conflict intervention. Many readers may not be aware that the revised edition actually contains almost entirely new material,
reflecting new understandings of transformative mediation that have developed since the publication of the first edition.
Bush and Folger offer new specifics for practice in the transformative framework of mediation through a carefully analyzed
case study, in which we can see details of the "small steps" of conflict transformation. They also discuss the impact that
the transformative movement has had on the field as a whole, and debunk some common misconceptions about the transformative
framework. I have especially enjoyed the last chapter, which addresses, more completely than anything in the first edition,
the deep underlying values that have led to the articulation of a transformative vision for mediation, and looks at possibilities
for the future of the field.
This is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone interested in mediation, conflict, or just the interaction of human beings.

Goytisolo continues one of the boldest adventures in modern literature with this eloquent journey into the world between life
and death where, according to Muslim belief, the soul lingers on its way to final judgment. Written in Goytisolo's hallmark
style of dark lyricism, in an intense, almost oratorical, diction, the novel transcends the possibility of its own genre
- it quarantines you the reader in a dark and fierce joy before releasing you into the questionable light.

I am an avid reader of this genre and I loved this book! It ranks as high as Harry Potter, Inkspell, Artemis Fowl, or any
other. Unlike those, however, this book gives readers a sense of moral and spiritual values that are lacking in today's society.
If youlike fantasy, you will love this book!

Dr. Bush's fantastic adventure story set in the magical land of Spectara is a charming allegory of modern day philosophical
development. Writing out of the Christian tradition, Bush tackles the daunting question of how one can confidently advocate
a single religious worldview in light of spiritual pluarlism. The result is a triumph that should capture the imagination
of a Roman Catholic, conservative Southern Baptist, Hindu spiritualist, or even an agnostic who is still searching for answers.
The people of Spectara face an evergrowing darkness which threatens to undermine the traditional values each culture holds dear. In order to save their world, each race contributes an ambassador, similar to that of Frodo Baggins and the Fellowship of the Ring. Throughout the journey, each ambassador learns that their perception of truth does not suffice when confronted with knowledge of foreign beliefs, and, more importantly, is powerless to stop the great evil engulfing their world.
When all hope is lost, a hero emerges to challenge the lies of the enemy and sacrifies his life to save his friends. Through this messianic hero, the remnant of Spectara learn that while each culture possessed some fragment of the truth, only the Author and Finisher of creation is the authority on truth, and the only hope of deliverance is to trust in his promises.
"Quest for Asdin" is a splendid adventure story and the magical land of Spectara pushes the human imagination to the limit. This is a book that demands color illustrations, and hopefully these will be included in future editions. Even in a genre as cluttered as fantasy, Spectara sets itself apart from conventional novels because the landscape is a giant prism of light. At a time when morality and truth are seen in shades of grey, "Quest for Asdin" synthesizes the confusion and paints a bright hope for tomorrow.

This is a fine work. The religious content is excellent. The book is well written and thorough without being pedantic.
Additionally, the reader gains knowledge of the history and societal trends that influence religious thought and religious
development. I consider this book a "must have" for anyone teaching or studying world religions.
