I was hoping that this book would be a good introduction (or reference) to the field of decision procedures, but unfortunately, going directly to the research papers is a much better investment of your time (and money).
The following references provide an excellent coverage of the field:
1. "Constraint Processing", by Rina Dechter. This is an excellent reference on Constraint Solving, which is similar to decision procedures, but focuses more on finite-domain problems.
2. "Decision Procedures for Bit-Vectors, Arrays and Integers", Ph.D. Thesis by Vijay Ganesh, 2007.
3. "Searching for Truth: Techniques for Satisfiability of Boolean Formulas", Ph.D. Thesis by Lintao Zhang, 2003.
4. "Efficient Algorithms for Clause-Learning SAT Solvers", M.Sc. Thesis by Lawrence Ryan, 2003.

New age twaddleReview Date: 2000-05-21
1. Ms. Bryant feels that performorming ceremony is a more valid method to open doors to the Shmanic state of consciousness than others. IMHO Drumming, fasts, meditation, or thirsts work better. Thankfuly she does not recommend the halucinogens.
2. Ms. Bryant delves into Celtic, Egyptian, and Various Amerindian mythologies.
3. Ms. Bryant includes channeled information. I am not dismissing all channeled information. I am merely pointing out that it is difficult to discern the difference.
4. This book deals exclusively with upper world journeying and completely ignores Lower and middle world journeying.
If you wish to explore shaamanism, I highly recommend the following.
"Secrets of Shamanism: tapping the spirit power within you" Jose and Lena Stevens
"Shamanism: As A Spiritual Practise For Daily Life" Tom Cowan
"The Way of the Shaman" Michael Harner

StarwalkingReview Date: 2002-03-29
Bryant says that "we are star born," and that our earliest ancestors had the ability to "travel" to the stars and return with essential knowledge. She adds that "the Sun, Moon, and other planetary bodies and phenomena in the solar system influence life on Earth." We have the option of continuing to ignore our "Celestial Legacy" or we can attempt to reconnect with it.
She provides specifics on how to access "stellar power" and how to use it "for purposes of individual and personal growth, as well as for the benefit of the planet and all that lives." Bryant describes several ceremonies and sacred rituals essential for starwalking. She also includes directions for making Star Bundles, shields, and masks for ceremonial purposes.
Bryant says "it is my desire to inspire all of us with the wonder of the heavens and to help insure that none of us ever again loses the magic that wonder and awe bring. It is time to become conscious that we are children of the universe, to truly take our place in the cosmic scheme of things."
Readers who are not interested in personally learning to become starwalkers or otherwise draw upon the power of the skies will nevertheless find that Bryant's experience and knowledge make her book an engrossing read. Those readers wishing to travel beyond the bounds of Earth will find Starwalking an indispensable reference.

Better Researched on Military than SocietyReview Date: 2005-07-23
His chapters on life in England at the time, especially the festivities around the allied sovreigns after victory, seem essentially good in their description of the countryside, the towns, and the people. However, I noted that his descriptions of some notables of London society were built on common myths of them, rather than better researched fact. Most especially, his handling of Brummell (my present object of research) struck me as so thoroughly apocryphal, built on later Brummelliana rather than actual memoirs of the man, that it made me wary of accepting the author's information on anyone around him. A book you can only use once you have researched in other books for confirmation everything it says, is an unnecessary detour. For the reader interested in the view of England, I could only give it two stars for insecurity, and recommend that you hunt down Priestly's 'Prince of Pleasure,' 1969 instead.
There are NO illustrations in 'The Age of Elegance', except a few battle maps, indicative of the real emphasis of the 400+ pages. At the end, I felt I had picked up an excellent milsci book half the size that had been padded out with the peacetime/home front chapters that are less focused and less deeply researched in original materials.
The author's style is easy and fluid in the military chapters, without technical gobbledegook: again, excellent for a deep introduction. The other half of the book reads like a compilation of newspaper clippings rewritten by him, as it zooms over the surface of so many subjects, from rural housholds to the supposed mind of this great man or that in reaction to conditions (I distrust his opinions here, as superficial).

I then saw that Sybex had released a brand new "Complete" book for the CCSP. I assumed that Sybex would read reviews such as the ones listed in Amazon to improve this publication. I believe I was wrong. I can not be completely sure but I believe that this Complete version is just a combination of the individual books, with no updating.
I used this Complete book to study for the 642-501 (seeing as how the individual Sybex book received decent reviews). The disturbing item was that the Secur section of the Complete book still did not include information on SDM and Router MC, two topics that I was quizzed on when I took the exam. Fortunately, I had read the Amazon reviews on the individual book and was prepared by supplementing my study on these two items.
I am forced to believe that the publication of this book was an effort by Sybex to soley make money and not to better their their product offering.
I used the CiscoPress book to pass the 642-511 exam. I am currently using the CiscoPress book to study for the 642-521 exam.
