I got my first dover coloring book about 30 years ago and have been hooked. I now have a collection of about 20. They are kind of hard to find in retail and when you do the selection is poor.

I find coloring to be very relaxing when you are stressed. I also cannot just watch tv I like to be doing crochet or cross stitching, coloring.

These books are very well done as far as the drawings are concerned. They can be very intricate. Some are made more for children but many would be hard for a child under say 10yrs old to do and feel good about.

They are best done with colored pencils as you can get really good at shading and make them really pretty.

I highly recommend this and many others. I do own this specific book.

Spartan Band: Burnett's 13th Texas Cavalry In The Civil War by Thomas Reid (History Instructor at Lamar University) is the definitive study of the 13th Texas Cavalry Regiment as it operated during the American Civil War. The result of Reid's meticulous research (letters, diaries, oral histories gleaned from more than one hundred descendants of the soldiers) and positive flair for reader-engaging writing, showcases a Confederate unit drawn from eleven counties in East Texas when it was organized in the spring of 1862 by two Texas Senators -- John H. Burnett and Anderson F. Crawford. Although a calvary unit, the 13th was ordered to dismount after crossing the Red River into Arkansas and fought as infantry until the end of the war, seeing action at Lake Providence, Fort De Russy, Manfield, Pleasant Hill, and Jenkins' Ferry. Disbanded in Hempstead, Texas, in May 1865, the unit was held in high regard and service it in paved the way for several of its troops to secure favor in business and political office. With China very much in the news these days this was a very interesting read, if at times rather confusing. David Burnett travels through China's history, exploring how religious ideas and practices have developed and changed over time.

The chapters on China's history in the last hundred years were particularly helpful, showing how the various influences of events and culture have affected Chinese peoples' expressions of religious faith.

Reading this book reminds us how different the Chinese people are from Westerners and this reader occasionally became confused by the similar sounding names and words but overall this was a very informative and well-written book.

I've read this book several years ago and reread and reread it - it still never fails to amaze me. My copy is so stained-yellow now and smelled old so I am hoping to find a new one... The book will be very much worth the reading.

I loved this book! It gives you that good feeling all over! Made me laugh and cry. I reccomend it to anyone

This is one of Burnett's lesser known novels but highly worth the read. Young Tembarom suddenly comes into a large inheritence and a large estate in Great Britian. His American way of life comes into a sharp contrast and he keeps his chin up the entire time. His love of his life who he met before coming into money refuses to have him unless he stays one year among the posh and still wants her. The deal is he can't see her and must surround himself with beautiful higher class women (with funny results). Old friends are found and new friends made and a ten year old mystery is solved by Tembarom. This is a typical Horatio Alger style book with a woman's touch and far older characters that you usually associate with what we see as a children's author. Very turn of the last century style of writing but highly enjoyable.
