Encouragement for Mothers!

I am so happy to have come across this book! It is attractive and eye-catching, and even better as you investigate it! I am a mother of 5 children, and this book encourages me greatly. I feel like the author understands right where I am, and lives a life similar to mine! Included in the reflections of life as a mother, are meaningful prayers, and real-life, brief stories. The author brings smiles, and provokes appreciation and enjoyment of life. Of course, with the book comes a CD, of music by Mozart. The music is relaxing and soul-lifting! I am planning to buy several more of these books to give to friends! What a boost!

An ecclectic set of useful essays on many facets.
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.

The format of this book is a bit different--it is an ecclectic set of useful essays that deal with various facets of the musical situation in the 17th century. While it is heavily weighted towards the musical situation in Italy, there are some chapters that cover developments in other parts of Europe. Given Bianconi's other texts, it should come as no surprise that this text is very opera-centric, and in fact, the author cites the development of opera as the defining feature of this period. While the various essays do not delve into extensive detail, as a whole, they provide a thourgh portrait of the 17th century.

My Boss Sucks: A Story Book and Survival Guide presents the stories of ordinary people dealing with bad bosses of every size, shape, and makeup. A handful of humorous, hand-drawn cartoons illustrate these often quirky, usually amusing (from the perspective of the reader, if not the unfortunate who had to deal with the boss), and always instructive true-life tales. A literal survival guide that illustrates by example how best to deal with the worst of office tyrants, and when the best solution of all is simply walking away. Highly recommended.

This is our second purchase of this book. We gave the first one away to a dear friend who was born in Newport News and now lives in Richmond. This is a fascinating collection of postcards, some of which include comments about the city and its growth as a shipbuilding community. We love and collect postcards ourselves so this was a real treat.

This book is wonderfully put together. Not only does it go into depth about the history of the olympics, but it also includes wonderful pictures. From the beginning to the present, this book tells all. The author goes into how the equestrian sport started in the olympics and to the uncertain future. There are endless profiles on famous riders and their famous horses. This is a wonderful book to add to your library.

In this book, Bryant captures the reader's attention with contemporary issues; but provides valuable insight about the issues from the eternal truth of God's word (not his own opinion and not necessarily the "politically correct" explanation.)

An easy read that works nicely as a daily devotional.

The message is "right from Bryant's heart" but clearly Jesus is dwelling there!

Opening to the Infinite - an opening of truth in the world
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2003-10-19
It is becoming increasingly evident, on scales of global awareness, the essential difference between what has become charectarized as "New Age" and the goal of human spiritual evolution: the Multidimensional Age. Drawing rational conclusions from theoretical physics, transpersonal psychology, psychic research, and case studies, A. Bryant and L. Seebach present this remarkable study on the multidimensional potential of human beings. What is great about the book is it does not promulgate any belief system or presupposition on the basis of current trends in New Age culture; instead it guides the reader directly to the source and memory of the originary new age experience. Remote viewer Ingo Swann forewords the conclusions by the authors in the areas of DNA, memory, multidimensional consciousness and evolutionary biology. Case studies are used to describe unique individuals called multidimensionals. A multidimensional individual experiences reality in many more dimensions and processes information in ways our general culture and psychology cannot comprehend. The multidimensional individual is able to perceive, remember, and assimilate knowledge from higher-dimensions of space and time. As forerunners of human evolution these individuals may one day change the way we look at science, spirituality, philosophy, art, medicine, and life in general. Many of the difficulties the multidimensional indivdual experiences in our society (standardized human beliefs - pre-evolutioned systems, school etc.) are also given antedotes for parents, teachers, and friends so they can better understand and learn to validate these individuals for what they truly represent for the future of humankind.

As the title suggests "Opening to the Infinite" is about opening our minds to the possibilities of the infinite, and a world without borders or boundaries, a world without limitations, rules, or even control; and essentialy, opening our consciousness to the reality of multidimensionality. Opening to the Infinite truly is an opening, for the eyes and mind, as well an opening of truth within the world.

The State of the Art as it Exists Today
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2004-12-13
In the late 1970's the physics and engineering came together to enable the construction of a new generation of optoelectronic devices with enhanced performance such as the quantuum well lasers. The physical theory said that this could be done and the mechanical assembly of semiconductors using the epitaxial growth of planar structures which enabled monolayer thickness made the devices practical. Enhancement of the techniques since has driven down the price of components dramatically downward (the low price of CD-ROM readers and players is the result). While the thickness of the layers has been easy to control, the other two dimensions has proven much more difficult.

In the past few years, new techniques have come into being that offer great promise in the fabrication of devices that are not planer (two dimensional) but linear (one dimensional - a wire) or even a single dot (of almost no dimension).

This book, edited by Dr. Glenn Solomon of Stanford and Dr. Garnett Bryant of NIST researchers from around the world have contributed chapters that cover the state of the art in how quantum dots and wires are fabricated and applied to optics. This is as cutting-edge a book on the subject as is possible to put together today.

Alecia shares her story of her father's example of Christ and the influence it had her spiritual growth. A sweet story of God's love and powerful effect of prayer and servanthood on a child's heart. A good book for all who want there child to be inspired to spend time with and for their heavenly father.

Excellent source of data gathering charts that media specialists can use to justify budgets, staffing, scheduling and program curriculum needs to those in charge of school funding for libraries. Author allows photocopying of the forms so busy librarians don't have to develop them on their own. Great explanations on how to gather data, interpret it and use it successfully.
