This book was a very good one. Written by a man who has done his own homework, instead of someone else doing it for him.( LIKE OUTFITTERS AND GUIDES) It's good to see men who are real deerhunters doing it the old fashioned way. Scouting area's themselves, making their own strategies in getting trophy deer. You can tell he knows what he is talking about from experience. Many of the books say the same thing over and over again. When this man comes highly regarded by Gene Wenzel, that is saying something to me! If you want to go to the next level in deerhunting, This book is for you. I would give it six stars if I could. Get It!

Makes the complex quite simple

I get so tired of reading deer hunting books that simply repeat the same old deer hunting advice: "set up between bedding areas and feeding areas," for instance. In the places where I've lived, it's often hard to tell feeding areas - food is everwhere, and deer can bed anywhere. So needless to say, much of what passes for deer hunting advice - even from so-called experts - is confusing and doesn't really end up working where most of us hunt. Against this backdrop, Bobby Worthington is a breath of spring. The stuff he suggests is stuff you won't read much of other places, but will actually work where you live. Bobby's a country boy who grew up studying deer (not deer hunting books), and rather than pay a guide to hunt his deer for him so he can shoot it (what many other writers do), he hunts them himself. His advice is common sense, practical, and easy to understand. If you read this book and do what he says, you WILL become a better deer hunter.

If you ever saw Star Wars and thought "Han Solo would be much cooler if he were 300+ lbs." This book is for you. If you ever harbored a desire to shoot up an intergalactic saloon & get paid for it... This book is for you. If you've ever considered resigning from your current job and becoming a disciple of the SlagBlah priests... This book is Definitely for you. Phil Foglio was also co-author of 'Illegal Aliens' and is the illustrator of a whole bunch of those 'Magic the Gathering' cards with his wife Kaja. If you can get it, this graphic novel is well worth it.

Very Funny.

Absolutely the funniest author on the planet. No kidding. No, I'm not related to him and I dont work for him. This series involves a large private detective on a planet with no laws. The comic art is first rate (the pictures are funny even without the text) and the dialog is priceless. Foglio also did a graphic novel of the first MythAdventures book which is a real hoot, and is the author/illustrator of XXXenophile, the sweetest natured absolutly filthy comic book you ever saw. The comic book versions of these are available here and there, but they really deserve to be in print. Whom do we petition?

This book doesn't fit a market niche, so the publisher gets credit for trying to get it into the hands of 9 to 12 year olds, but it's a gas if your an adult. Buck Hooey has a $10 horse and the cheapest gun in the west, but he makes me think maybe I could be a hero, too.

This is a must have book for anyone who is a deer hunter. Along with charming real-life hunting stories, you also learn tips and tricks that make you a better hunter.

Told by an Oklahoma woman who is expert in bow and gun and able to kill, dress, and cook her own game, "Buck Stops Here" illustrates that women are just as capable of bringing home dinner as any man is.

The Hidden Flower - Excellent Reading!

This is a captivating story of the unexpected love between an American soldier and an aristocratic Japanese student, set in WWII. They are together against the world - her parents in Kyoto-Japan, his parents in America, and the prejudices of the era against mixed marriages and the product of them, mixed children. 'The Hidden Flower' is one of Buck's masterpieces!

This book is one of the most intelligent, moving and open-minded statements on interracial love and relationships that I have ever come across. Buck's story of a star-crossed pair of East-West lovers set in post-War Japan explores the racial pride and prejudices of both the East and West. She also manages to tell a deeply moving human story that transcends race. And remember, she was doing this in pre-MLK America, when non-mixing of the races was a cherished American value. Few if any authors have handled this subject with more insight and even-handedness than Buck. And none with more genuine compassion. Should be required reading in any multi-ethnic society.

My own hidden flower

Review Date: 2003-02-23
I first read this book when I contained my own "not so" hidden flower, I was a six months pregnant American woman married to a native Japanese. I was also young, in my early twenties. It touched me incredibly deeply. It is the story of young naive love, love that does not question if it chooses wisely. It is about passion without reason and the consequences of that love that cause great pain in the end. The young heroine chooses to love an American military man and marry him. He is enamoured with her, comletely taken and brings her home to be his bride only to discover that it is against the law to be married to a non-white. Indeed this law was changed only within my own lifetime. I can't imagine having to make the terrible choices the young woman was faced with once she found she was going to have a baby. The other interesting issue is the taste the American serviceman shows for the sexy exotic nature of his bride, but when it truly comes to the reality of life he easily discards her. ALthough he initially married her one can see the old saying emerge: "Asian girls are for fun, white girls are for marriage."

A touching and sad story, one that is hard for the younger generation to comprehend.

Great Christian Perspective on the Financial World

Review Date: 2006-02-12
I am a Financial Advisor who is also a Christian. Anyone who works in the financial service world knows that the current system is broken. A recent media statistic noted that the savings rate for Americans went negative in 2005 for the first time since the Great Depression. People are living in bondage because they have little concept of how to manage their money. Money is a great servant, but a terrible master. This book does an excellent job of pointing out that as Christians, if we follow God's principles for managing money, we will be blessed. This book is a call to action for the body of believers to wake up and honor God with their money and possessions, to the building of God's kingdom. A must read for all Christians.

I have visited Fonthill Museum many, many times and finally there is a book that does this fantastic place justice. The color photographs and the floorplans alone are worth the price of the book. Fonthill is a unique artistic expression of a relatively unkown renaissance man, Henry Chapman Mercer. As the book describes, despite its random apperance from the exterior and interior, the house is built with a great deal of thought, intent, and philosophy. If you love tiles, architecture, archaeology, the Arts & Crafts Movement, and history, then this book is a must read, and Fonthill is a must visit!

In 1908, tile maker Henry Chapman Mercer turned his artistic talents to planning and constructing Fonthill, a "castle in concrete". Fonthill served as Mercer's residence and a personal museum for his decorative tiles, prints and artifacts from 1912 until his death in 1930. Fonthill: The Home Of Henry Chapman Mercer is an informative survey and presentation of this architectural achievement, enhanced throughout with photography (22 b/w, 56 color), heretofore unpublished illustrations, as well as sketches and comments from mercer's own construction notebook. The photography, architectural cross sections and floor plans for each level of Fonthill highlight the innovative design, artistic detail and decorative tile work comprising an original American architectural treasure. Fonthill: The Home Of Henry Chapman Mercer is very highly recommended reading for architectural students and anyone with an interest in American architectural history and the National Historic Landmark series.

My good friend Barbara Brabec has produced what I believe to be the most comprehensive "manual" for anyone starting or thinking of starting a home-based business.

No questions are left unanswered. From start-up concerns like zoning, permits, and legal forms of your business, to running your business day-to-day, this book is the only one that you'll need to get up and running in no time.

What's more, Barbara Brabec has solicited the comments of industry professionals from many different fields. They offer tried-and-true tips and techniques to run your business smoothly and, as the title says, "Bring in the bucks"!

Highly recommended as more and more people are starting and running their own businesses today-- from home. And it contains all of the info you need.

If you buy just one book before launching out into the deep waters of home-based self-employment, make it this book!

As a woman who has worked from home for over eight years, the most important lesson that I have learned is to enjoy all of the expert information that is available for research about working from home. Homemade Money: Bringing In the Bucks is a perfect example of reading something that will enlighten you, help you in areas that you never imagined and give you the self-confidence to know that you are choosing your own path for your life instead of letting some employer rule your days! I never imagined how much information author Barbara Brabec was cramming into this great read! Even though I feel good about my work and my lifestyle, I learned even more about working from home and increasing my future income from Homemade Money: Bringing In the Bucks. I suggest you take the time to read this jam-packed book, filled with information, been-there-done-that advice and helpful tips. It could possibly help YOU bring in the bucks!

Barbara has really outdone herself again in part 2 of her Homemade Money book series, Bringing in the Bucks. In this follow-up to her Starting Smart! book, Barbara has provided an encyclopedic A-Z "crash course" in home business management that's an incredible resource all by itself, and has devoted the rest of the book to the number one problem with which my clients struggle--marketing their businesses. Barbara literally takes you by the hand and walks you down the marketing path, from helping you devise your marketing strategy to providing insight on how to play the publicity game to giving you ideas on inexpensive marketing techniques. Once you've gotten through these stages, there's a whole chapter devoted to doing business online. I would be hard-pressed to find a more comprehensive resource to help my clients manage and market their businesses.

B-STARR -5 STAR REVIEW
Georgia Woodbine is a true messenger a prophetess of life's real true teacher of our financial struggles, the ones we face daily without thought, Money Management - Materialism and all the woes of planning our lives without putting God's first. Many years of splurging, unnecessary spending, mismanagement that all leads to a downward spiral of unpleasant events. Satisfying our desires, but never finding the true path to success.

Georgia shares with her readers her personal experiences and knowledge in an effort to get us back on track, using the many biblical principals that we tend to ignore without even a second thought, that the path to our life successes are in the very biblical principals that we simply ignore.

Georgia's message is plain and simple "Put God first in your life," This is the message that touched me deep in my spirit. I had to do an evaluation on my inner self. I now have A simple daily prayer "The Our Father" and "Each day I know to win this war, I must put on the 'Whole Armor of God" This sets me on the path of righteousness and keeps me under the protection of My True Headship, My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

After reading Georgia's Menu's of Do's and Don'ts and various other guidelines to becoming successful without losing my soul. I knew that my true purpose was to follow the path that God has laid for me to accomplish my mission, the one He sent me on. I simply put His Will For You & I in perspective. I know my passion for fulfilling His will has arrived because I became obedient and humble, by deciding to follow, instead of lead.

There maybe setbacks but after reading Georgia's message, which lead me to know God is faithful and just to see you and I through until the end. This Book Will Truly Change Your Life. This is my review and my testimony to How To Make Big Bucks Without Losing My/Our Souls.

Thank you Georgia for sharing your wisdom! I love Your Passion for Our Lord Jesus Christ - Everyone should read this powerful little book of wisdom. It Will Change Your Life"

Deep down, I truly believe everyone wants to live a life of purpose and find success in their relationships, careers, personal goals and spiritual life. In spite of this desire, not many are equipped with the maps or guides necessary to travel this path, with the first thing being trusting in God's Word. Georgia Woodbine's book HOW TO MAKE BIG BUCK$ WITHOUT SELLING YOUR SOUL! The Do's & Don'ts to Living a Successful Life is a good starting point for those seeking guidance, mostly in having a successful life.

In this small, but well-executed book, Woodbine provides a wealth of information to help the reader tap into their passion and turn that into a profitable business and career. She lists do's and don'ts that will keep you emotionally and spiritually focused, while at the same time, shares that God has a specific plan for each of us and only from within can we find true happiness. Though simply stated, some of the passages in this book have the ability to change one's viewpoint on life. With chapters touching on praying, believing in yourself, never sacrificing your morals, managing your time, helping others, and most importantly, keeping God first, this will be a book I'll come back to time and time again. The tips to remember closing out each chapter and the included exercises are also helpful to the reader.

HOW TO MAKE BIG BUCK$ WITHOUT SELLING YOUR SOUL! is an easy-to-read guide on living a successful and bountiful life as promised in God's Word. I closed this book feeling inspired and motivated as I reviewed the 7 P's for Prosperity: Prayer, Prospects, Planning, Presentation, Promotion, Partnerships, and Persistence and the 7 Keys to Success: Faith, Courage, Passion, Purpose, Focus, Commitment, and Patience. With each set, I am armed to fully meet my destiny and all the blessings that abound within.

This book was very uplifting, and so appropriate to read at this time of the year. I was inspired by the characters and their abilities to stay optimistic and laugh at themselves, even though daily life was such a struggle for them. In comparison to their struggles and the obstacles they overcame, my problems seem insignificant. This is the sort of book that you want to read straight through in one sitting. I like the author's style and hope that she will publish more books like this one in the future.
