Overtime was an excellent read. The art is really awesome and I think these guys are going places. There were only a few printed, so the collectible value is pretty high.

Wow. I bought this book because Ted Chiang mentioned it as an inspiration in an interview. I can certainly see where Chiang got some of his style. This is an amazing book, especially the titular story. Bryant draws beautiful characters who are intimately concerned with pursuing meaning in their own lives, irregardless of the science fiction premise in which they are places. His stories succeed because they are science fiction stories about people. The science seems sound and never forced.

The final story is a poem brilliantly contrasting the lifespan of a human with the infinite expansion and contraction of the universe.

A lovely collection. It's a crime this isn't currently in print.

After an introductory chapter on the effect media has on one's perception of the world, the majority of the book addresses the effects of television; it's role in aculturation and cultivation, the effects of violence as a social learning response, television as a source of addiction, television as an instrument of education, televisions effect on personality and televisions effect on children. Other topics covered are: pornography, early election projections, uses and gratification, the entertainment experience, and media effect on attention. The book concludes with a section on the nature of an Information Society.

my book is dated 1878 and is a hard bound I enjoy reading this to my kids...some is rather deep and dark, as he talks alot of death, but it is interesting.

Amazing is all that can explain this book. The pictures in this book are some of the best photographes I have ever seen of the City of Roses. If you are interested in Portland, or even if you live there, you must see this book. Nothing is any better.

A concise, colorful history of the first 120 winners of America's most famous horse race. A short page story accompanies each lovingly done portrait. This lady knows how to draw horses--she doesn't pretty them up, she shows them how they are, beautiful enough without having to add any artificial ingredients. The stories are fascinating if you are a racing fan or like to read biographies of people and animals. The book is relatively inexpensive for art and history of this quality

This book is a must for anyone interested in 20th Century Central European history. The Author Chad Bryant, does a very through job in helping an American of Czech descent, understand what happened in detail to the Czech people,with both positive and negative results of what can happen to a people under control,desparate for survival.
