The TrialReview Date: 2006-10-20
One night, something did happen though in this small town of Flemington. About 2 years ago, a man climbed up a ladder, snuck into the Lindbergh house and stole Charles Lindbergh's baby. After these 2 years, the police find and accuse Bruno Richard Hauptmann of this kidnapping. He will be tried in Flemington, even though he was found in Germany. He will be kept in a Flemington prison until found guilty by a court of law.
Katie Leigh Flynn's uncle is a reporter for a local newspaper. He breaks his writing arm, so he cannot write for a while. Still yet, the newspaper assigns him the job as the reporter of the Hauptmann case. He asks Katie's mom if he could get Katie out of school for a couple of weeks to go to the case with him to write down all the notes for her uncle. Her uncle offers to pay her, even though she is only 12 years old, full wages for helping him during the trial. Her mom says she can only do it if she saves all of the money for her college funds.
While Katie is at the case, she writes down almost every word that anybody says in the courtroom. The jury of the case consists of two farmers, one railroad man, four housewives, one insurance salesman, one educational advisor, one retired carpenter, one bookkeeper and one machinist. The case is so big that the people all around the world are coming to report about it. In the case, the jury finds out that Hauptmann killed the Lindenbergh baby after he pulled it out of the window because he dropped the baby while climbing down the ladder. The jury finds the defendant guilty and he is summoned to death.
Flemington turned out to be a nice, quiet town a couple of months after the case. Katie only saved up two-thirds of the money for her college fund and saved the rest for a vacation for her mother behind her mother's back for her mother's birthday. Her mother appreciated that and took the trip, but in return, paid for the trip with her own money by putting it in the college fund. Katie learned that hard work is always the answer to success. She also found out what she would do for a living once she finished school. She, just like her uncle, would go on to become a newspaper reporter.
The TrialReview Date: 2006-10-12
My favorite scene is when they find Bruno Richard Hauptmann is found guilty. It suprised me because I felt like it came out of nowhere but at the same time I was expecting it. I felt sad knowing that someone was going to lose a husband and someone was losing a father, but I felt a little bit of joy for the family that lost their baby because of this man. Over all this was my absolute favorite scene because all at the same time I was feeling different emotions.
I think that this book was pretty easy to read but it wasn't so easy that I could read it in five minutes. I was a little disapointed because it was easy to read and I think that next time I want to pick a more challenging book. Something else I was disapointed about was what the story was about. I was expecting it to be more about the Lindberghs. Instead it was about a girl and her point of view of the trial. Even though it wasn't what I thought it was going to be I still loved the story.
An awful book, poem, and list.Review Date: 2006-06-17
To begin, the story is not even one of talent, since Jen Bryant was just rewriting history. If that is not easy enough, she did not even write in complete sentences. Now, I know what you are thinking, I must just hate poems. Well, that is extremely wrong. This was not even in poem format, which I think is harder than paragraph format. The entire book is a list, that does not make much sense.
Why:
There are a few reasons why I disliked this book, I will break them into catagories: Writing Style; Plot Line; Hook.
1. Writing Style - The writing style in this book is nothing to call home about. It
is a historical fiction, but since the whole book is a list, it is more a less
historical list. Not only is it in lists, but Jen Bryant does not even use the
same kind of list! This makes the book even more confusing than it already
was. All in all the writing style is almost as bad as the whole book itself,
therefor making the book even worse.
2. Plot Line - The plot line was based on a girl who had to go write about the
trial of the Lindbergh baby. That is it. Nothing else. The rest of the book is
just pretty much a rewriting of the actual trial. Throughout the story there is
some backround information given, but so little and vague, that I would
hardly call it a side story, like in Titanic. All in all, this aspect of the book is
about as good as the Writing Style.
3. Hook - This is my final area of review. The hook is how interesting and
addicting the book was. I will make this as simple as possible. I made it to
page eight-teen, and could barely manage to make it any further. The whole
book, I was forcing my self not to throw it into my open fire. When I finally
did finish it, I never wanted to here about it again. So my final words for this
section would be that the book is about as interesting, as it is well written.
Final Comments:
The book may not have been intersesting, but I guess you could call it factual, though I would not say it is a good reference if you want information on the Lindbergh Trial. My words of advise are stay clear of this book, and don't even touch it with a ten-foot-pole.
The Trial book reviewReview Date: 2006-03-09
Well that's what Katie Leigh and her little town go to a trial for in the The Trial by Jen Bryant.
Until the trial Katie was convinced that her town is boring and nothing that ever happens even if Mr. Lindbergh, the first man to ever fly across the Atlantic ocean alone, lives in her town. For two years the police have been looking for the killer of his child Charles Lindbergh, Jr.
At first Katie came home from school and found out that there would be a trial in her town and the police believed that Bruno Richard Hauptman could be involved with the killing. Millions of people would come from all over the United States to see the trial. Katie and her uncle Jeff a news reporter get to go to the trial everyday. Katie writes every word that she hears and even has a scrap book so this is a big thing for Katie.
If you like a true mystery then this book is for you. It's and exciting, can't put the book down story. I loved this book and I loved the way Jen Bryant explained every thing. So pick it up and read it and good luck putting it down.

Ever heard of having a book proofed before going to press?Review Date: 2007-11-03
The weak writing was surpassed by the incredible lack of proofing of the photographs that were included. In many instances, the particular player being described in a photo was actually cut out of the picture. I think Eli Gold owed us more than this weak rehash of a great subject.
End result...many, including this reviewer, will purchase the book for the subject matter...too bad it lacked in quantity and quality photography. Apologies to Coach Bryant!!!!! Roll Tide

For Believers OnlyReview Date: 2008-07-01
A book that is changing lives!Review Date: 2005-12-19
It's very obvious that this book is extremely anointed so much so that Satan will use someone who is ignorant of how spirits operate in the body, to spew forth anything negative to deter those who may truly be blessed by it and set free. I encourage anyone who is seeking knowledge of the inner working of spirits and they work together to get this book and get "Who's in your Body with you" I believe they should be read together.
For me this is an awesome study guide to what is truly happening to us as go's children on this earth. We are here for the Glory of the Lord, and must be girded up everyday for spiritual warfare in order to for fill his purpose in our lives.
We have so many scientist and doctors who are passing out medical analyses, and medical terms, and quick fix medications to explain the way people behave. We often pass off our emotions to be apart of our character, or the reasons why we do things and treat each other, as it "just being the way we were brought up."
If you are truly are seeking understanding, I again implore you to pray before getting this book to ask the father if this is right for you. I also pray that you will pray after every chapter you read asking God to give you a spirit of discernment and wisdom as to what is going on inside of you and seek help in receiving the healing power of deliverance. You don't have to seek our Bishop Bryant himself, but seek someone who is gifted in that area as a deliverance minister.

Stevie on her Best Behavior?!?Review Date: 2004-07-14
The other plot line with Brittney and Magoo was not as entertaining to me because I thought that the entire idea of making her a Saddle Club member was pretty clueless on the parts of Stevie, Carole, and Lisa. I still give it five stars for its humor though.

The content under the heading 'Cultivation' is very general and extremely high level, not sufficient to properly guide one in growing flowers, as we all know in many instances the requirements do differ depending on the hybrid..
Great book for pictures and perhaps for persons who just need an overview of types of flowers in existence but not for a serious gardener.....lots more work needed
