This book rocks and lives up to all its promises! It certainly is a groundbreaking book for it covers not only the history
of the pro beach volleyball sport but also all its present challenges and successes. The book is loaded with drama and comedy
as it describes every facet of the sport: the AVP organization, the players, the media and sponsors, and even the fans. A

I confess, I've only read about 15 pages of this book. However, I'm very impressed with the little I've read. The passage
I read was about implementing ans framing the culture of the community. In this book, students are making their own classroom
rules, learning how to resolve conflicts, even collaborating on the themes of study. The book has helpful week-by-week
plans for how to make students invested in and accountable for their own learning.

Anthro major? You might be surprised how much and how many tools come from Engels, as in Marx and Engels of Capital fame.
The same analytical tools they applied to economics (That are used every day) here are applied to anthropological study of
the basis of our present day social institutions.
Relevant today, as much as for info as for seeing where the ideas discussed lead to the arguments and theories of today.

I am a primary care sports medicine physician and occasionally take my own x-rays. This book contains all the common and
many uncommon x-ray views used in conventional plain-film orthopaedic radiography. For each view there are photographs and
narrative instructions for positioning, what type of equipment to use (cassette, bucky, etc.), orientation of the beam and
other helpful hints, and a picture of what the x-ray should look like. It is a great reference for anyone who orders orthopedic
x-rays and for x-ray techs as well. Helpful when asking a tech to take an unusual view they are not familiar with (e.g. west
point axillary). I have found it very helpful in learning how to take x-rays myself as well - the only other thing I needed
was the technique chart for the x-ray tube I am using. An inexpensive and valuable addition to my library.

Mike Burke certainly did have outrageous good fortune in his lifetime. From OSS and CIA operative in WWII and the Cold war
to Pres/CEO of Ringling Bros Circus, VP at CBS , Pres/CEO/Part owner of the NY Yankees, Pres/CEO of Madison Square Garden
which included The Knicks and Rangers and finaling retiring to Ireland. An exciting, well-written chronicle of a very busy
full life. He describes his friendships with Hemingway, Bill Donovan,Kim Philby,George Steinbrenner, William Paley,Reggie
Jackson, Mickey Mantle and some not-so-friendly as Jimmy Hoffa and more. A cast of characters passed through his life that
a fictional book author couldn't have better picked. I frankly couldn't put the book down.

I love this book. It's simple, no nonsense approach to serious problems are refreshing. From a real philosopher, it's down
to earth and not stuffy with complex argumentation like you find in formal works by philosophers. Mr. Burke explains things
simply and concisely, and he makes no excuses for his thoughts. This book is a wonderful introduction to philosophy and critical
thinking for students. Very approachable.

Terrific book, great pictures - A must for any Jeremy Brett fan!! For over a decade Jeremy Brett played the master sleuth
of Baker Street in thirty-six episodes and five feature-length films. The Granada Television Sherlock Holmes series sold to
over eighty countries worldwide and many people the world over regarded Jeremy's interpretation as the most profound and brilliant
portrayal in the history of television. Despite over a hundred actors having played Sherlock Holmes, Jeremy will always be
remembered as The Definitive Sherlock Holmes. Yet little is known of the man prior to his outstanding success. This book puts
the record straight with a short biography, career listing, letters from admirers, cast list of every Sherlock Holmes episode,

This is a wonderful historical overview of Rye Playland. The book captures the flavor of Playland completely. The text gives
due credit to Frank Darling, Fred Church, and others for the park creation. The many photos illustrate the rides, shows, and
attractions past and present be it the tumblebug, old mill, Laff in the dark, Airplane and Dragon coasters, racing derby,
merry go round, fun house, kiddyland, skee ball, promotional events, picnics, water activities, etc. Even park construction
photos and photos of Rye Beach Park that preceded Playland are included. To every visitor of Playland, this book will surely
revive grand old memories or expose them to the magic of its past days.
