I had no idea just how much being able to keep a log of my violin practice times would help me! This book had everything to
do with transforming my practices from erratic sessions into consistent (and constant) organized work.
I'm proud to say I've been very succesful in all my musical endeavors as of late. I can't live without this book now!

This "Practice Log" is the best thing to happen to my guitar practice time in years! By sitting down and planning your daily
practice a week in advance, you set yourself up for a much more orderly practice time.
Yes, you could create a log for yourself. However, I bet that you would not think of all the little extras that are included in this one. One of those little extras is a laminated sheet to plan your week (on one side) and your next day (on the flip side) of practice. I suggest that you use permanent markers for things that do not change often (erase with rubbing alcohol) and use non-permanent markers for the things that change often (erase with water). That has worked best for me with less mess.
The graphs that you generate in the back of the log tell it all. If you are not putting in the time for practice, there it is in black and white. YOU see it and YOU know why you are not advancing as you might want. There is just something about graphing it out that makes it more obvious where the problems are. Speaking of which, there are sections to make note of what you feel your weak areas are and what your strong areas are. If you are working with an instructor, this information could be of use to them. If you are "self-teaching," it certainly tells you where you need to focus your future practice!
The instructions explain how to use the log in simple terms. This is a "tool" that would be useful to the beginner all the way to an advanced player. There are sections for you to "reflect" upon your practice over the past week/month/etc. There are also sections to make notes on ways that you think of to improve your practice or find more time for practice.
It will take you a week or two to get used to the system, but it is worth it. I saw significant improvement in my time management when I began using the log.
It would have gotten five stars instead of four if there were better goal-setting sections. Goals are implied by the material that you are scheduling into your practice, but I think that a section with weekly/monthly/yearly goals would be helpful. On the other hand, it is nice to have that separate since you may have a two-year or three-year goal for your musicianship as well, and each log book holds only 16 weeks of data. Having these goals written out separately may work out better. Besides you can print your goals out in big red letters and put them on the wall in your practice area to always keep them in sight! It is my humble opinion that you need daily/weekly/yearly/and long-term goals in order to stay motivated.
By the way, I use these logs for guitar practice, but I don't see any reason that they could not be applied to piano, voice, or any instrument.
You owe it to yourself to at least try one. It may work for you too! Besides, it is an inexpensive experiment and you may just find that you also enjoy using them.

This book was amazing! It has lycans, vampires and lots of sex with reason to be there and not just thrown in.
The book begins with Harlee, our female lead, being taken away from her home by two men who happen to be a lycan and a vampire. Harlee is told that she's the result of the love between a vampire and a lycan, and that her dominant side has yet to surface. Harlee, being raised as a human, thinks that this is all a lie, but as the story progresses she begans to see eye to eye with the lycans and the vampires. No need to say that the lycan and vampire that go with her to protect her are two hunks. Is also nedless to say that she has to have sex with the two of them at the same time in order to set free her dominant part and see if she's vampire or lycan.
All in all, is an interesting book, and easy read with a nice plot. I read one review in which the reviewer was wondering if there is gonna be a second part. I'm also wondering the same, because I have liked the book and also because there are some things I would like to see how they end, as the relation between Duncan and Annmarie, for instance. Also, there's some lose ends, as to what will happen to the job Harlee had before, or how are they going to free the lycans and vampires that are hostages of the government.

If the plot of this book doesn't hook you, then I don't know what will. We got werewolves, we got vampires and we got a woman
who works against them. Ahh, but not for long, the sex scenes in it are a 5 alarm fire just waiting to happen. Better have
a fan on and a VERY tall glass of ice tea nearby or you will go up in flames. I got to the ending and was wondering if there
will be a sequel. Man I hope so because this is so good. A must have read for all werewolf and vampires lovers, literally.

Harlee, in the middle of an erotically charged dream, is awakened and kidnapped by two men, Duncan and Adrian. She soon learns
that Duncan is a lycan, and Adrian, a vampire. Harlee can't believe it when they tell her she is half lycan and half vampire.
Undaunted, she searches for ways to escaper her captors. Little do her abductors know, but Harlee is a
government employee whose job it is to help discover the location of all lycans and vampires so that they can be destroyed. However, escape plans are soon put on hold after she becomes intrigued by stories of her parents. Her father, it seems, was recently murdered.
Duncan and Adrian have one purpose: to bring forth Harlee's true nature,
finding out which half of her parentage, lycan or vampire, is dominant. Harlee quickly discovers that Duncan and Adrian intend to accomplish this through sex. To her further amazement, she will need to join with them at the same time. Harlee is pulled in two directions, experiencing shock as well as titillation when faced with the possibilities of a threesome
with these two Alpha males.
Duncan and Adrian struggle with their feelings. While they both look forward to bringing out Harlee's true nature, they resist dealing with the resulting emotional complications. Both want to protect her, both strongly desire her, but only one will win her heart.
So begins an adventure for Harlee, to explore her sexuality while discovering herself in the process. As Duncan and Adrian work past Harlee's defenses, they must also keep her safe. For it is slowly revealed that someone has a hidden agenda and wants to topple the
leaders of both the lycan and vampire clans. Someone who is willing to kill to accomplish their goals.
Out Of The Darkness is a wild ride of self-discovery, closely held secrets, and lurking peril. It will keep you turning the pages as the book starts out hot and keeps the heat set on "High" throughout. The emotional connections in this book take a little while to kick in, but when they do, you'll find it well worth the wait. The combination of Duncan's amused demeanor and Adrian's brooding intensity is a winner for me. One specific secondary character, Annmarie, has me hoping that the Jaci and CJ Burton writing team plans on continuing this series rather soon. When you grab your copy of Out Of The Darkness grab the ice bucket too, you will desperately need it!

I bought this book due to my love and involvement in local living history. This book is extremely informative, and accurate.
It is geared toward the beginning history buff, or traveling explorer. It outlines the perilous struggle between the British,
and the French for control of North America. Most specifically the Forbes Trail which was hacked out of the "Wild frontier"
that was Pennsylvania in 1758. Engineered just three years after the disasterous Braddock expedition, General John Forbes
along with his newly arrived 1st Battalion of rugged Highland Scots spearheaded a route through the Ohio Country to capture
Fort Duqesne (Pittsburgh). Along the way leaving a wake of forts, outposts, and settlements that would shape the very heritage
of Pennsylvania, and history of our nation. Old bed and breakfasts, vacation spots, historical sites, outdoor recreation
areas, and annual festivals are just some of the things brought about by the daring endeavor. This book parallels history
with modern day recreation, geography, and heritage. It is highly recommended for all history buffs. It is also recommended
for those with a daring spirit for adventure and travel. Those who like heritage, history, recreation, variety, and folklore.
Enjoy

This book explodes with information, history and suggestions. It was a daunting task, I'm sure, to collect all of the contents,
but well worth it. The Forbes Trail is something all Pennsylvanians, and for that matter, all Americans, should explore and
relish. It's such a vital part of who we are and how we arrived at where we are.
The suggestions in the book for places to stay, to see, where to eat, things to do, places to explore - all abound, which makes for a rich presentation. There are lots of things to do which are off the beaten path. With this book in hand, adventures beckon. I recommend it heartily.

Wonderful book and I could kick myself for waiting so darn long to read it after I bought it!
To me, the book was a little Harlequinesque which I am a fan of, and the love-hate relationship between the H & H was great. They fought their attraction so hard... didn't work though, of course they had to give in. *snicker* And when they finally got together... boom!!! Fireworks! Then the hero, caring soul that he is, follows the "if you love something set it free" philosophy and lets the heroine leave to find what she's looking for. *sigh* Sweet, yet idiotic... she had already found what she was looking for. HIM!
I snickered here and there and I even teared up a couple times. It was a heartwarming story about two lonely people who, in the end, rescue one another... and Rescue Me is a book that I will definitely read again.
My verdict: *In George Costanza's voice* Two thumbs up for this one, baby!!!
Hey! I wonder if Mrs. Burton will eventually get around to telling Brady and Emma's story. Hmmm...

Sabrina is at the Rocking M ranch to help the Morgan family out of a financial bind. The deal is, she invests in their ranch
and they teach her about ranching for 3 months. Sabrina is recently divorced from a controlling man and is eager to make it
on her own. Kyle is also recently divorced. It's part of the reason he is having money troubles. When Sabrina shows up Kyle
can't believe that for the next 3 months he will be working along side of this gorgeous woman. Kyle and his brother and sister
Jenna and Brady, are making plans to increase profits. Kyle includes Sabrina in the planning which thrills her and makes Kyle
realize his desire for Sabrina is growing. After fighting their attraction for so long Kyle and Sabrina finally give in to
their desire for each other and they start a secret affair. Everything is going great until Kyle discovers that Sabrina asked
for outside help to save the ranch and he is furious with her. When Sabrina's time at the ranch is up, she and Kyle part on
bad terms. Sabrina is hiding a big secret from Kyle but she refuses to tell him because she doesn't think he loves her. Kyle
needs to let go of his stubborn pride before he loses the one woman that could rescue him from a life of lonliness.
Kyle and Sabrina weren't looking for love but it found them anyway. Because of Sabrina's ex husband she is innocent and eager when it comes to love and relationships. She blossoms into a strong passionate woman in Kyle's arms. Kyle is a handsome cowboy who doesn't want to get hurt again but finds himself falling hard for Sabrian because she is such a beautiful and intelligent woman. Rescue Me is delightful. The sexual tension and interesting storyline are the perfect prelude to the second half of the story where the passionate sex and deepening emotions of the characters continue the tale. Kyle's attempt to get Sabrina back brought tears to my eyes. Rescue Me is a very romantic story that left me feeling really good and put a smile on my face.

The CD ROM VERSION is great , with very clear pictures which zoom on double clicking , a very good search engine , a navigator
and the text in different colours and backgrounds .Easy to print ,is worth having, only the cost is a bit high.I would certainly
recommend the CD ROM version to those who are planning to buy the book .

My father spent hours and hours working on this new edition, which includes the definitive guide to ectoparasites in dermatology.
It is the Brit bible of dermatology.

This is a great book ,it used as a standard text book by generations of dermatologists in INDIA , the text flows like a story
, the pictures are very good (especially the CD ROM version)and the information is exaustive.
There is just one problem the information is too exaustive --- 4 volumes and 3700 pages--at this rate it will soon overtake encyclopedia britannica-- a dermatology residents nightmare when it comes to exams--the sole advantage of the size it awes many non dermatologists . My only request to the authors is they come out with a more concise edition , sparing us all the past theories of etio-pathogenesis which have been disproved now anyway, syndromes from single/two case reports of rare presentations giving us clear cut guidelines with regards to treatment on the basis of their personal clinical experience .

I don't know where this author has been hiding, but these stories deserve a wide audience. Maybe every one isn't perfect,
but there are several that hit the bulls-eye with sharply drawn scenes and brutally honest insight. Men, that's the subject,
men with women, men with fathers, men with souls. These men are damaged, and the thing is, you can imagine that you know
them. I'm happy to read someone willing to plumb the depths.

I thought it was a terrific book. I really liked the story where the main character went hunting with his father. It really
captured some very real emotions and brought back memories of my own childhood. I would strongly recommend this book.
One of the best books I've ever read.

Burton has an uncanny ability to combine all the elements of the genre you love - urban legends, the insidiously creepy, the
twist ending, quiet cold calculating homicide, auto-animations and shadows - resulting in a real hair raiser. About as much
fun as you could stand on a stormy night alone in your reading armchair. I was about two pages into this book when the gooseflesh
started to rise. From a free toy in a cereal box that preternaturally makes your parents do what you want to an Alzheimer
patient's gruesome confession. From the urbanite who takes the ruckus raised by a wife-beating neighbor into his own hands
to the traveling salesman whose secret to dealing with stress makes headlines in every city he visits... Burton had my absolute
attention. I hope another collection from this fine suspense writer is on its way. Congratulations to him, and to Pocol
Press for finding this intense talent.

You should be warned that you most likely don't want to show up at Burton's door to do any trick or treating. I suspect there's
a good chance he would leave something nasty in your bag. His stories are like that too.
JB Burton's collection of stories roughly falls into the category of horror/fantasy. It is a collection packed with well written stories of an often disturbing nature. The book contains a wide range of stories from the title story "Shadow Play" that involves a little boy with a most unusual talent to my personal favorite, "The Acceptance" where the main character struggles to determine what his true, bizarre identity actually is.
One more stand out story is "The Forever Stone." I won't give away the ending but I guess this might be what passes for a love story in Burton's twisted world.
If you're looking for an entertaining beach read that you can pick up, put down and pick up again or something to read by a cozy fire on a rainy day, this might be the book for you. I would suggest that you might not want to read it before bedtime though. The stories are sure to haunt your dreams and lead to a most troubled and unrestful sleep.

I really like the twenty stories that make up Shadow Play. When you walk into one of Burton's worlds, you never know whose
mind you'll be inhabiting for the next few pages. It could be an enraged father with nothing left to lose, or a child who
knows that only he can save the world. It could be someone connecting the dots as the shape of a grisly truth emerges. It
could even be a disembodied mind. Sometimes, as in the title story (which is reminiscent of Stephen King at his long-lost
best), supernatural elements figure in. Sometimes it's just an average Joe who's not gonna take it anymore. All you know
for sure is that something sinister, or macabre-or just plain creepy-is afoot...and that you get to go along for the ride.
The narrator of "Per Diem", one of my favorites in the collection, asserts that "everyone needs a release valve." I think
we should be thankful that Burton's release valve is writing.

"Marquetry" is the cutting and assembly of a variety of think woods (called veneers) to make a colorful pattern and showcase
the beauty of wood. In Simple Marquetry, Mike Burton draws upon his more than forty years of experience and expertise to show
the reader how to transform plan objects into esthetically impressive functional and decorative items with a series of easy-to-follow
techniques. There is an extensive and basic "how-to" section for the novice, and one that does not require elaborate equipment
or expensive setups. This is followed by fifteen projects ranging from a set of kitchen canisters embellished with rustic
images to a striking contemporary design created by repeating geometric shapes. All projects include templates and detailed,
step-by-step instructions which are augmented by photography. Simple Marquetry is ideal for the weekend hobbyist and a wonderful
introduction to a specialized and enduringly beautiful craft.

Mike Burton has accomplished a feat that few author's ever accomplish. He has produced a "how to" manual that surpasses his
original publication on Veneering. Mr burton has shared with his readers the techniques, tools, proper processes and product
inter-actions seldom disclosed by an artist. The process is explained in such detail that failure is not even a consideration.
Thanks Mike!!!!

I enjoyed the first 70 pages of the book. The author talked about technique, finishes, etc. I was disappointed in the the
actual objects. The patterns were not full size and there were no measurments given. It was all sort of vague.
Plus, I understoof Marquetry to be with the use of scroll saws and coping saws. The author never even showed these techniques.
It was an interesting view, but NOT for the beginner wishing to learn the true art of marquetry. It is, indeed, "simple."

This is me first post, i am usually so busy reading and ordering books i never have time to let anyone know what i thought
about them. But with that being said... with the other posts i am not going to give you a synopsis of what the book is about,
you can find that if you scroll up jsut a wee bit. But i will tell you this book was amazing... and i mean that with a capital
A..
I read Jaci Burtons first in this series Summer Heat... that was jaw dropping, very hot, spicy & erotic love scenes, not for the faint at heart. Then I read Ice & Rain, then 3&4 in her series and i didnt think they could get any better than the frist but she managed to pull me in and by the time i was finished i wanted to be part of the big extended family. Who wouldn't.. LOL.
If you qant a book/ storyline that is going to capture you from the first page, if you want a book that has sex ,sex and more sex, then this is for you, if you want to see how men and women truly fall in love and over come all obstacles to make it work.. that read Jaci Burton's A Storl for all Season... I bought all 4 books together, so i wouldn't miss anything..
Hope this helps

Strong sensuality, good characters with a different twist

Deeply embedded within New Orleans culture is the famous Storm family--owners of beautiful hotels and community icons. They
also share a variety of magical abilities, many having to do with the natural world or even the weather. The strongly sensual
novel is really two complete books in one--each dealing with a season--Winter and Spring. Although
the characters are compelling, the emotional connection deep--this is not written for the faint of "sensual" heart. Feeling brave? Go for it and you won't be disappointed.
