I knew when I placed this order, that the basics would be there. The bodies, the scenery. However when you get inside of this book you are awestruck in witnessing not just a collection of photographs by a great artisan, but an artists total vision followed through to its completion. Raymond Vino's work here is without equal. The photgraphy is the best I've seen in a long time, and the paperstock and binding are top notch. This will make any coffee table pround. Caro Raymond, L'Oro per L'Oro.

This is my 1st introduction to Raymond Vino's photography, and all I can say is "Where has he been?" This south Florida photographer can stand next to all the other well-known great photographers (Jeff Palmer, Howard Roffman, etc.) These black and white photographs of male couples with attractive athletic bodies are the main images in this book. This photos are erotic and show a tender romanticism. These photographs are a welcome relief from the overdeveloped and overposed male models of some other photographers. These guys are your everyday, natural males you might have as a neighbor, friend or co-worker.

Now that Raymond Vino has been discovered, I eagerly await his next collection of beautiful photographs. I highly recommend this book.

When They Died

Review Date: 2001-01-26
A collection of short stories by the acclaimed Polish author killed by the Nazis during World War II. Unrecognized still even after the war, Schulz is in some circles now considered the finest modern Polish-language prose stylist. His stories are dreamlike reflections on life in the modest Jewish quarter of Drohobycz, the town of his birth. Both his fiction and drawings are notable for their erotic tenor and their acute anticipation of the emptiness produced by modern civilization.

Beautiful prose

Schulz has an ability to make even the most ordinary event revolutionary and poetic. A book transforms into a magical, almost living entity in the young narrator's mind. A look into a friend's stamp collection draws allusions to Alexander the Great's quest for world domination. His descriptions bring life to every minute detail. I only wish I knew Polish to read the original words.

To anyone who has lost their appreciation for pure, mellifluous prose, I refer you to Bruno Schulz. These are our own personal memories as we experience them in dreams. His grasp of the human psyche is dazzling. Every paragraph surges with vitality and wonder.

The setting is 1930's Poland, but that doesn't stop Schulz from climbing inside your soul and reconstructing your entire childhood... as he describes phenomena such as a summer night or an excursion through town!

My edition is published by Penguin Books and includes the author's own illustrations. These unforgettable drawings are of the characters going about their business, riding horses, and occasionally defying gravity. This is the Mariner edition. Make sure you get an editon with the pictures.

Bruno Schulz has one other book, "Street Of Crocodiles." Also recommended!

This fiction is like looking out a window at a Las Vegas water show under colored lights: riotious, gorgeous and original. Everything by this Galician Polish Jewish writer/artist is genius.
The title story "The Sanitorium Under the Sign of the Hourglass" deals with Schulz's fantastic visit to his deceased father in the afterworld.

In Polish the title literally reads "the Sanitorium beneath the hourglass." However, the term Hourglass (klepsydra) is also used for death notices that are posted on bulletin-boards in public squares. Hence the allusion to a death notice in the title.

This brilliant collection brings together the highlights of gay comic art, painting and drawing from around the world. It features the work of many big names, as well as yet unknown talents in excellent printing quality.

On 352 pages!!! there is a great variety of artworks from erotic to sexy to naughty. This book is more than worth it's price.

This is a great compilation of works. It's definitely a collector's item, a must have for anyone interested in male art.

This TRULY wonderful collection of artwork from a variety or artists is a MUST HAVE for anyone interested in gay art. I proved several examples from a WIDE variety of artists and is a VERY thick book. Pages are a LITTE small, but not too bad. If it had been a larger more coffee table example of a book, that would have made it even better. But as is it's a greta book to have.

Even each piece of work should speak for its own, I'd wished it had at least some writings for each piece of work - ie showpiece titles and artists biographies. Currently it's just pictures and pictures, back to back.

...but I'm not complaining. Excellent printing quality and features a great compilation of works. It's a collector's item.

Male Erotica!

This is an outstanding collection of erotica. Illustrations and drawings are really high quality and very erotic. Trust me, folks, these are not "cartoons" - but very stimulating and suggestive drawings of stylized "men" (no, these guys don't really exist....). Most people think that "explicit" equals "erotic". Wrong. Erotic is evoked through the imagination, and these artists have LOTS of imagination!

Evora skillfully crafts truth and fiction in this book. As the end draws near you begin to learn of a hopeful ending. Evora carefully reveals the foreboding truth in her well written Epilogue. The fictional and true story are incredible mysteries. I could not put the book down, as the stories raced on parallel tracks.

An older gentleman on a shopping trip with his wife in Maine approaches a store employee. Has she seen his wife? The man reports his wife missing to the Belfast Maine Police, but the man's story is full of holes. Did his wife really disappear or is something more sinister afoot?

Enter Hannah Gray, investigator/counselor. The police have asked her for her help in the crime. And as it happens, the missing woman is a friend of Hannah. While plunging into the disppearance of her friend, Hannah is embroiled the construction of the House from Hell. Will the problems with her contractors and the building site ever end? Will the true story of the missing Victoria ever come to light?

Based on a true crime that still remains officially unsolved, Evora Jordan's tale moves along smoothly. Unlike some mystery tales, Hannah Gray never seems to be a gimmick or a bundle of quirks posing as a person. Hannah could be the lady next door or the person in front of you at the grocery store. Some passages recall Ann Rule with the attention to detail and the lives of everyone involved in a missing persons/crime investigation. Small things like Hannah's love of a good McDonalds breakfast sandwich or the dedicted bargain shopper's experience at Deny's.

A attentive and clever reader may figure out the who and wheres before the end but Tainted Sand will not be a tainted read.

Awesome Book!! I remember reading about this in the Bridgton, Maine newspaper.

I couldn't put the book down until I finished it. I even called
in sick at work. I found out that Evora Jordan has another new book, a children's book, with a message for both children and adults, called 'Annie Love'. It's another great book, I'd rate it five stars also.

The male body is seen in various stages of sexual arousal, many in full arousal. This is truly a book of erotica. Again, well worth the purchase.

Of all the romantic, erotic nude picture books I've seen this is by far the most beautiful. I may be biased since I'm half-Italian myself and have dated 2 men from Italy, but these men are extremely handsome, passionate and erotic and this book clearly shows that in the breathtaking color pictures - many of couples posing together. The models on the cover, Victor Racek and Ettori Tosi, convey passion and true masculine beauty. A first-class book - it's worth the price to add to your collection!

Italian men have a tendency of being just plain sexy. This book proves the concept in an elegant and eloquent way. The pictures of these men clearly bespeak the beauty of the nude male form, and the sensuality associated thereto. The models, locales, and themes of the pictures permit the viewer a buffet of magnificent
men. Buy this book and enjoy its erotic beauty.

The best Bruno and Boots book- Gordon Korman really fleshes out the situations at both Miss Scrimage's and Macdonald Hall as he does in no other book. The antics are not just those of Bruno and Boots, but also of Cathy and Diane, their friends from the girls' school. While part of the plot forces one to suspend one's disbelief, this is an extremely funny book.

Humorous and Heartwarming Parenting Essays
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2001-05-29
Beth Bruno really knows families, and she really knows writing. Melding these two areas of her greatest expertise, she has recently published her first book, "Wild Tulips." Each chapter begins with a vividly-described vignette drawn from her life or from the experience of one of her children or other relatives, and concludes with an insight into human nature. For instance, the section "Late Bloomers" starts with the story of her now-grown son's attention difficulties in kindergarten and first grade, and ends with a reflection on teacher-student "styles" and the necessity for parents to be advocates for their children. She says, "Significant differences between student and teacher learning styles or personalities may strongly affect learning outcomes for individual students...Parents usually know their children best...Cooperation and persistence will most likely lead to effective changes." Beth Bruno's style is conversational and friendly, and she tells a good story. The details she describes, like "I rolled a sheet of 4" x 6" paper into an Underwood manual typewriter" and "Geoff and David scampered down the hill to the family garden, opened the chicken-wire gate, and began snacking on plump strawberries, lettuce, and sugar snap peas right off the vine," draw readers into the scene of the tales. At the end of each vignette is a piece of wisdom or advice-never heavy-handed-but one which readers can often apply to their own lives. The author writes with honesty about the mistakes she has made, as well as about the satisfactions and joys she derives from her family and her work. Many of her pieces are grounded in family values from a gentler, slower time: kids riding their bikes around the neighborhood instead of watching TV, extended family vacations at a cabin on the shores of Lake Michigan, mother-child talks over a sink full of dishes. Yet she is never saccharine: she acknowledges marital conflicts, strong-willed children, and the need for discipline. Her candid style does not gloss over the fact that it is difficult being a stepmother, parenting a teen, or raising an infant. Beth Bruno has spent decades as a daughter, granddaughter, wife, mother, stepmother, teacher, and counselor, and each of her roles as a student of human nature deepens the wisdom from which she draws her writing. Each brief section of "Wild Tulips" indicates that the author lives fully and thoughtfully. She is a close observer of the people around her-ranging from an employer (a former SS commander) for whose daughter she acted as nanny, to a lively four-year-old who would rather count dead flies than answer assessment questions--and she recounts her wide-ranging experiences with them in a way that makes the reader ponder, wipe a moist eye, or chuckle. Wild Tulips' unifying metaphor is that of a flower garden, the essays falling under such chapter headings as "Seedlings, " "Nutrients, " Harvest," and "Pests." Each piece is 1 ½ to 3 pages long; readers can sample specific topics, for instance, reflections on spanking, Alzheimer's, making a marriage last, and environmental allergies, or can go through the chapters consecutively. The beauty of this format is that even people with little unbroken time to devote to reading-young parents, harried businesspersons, hassled teachers or overburdened students-can partake, and be refreshed by Bruno's humor and wisdom in just a few moments. The book's lessons are accessible, yet lasting. (I envision copies of the book kept in the bathroom book-and-magazine basket, in the car for reading during traffic jams, and at the back of the bed for those few minutes before a person drops off to sleep.) In "Wild Tulips," Beth Bruno reflects on her experiences as the wife of a public figure, as a parent, and as a mental health professional. She holds master's degrees in clinical psychology and education from Yeshiva and Harvard Universities, and has worked as a school psychologist. She began her professional writing career with a newspaper column in 1995, and has since written and edited for other print publications and for internet sites. She is a member of several organizations, including the Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association, and is a contributing editor of CAPA's monthly newsletter, "The Authority." The beauty, humor, and wisdom which Beth Bruno expresses in her book stem from what parents and children have taught her during ordinary times in homes and schools. She concludes her introduction with these words: "I know intuitively that you and I--regardless of differences in race, culture, religion, or circumstances-have a common bond. We deeply love our children and strive to do what is best for them; at the same time we strive for personal growth, to do what is best for ourselves. Each life, like each flower in a garden, has a beauty all its own." Anyone who has ever been a child or loved a child will find something to appreciate in "Wild Tulips."

Beth Bruno's "Wild Tulips" takes us through the seasons in the garden of life, taking clippings from her experiences as a child, young adult, wife, parent, educator, psychologist and writer. "Wild Tulips" is sprinkled with anecdotes from her own, her family's, friends'and clients' lives that show how precious this garden is though it may be occasionally invaded by pests. It is cultivated with wit and Bruno's common-sense philosophy of life. Readers, no matter what their stage in the garden, will harvest a greater appreciation of the wonders of life.

It is rare to find a book that tells so much about family life in such a clean, clear style. Beth Bruno's book, Wild Tulips touched me in a number of ways. As the fathter of a 12-year old girl and a 16-year old boy, I need all the advice on parenting I can find in order to maintain my sanity. While I too have been subjected to "racoons" attacking my metaphorical family garden I never knew how to properly deal with these pesky creatures. Bruno's book offers valuable insights into the dos and don'ts of getting through the rough patches that plague every family garden. Mike Covello

About parenthood's lifelong, fulltime commitment, she says that beginning with the birth of a baby, "Spontaneity is history." Delighted as she has been with her own years as a parent, she still cautions against unrealistic expectations: So, just remember, all you teenagers and young couples who romanticize parenthood. Think twice and be prepared. Because when you say, "Hello, baby," you simultaneously say, "Goodbye, freedom." That's why these books are so useful. You wouldn't want to tear up the full version of Frisky Memeories, but this collection is made for it.

If you're a fan of the Men of Falcon, then this book is for you. It's jam packed with photos of a lot of the hot men of Falcon Studios. The photos are beatifully done. The book is softcover but made of heavy stock paper. I would recommend adding this book to your collection.

OK...one says FALCON, and the response should be..."woof"...this book will have you howling...hot men from a hot studio.

Falcon shows us in this publication what an amazing stable of hot studs their studio has employed past and present. These boys
are simply knockouts. Handsome, well-endowed and virile, Heroes
will do more than just keep you interested...
