I think the people that will like this book will be people that like to hunt. This book talks about how people got their deer and what happened when they did. If you don't like to hunt, then you won't really like this book.
One of the best parts of the book is the pictures, and the hunters showing and telling how they got their deer. There were many different hunters and their roles were to hunt deer and kill deer to get big bucks.

Once I started reading this book, I didn't want it to ever end. It is funny and extremely well written. This is not a "How To" book at all. It is full of everyday adventures that are fun to read about. I have never fished, camped, or hiked, and I never intend to. I still loved the book.

A true love of nature

I've lived in Philly all my life and recently picked this book up off the clearance rack at Walmart. I've discovered places in in the city of brotherly love that I never knew existed. As a lifelong fan of butter cakes, I especially appreciated the tips on new places to go to try out these confections! C'est magnifique!

I was thrilled to find this book at my chiropractor's (Ron Maltz- Lahaska) last week! It's a great photographical tour of our area. Bob captured what we really see when we live here. I was especially excited to see the aerial of Twin Silo Farm- an often unheard of part of our landscape! What a treat!

Thank God for people like Bob Krist to do something to preserve
what matters to our landscape vs. these build another McMansion types.......

Lots of silly, simple jokes loved by 6 yr old

My 6 year old is just getting into jokes and loves to tell them but doesn't quite understand how and often doesn't quite get the play on words in many jokes. This book has a ton of great, silly, simple jokes. Reading the jokes has helped her understanding of jokes and greatly expanded her repatore of jokes - thank goodness! Almost all are simple and short and easily remembered and retold by a 6 year old. I highly recommend this joke book for the younger set.

My twelve-year-old daughter is a real fan of joke books, and she glommed on to this book like a drowning man seizing a life preserver! This book is crammed full of clean and quite silly jokes and knock-knocks. If you have a young fan of jokes, then you must get him or her this book. My daughter and I both recommend it to you.

"What can someone who's been living the low carb lifestyle for five years say about a basic book like Karen Rysavy's "Learn the Low Carb Lifestyle for 5 Bucks"?

BUY IT! This book is not only the absolute best short version of how and why low-carb works, but Karen's informal style and first-hand knowledge of the subject make this little gem a joy to read. It got me excited about low-carb all over again!

Whether you're a beginner, or a beginning-again dieter, you'll find "Learn the Low-Carb Lifestyle for 5 Bucks" a suprisingly meaty (LOL) and helpful guide to improving your health by controlling your carbs."

A friend and I brought this book along with us on a nice quiet weekend getaway - the Bed and Breakfast we were staying at doesn't have any televisions. We read the book aloud to each other, on and off throughout the weekend, in between going on walks and such. We both thoroughly enjoyed this book; the stories and philosophies added to the occasion and even enhanced our overall experience that weekend.

I thought this book was quite different from the first book Understanding: Train of Thought in how it delivers its philosophy, nonetheless, it does deliver.

Great, once again

Smith puts out yet another book that's simply wonderful. As with his first book Understanding: Train of Thought, this one is also very unique and original; although I would have to say that this one is even more so. This book is full of wonderful philosophy. I was very impressed. If one were to say what type of philosophy this book delivers, I would say its new-age, in an old-school sort of way. After reading this book I've gained an even greater respect for this author and his deep wisdom. Anyone could benefit from reading this work; this book is definitely a keeper.

CODING PRACTICE

Review Date: 2004-06-26
I used the textbook and workbook to practice for the coding certification exam. This book had more practice exercises than any of the others I considered.

I liked the step by step approach. Also, I do not need the medical terminology included in a lot of other medical coding books.

Also serves as great reference guide for the office after study.

Well worth its price!!!

Hooyee! Legendary author Buck Peterson and his drawing fool sidekick Sourdough McLean have cooked up a terrific book. Remember all those tedious family vacations, the dull games, the numbing banality of those books that promised to keep those monsters in the back seat quiet and never did? ROADKILL USA lampoons it all, and with great style and verve. The book comes complete with three crayons (brown, black, red--the red will wear out the fastest), singalongs, and completely useless tips on the fauna of these here states. Unqualified rave!

For Adult Kids Too

I have to confess, I had fun with this book. (Not while I was driving. I read through it BEFORE we set out on the family vacation.) And because I hung up my crayons years ago I resisted coloring the pictures and saved that activity for my two boys -- ages 9 and 11. (Although it comes with a start-imediately set of 3 crayons.) My fun was doing word games and answering the wildlife and US geography trivia questions. And my two sons loved the roadkill humor of the clever cartoon drawings. This book will work for a trip across country or just a trip to the beach. Or for a rainy afternoon, in doors, at home.
