This is a fantastic book! It is full of helpful information for the dedicated deer hunter, and it gives a true insight to
deer hunting in south Georgia. Being a deer hunter myself for 45 years, this book made me relive many of my own hunting experiences.
The author did not add or take away anything from the true-to-life hunting stories, making it some what humorous and very
exciting. The section on hunting tips made me a beliver that the author knows his stuff and I can't wait to try some of the
tips this deer season.

Terrific story telling along the same lines as C. J. Box's Game Warden

If you love C.J. Box (Blue Heaven) you'll love Buck Gentry. Both novelists do a fantastic job of setting the scene for a
game warden hero. Boyer, who I have been a fan of since his Sherlock Holmes pastiche (A Sherlockian Quartet) The Giant Rat
of Sumatra, is a bit different than C.J. Box.
Boyer's novel has more of what Martin Heidegger calls the world worlding. That is, there is more of each of the characters in GENTRY. Every character is gone into in depth, from the villainous dog fight runner to a old drunken friend of Gentry's. All these people, dog fighters, bootleggers, a serial killer, a drunk, a real-estate manipulator, the mob and more are so real here they could be your neighbors.
On the other hand, C.J.Box does a much better job of making his women characters realistic. Boyer's good women are so 'sugar and spice and everything nice' they are surreal. They instantly like each other, fall in love without complication, etc. Box's women are much more realistic (though I do have a problem believing the main character's wife is related to his mother-in-law). Only the one bad girl in Boyer's novel seems real.
Both Boyer and Box do a great job of building suspense. Boyer over a much longer novel span. At 600 pages Gentry is a long and enjoyable read.
Gentry's ending is as action packed as Box's, though I wish this one were a little more drawn out. It feels a little like the end of the hour on a television show and we have to fit an ending in. If found myself wondering if the publisher made Boyer cut it a bit to save paper. I think you'll find yourself, anyway, like I did, wishing that Boyer will come out with another episode.

Buck Moline was a great book, full of action, and it would make a great movie or western tv series.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves to read. L.L. Layman is definitely a talented author that knows how to tell a story.

Grass is an inspirational compilation of the life, poetry and study of Buck Ramsey including works from himself and many students
and fans of his life and work. As an extraordinary documentation of Ramsey's life in a generally biographical form of prose,
Grass enlightens readers of the many complications and glories of the easy-going cowboy idol. Grass is a very highly recommended
read to the non-specialist general reader for its fun content and unique style and a perfect introduction to the wit and wisdom
of Buck Ramsey.

This is Better Little Book No. 1409 published in 1940 by Whitman. It features Buck Rogers in the 25th Century A.D. vs. The
Fiend of Space. It's 424 pages, half text with every other page an illustration. It measures 3.5 x 4.5 x 1.25 inches thick.
A great rare classic collectors item for any sci-fi fan. This is the stuff that inspired Star Wars and Star Trek.

Repro of Buck Rogers' Origins Tale

Review Date: 2008-04-08
This is a very nicely done reproduction of the original short story 'Buck Rogers in the 25th Century' as authored by Phillip
Francis Nowlan in the late 1920s. (J. Dille is often incorrectly cited as Buck's creator when actually Dille was Nowlan's
publisher and ultimately wound-up as the owner of the Buck Rogers licensing rights). The story contained herein is one of
those included in the novel-length paperback compilation titled ARMAGEDDON 2419 A.D.(also by P. F. Nowlan) but is presented
here with some wonderful 4-color illustrations, mainly of Buck and his female sidekick, the ever-delightful Wilma Deering
(portrayed in the 1979-81 TV series by the equally intelligent and ravishingly beautiful actress Erin Gray). This pamphlet-like
document was originally published in the 1930s, I believe, as a premium item by a cereal company. All commercial illustrations
have been expunged from this reprint edition, which depicts the text and all original period illustrations in mint condition.
I have seen some fairly shabby/damaged 70+ year-old originals go for around $100.00-US and higher on Ebay, so this reproduction
is a welcome bargain. Collectors of BUCK ROGERS/SF ephemera can afford to buy several to spread the mirth and mystery of America's
first Space Hero. Submitted by Larry Smolucha

This is the second edition of "Buck Wilder" that I have purchased, the first being worn out after only a few months. This
book is written in a clear, concise manner easily understood by both adults and children. I found valueable information
and earned some real "quality time" with my sons through reading this book. The illustrations are quite enjoyable as well.

"Buck, Wild": Great Book!

This is a regular-size hardcover book with truly stunning black & white drawings by one of my favorite artists. The story
tells the life of a wild horse, Buck. Set in beautiful North American country, life is made harsh by natural predators and
by human interference. Although the title hints of a pun, the story has a serious tone in its sincerity. It asks you to
consider the effect of human greed and ruthlessness on the survival of the wild mustangs.

After living out of state for far too many years.I purchased Walter Choroszewski's pictorial essay of Bucks County Pa. This
book recently inspired me to revisit this beautiful county. Mr. Choroszewski's book includes color photographs of the Delaware
River and canal, covered bridges, barns, county and state parks, lakes, historic and modern buildings, water falls, festivals
and people. This book show's a wonderful cross section of Bucks County from Bristol to north of Lake Nockamixon and from the
Montgomery County line to the Delaware River. The cover photo is of the Schofield Ford Covered Bridge before its unfortunate
demise. I remember taking bike hikes to this bridge as a kid. This book is a "must have" for any fan of Bucks County. Ahh,
I am seriously thinking of moving back!
