I love this guide! The information provided is incredibly personal, and is also very open and honest. I am leafing through 4 of these guides in order to find my perfect college, and each of them, although laid out very similarly, have very different information about the schools. It might be clumsy and big, but so were my numerous expeditions into the mighty Grand Canyon. For all who have seen the G.C. firsthand, the "coined" phrase is: "Pictures don't do it Justice." Which is absolutely true. However, this is the only book I have found that comes fractionally close to relating the G.C.'s awesome scale & vistas! It makes a perfect book for the cocktail table. This is the "creme de la creme" of G.C. Pictorial books. Get it! You won't be disappointed.

Out of all of Burns' work, I don't consider this his best, but it is definitely the most fun. El Borbah, a character based upon El Santos, the star of popular Mexican Action films, is a fat dude in wrestling tights and mask who solves crimes and kicks ***. While the world runs down in chaos around him, El Borbah just wants to earn a buck fighting crime. Includes stories re. the next step after body-piercing, genetic engineering and fast food chains, and other sorts of weirdness. BUY THIS or the Fantagraphics reprint NOW!

Designed to appeal to the peculiar, a nicely-realised world of weirdos torment our hero 'el borbah - man of steel' who appears to be a WWF wrestler with a job as a PI. pre-reminiscent of 'gun with occasional music'

I got this book and it was AMAZING! It had all the things I wanted to know about my dream collge. It was really good on important things like campus housing, campus food, nightlife, and how classes are. And I LOVED that it told what the students thought and not what the university had to say. If you are wanting to apply to Harvard University, BUY THIS BOOK!

I am a member of the class of 2005 at Harvard College and know most of you guys/girls are about to make some really tough decisions concerning college. Alot of times you only have university viewbooks and anecdotal evidence to aid in your decision-making.

I'd like to let ya'll know about a series of books from CollegeProwler.com that presents the whole story. Beautiful, bright colors make this a treat to look at. The flaps and pull tabs are simple and sturdy so that my 11-month old can use them (with a little help). Would make a great present.

I bought this book before my son was born to use the illustrations as a sort of template for painting his bedroom walls. He now, at 20 months, loves this book and asks me often to read the "pull book". The colors are bright and the sea creatures are whimsical yet simple. The tabs are fairly sturdy although I have had to glue a couple of them back in place.

Beautiful, spare, clean prose. There's an economy in these poems that captures and befits true moments of grace. A haunted, bittersweet quality to the little pieces of transcendance.

This first book by poet and essayist Christopher Locke is a must have for anyone who likes real poetry. The author uses images from the natural world with true animism. He envisions a world in which "mosquitos sucker punch" his neck and "brains are quilted with the geography of sleep". These poems sing with a creativity few people in this world will ever possess.

This book is solutions focused. It offers concise advice that is really helpful. Learn how to broach the tough money questions with parents who never talked with their kids about sex or money. Then learn exactly what to do to improve your parents finances and your own, and their, peace of mind. I recommend it highly!

I picked up this book after reading about it in Michelle Singletary's column. I can't believe I never knew it existed. I have been struggling to handle my parents' finances and stressing about how to do it fairly, without upsetting my brother and causing family discord. Finally, I've found good, solid advice on exactly how to do this. Not only is this book essential for anyone in my position, but I highly recommend it for anyone who thinks that someday they might be taking care of someone else's finances.

This book is hands down, the funniest book I ever read. It was interesting, entertaining, and made me laugh out loud hundreds of times. It takes you behind the scenes at one of the biggest comedy shows on earth and integrates hilarious stories effortlessly. I actually read this during a 27 hour car ride from San Diego to Calgary during 9/11 and distracted me momentarily during a difficult time.

A must read for any fan of comedy; chronicalling the inner-workings,headaches,near-disasters,unexpected plesures,etc. of one of the major comedy festivals in the world; written by the man in charge. Great stories about some of the most beloved & well-known comedy acts in the world as well as some you have never heard of. The book boasts "Guaranteed to make you laugh or your money back." They can keep my money. I will keep the book and laugh again sometime in the future. (So what if the other people on the plane think I'm a lunatic)!
