Never mind the slew of literary garble about his genius, nor the sickening drivel of bickering fools digging for gossip: now good'ole bill can be read on his own, as he was when these letters were first written, obviously. This might just be the best collection yet of his letters...

William S Burroughs is surely one of the most brilliant authors of the last century. Although I find his books very interesting, the genious is really revealed through his audio recordings. I could never get into "Naked Lunch" until I heard him read it. It's all about beat and tone, just like jazz...

This fiction work is a great read. John, a wealthy, and physically weak individual is cast on an island. He learns how to survive in the wild and he also learns how to depend on himself for answers to problems. He eventually overcomes his fear of the night and of the animals that live in the jungle. In the process of triumphing over everything in his new environment he wins the affection of a woman, Nadara, who also was shipwrecked on the island when she was a little girl. I definitely reccommend this book to everyone and anyone.

The story of of transformation of a wimpy, young man by the name of Waldo Emerson Smith-Jones into a proper cave man, Thandar. Filled with ERB's rare humor and an excellent read.
The first edition is the expensive McClurg. The first reprint is the G&D. The cheap editions are a miscellany of paperbacks.

The Canaveral edition includes illustrations by Roy G. Krenkel. The first edition was by A.C. McClurg & Co., 1925. The first Canaveral edition is 1962. The first Ace paperback edition is 1964. This is a very interesting transformation story in which a weakling by the name of Waldo Emerson Smith-Jones becomes the mighty Thandar and wins the hand of Nadara, the Cave Girl. This is a rather unusual story by Edgar Rice Burroughs and a hoot to boot.

A Better Understanding of Biblical Apologetics, an Equipping Tool

In this user friendly study guide "Defending Your Faith," John Ankerberg and Dillon Burroughs challenge the reader to consider the basis of their faith, and to understand the development and accurateness of the Bible. These inter-active studies are formatted to be used over a twelve week period and can be adapted for personal study, or in a group Bible study setting. The book is the sixth title in the Following God Christian Living series, a topical approach to Bible study.
Each lesson considers an important question regarding the Christian faith. Evidence is presented with clarity to help the reader understand the material and in turn to communicate truths to family, friends, or others seeking answers to these questions for themselves.
Each chapter is divided into suggested reading and study to be covered over a five day period. The lessons provide valuable information and background material on such important issues as: The Bible as God's Word, other religions, evolution, creation, the resurrection, miracles, prophecy, and the problem of God allowing suffering and evil. Opportunity is given for self expression to aid the reader in assimilating the material. Each lesson is filled with scriptural evidence for study, reflection, and to equip you to defend your faith.
I personally appreciated the word studies, the thought provoking questions, the personal application opportunities and the insightful quotes from recognized Bible scholars.
"Defending Your Faith" is an excellent study and provides opportunity for the reader to apply truths to their own lives, and to know and communicate what the Bible teaches. It can be easily adapted for inclusion as curriculum in church discipleship and new believers training programs. I highly recommend this book for consideration by pastors involved in adult education opportunities, to every Christian Education Director, to small group leaders, and for individual study, and one-on-one discipleship mentoring.

This is a great book. If you like westerns' read it. If you like mystery read it. If you like adventure read it. If you like romance read it. If you like comedy read it. You love the hero. You are guessing through out the book. It is about Buck Mason (I know bad name.) who is the "Deputy Sheriff Of Commanche County." There is evidence against him say he killed a man. His family had had a feud with this man over land. When he finds out that he is being blamed he goes into hiding. He wants to prove his innocents and hunt down the real killer's. But after he went in to hiding everybody believed him guilty.
This book is easy to read. If you can find it buy it. I only read Louis L'amour when it come to western's. But this guy is good.

I always enjoyed Tarzan running around the jungle etc etc but when he made his way "back into a land time forgot" in the Pellucidar series of tales at the earth's core fighting dinos and sabertooths and mastodons and cavedudes -- well, heck! How cool was that! So get the series of tales here all together.
