This book grasps the reader's attention from the very beginning and is hard to put down. Although short in length, this could
very well be the next best cult classic. I have only heard good things from those that have already read Tears of Crimson
and they anxiously await a sequel.

This is a fantastic book for children who are welcoming a new baby into their home. The story teaches correct names for mother
and baby animals, but it also has a special wish for each "baby." This is a book you can read wiht your child for several
years, and one that will really engage your child!

This is the best book for young readers about the Aztec culture that I've ever read. It's an incredibly valuable tool for
teachers since it is factually accurate. The fantastic story of a young boy being transported back in time is a wonderful
device used cleverly by the author to allow this time period to come alive. It will definitely be added to my classroom library
this year. Thanks, Mr. Burnett. I look forward to reading your next novel.

Tanner Clinton doesn't believe in fairy tales but he plays along with it when his five-year-old nephew Jeremy casts a spell
to turn him into Tom Thumb. Of course, nothing happened but he wasn't about to disappoint the little guy. Jeremy insists
the only way he will reach his normal six feet height again is to be kissed by a fairy princess and nuzzle her neck. Too
bad there isn't a fairy princess in sight. He could really use a little loving.
Being stood up again by her boyfriend of the past several months has put Camille Barton into a real snit. She's already left a heated message from him on his answering machine and is indulging in a glass of wine. The wine is supposed to clam her inner rage but she wonders if maybe it's making her hallucinate because there's suddenly a very small naked man on her back porch with her.
Camille is stunned by the appearance of this miniature man. Surely it's just her imagination, but then why couldn't she have imagined a normal size guy? It makes absolutely no sense. Tanner explains about his nephew casting a spell on him and inquires if she's a fairy princess, oh and of course if she has any clothes that may fit him. Certain that she's lost her mind, Camille opts to head for bed. Tanner has no desire to remain on the porch so he requests that she put him up for the night. Since he's only a figment of her distorted imagination she lets him in. Once they've settled in for the night, Tanner waits until he's sure she's asleep and then he kisses her cheek and nuzzles her neck . . . what happens next proves that he's all man and not so little anymore.
How fun! I've never read an adult fairy tale before but the blurb for TANNER'S THUMB really appealed to me so I thought I'd give it a try and thoroughly enjoyed this tale. The storyline is whimsical yet has just enough realism that you can imagine something like this happening and you're able to relate to the characters. Tanner's relationship with his nephew endeared him to me right off the bat. There's something so sexy about a man who really cares about the kids in his life. I loved Camille's rage over being stood up and her confusion over Tanner's appearance. There's no doubt they make a wonderful couple. It just took a little spell by a five-year-old to bring them together. Beautifully done Ms. Burnett! I definitely won't be overlooking adult fairy tales in the future.

We have long needed this book. Historically, most texts have either concentrated on describing the natural history of venomous
organisms or the medical implactions of envemonations (a noteable exception is the excellent contributions by Halstead). This
book provides a great deal of biological informtion about toxic marine organisms and then combines this with the latest
information about medical treatments for envenomations. In addition, this book also contains an excellent reveiw and classification
for cnidae, which I have personally been looking for for a while. I honestly can't say enough about this text. Although
this book is not really for the layman (you won't find much in the way of popularized accounts of injuries), it is an EXCELLENT
text for specialists.

I first read this book about ten years ago, it was frightening then, even more so now when you consider what tools the Govenment
of today has to work with. I would recommend this book to anyone, also by the same author, The Unsinkable Aircraft Carrier.
Sleep soundly.

This book is a must for anyone trying to understand the West of the 20th Century. Georgellen Burnett picks up where Frederick
Jackson Turner and John Steinbeck left off. The frontier didn't end in 1890, not if you were a woman. The women she profiles
are the genuine articles behind the fictional Ma Joad. This gifted young historian uses her own "voice of the llano" to tell
how our pioneer grandmothers were stewards of the land, builders of homes and people, and the keepers of culture and sanity.
They endured; they saved beauty and hope for us; "They...toughed it out...."

It is small. It is well illustrated. It is simple. It is comprehensive. It is correct, almost no errors and no "over simplifications."
If you are a CEO, a student, or a child over 10 and interested in understanding weather, this well organized and concise
book is a good place to start.

Why this book is out-of-print is anyone's guess! This lovely novella, written by the author of the ever-popular Little Lord
Fauntleroy and The Secret Garden, is a classic dealing with life after death. After her first son's untimely death, Burnett
delved into spiritualism and found this a great comfort in dealing with her grief. This was a subject she was interested
in for the rest of her life. During World War I, Burnett finally got a chance to put her beliefs about what happens after
death into writing. The story involves a young woman with unusual insight living as a semi-recluse in the Scottish Highlands
finding the love of her life. The White People is very evocative of life in the Highlands and is also a fictionalized validation
of life after death. This is an old-fashioned, innocent tale that will warm your heart. Anyone tired of the graphic type
of novel currently popular should certainly give this a try. Highly recommended.
