I was a little hesitant to buy this without actually seeing some of the pictures. Luckily, I was able to fine a website that sold the calander and had some pictures available to view. I liked what I saw and took a chance on the book. I have to say, that the photographs in this book are amazing! I am very pleased that I took a chance on this photography book, I will be looking into other photography books by Fred Goudon.

I am in the process of learning to draw people and this book was a great help. There are photos of male nudes, which I prefer, in various poses and lighting.

There are so many poses to choose from, that I have used this book as a training tool for myself over and over again. The male models are all very good looking, pleasing to my eye, and in fine form. There is even one that is my favorite as the model is smiling faintly at the camera in a slightly teasing manner. His smile is so infectious that I didn't realize his was nude until much later!! Unfortunately, the photo doesn't capture all of this model in his naked form! Like I said, it's a tease.

Great book with fantastic photography.

I don't usually care for this type of book, full of the same beautiful young Caucasian men as one sees in Freshmen magazine. It gets so that I start to feel as if seeing one is seeing them all. However, I make an exception here. The colors are vibrant; the tenderness palpable; and, yes, one can almost feel that touching sensual and erotic intimacy. If only these exquisite photos were only the norm, what a beautiful world it would be!

Josh is the protagonist in this wonderfully sensual color photography book. Very engaging romps between him and his friends. This young man is pure heaven.

Michael Taubenheim takes us and his young men on an intimate journey to lonely places and remote woods. A voyage of erotic discovery.

Beautiful classical male nude photography. Good looking models!

A slim, elegant collection of dreams, compiled by journalist Charlotte Beradt and smuggled out of Germany during the 1930s in code. Published in the 1960s with a terrific afterward by Bruno Bettleheim (I think he's a bit hard on her though--she wasn't a psychologist), it's bizarre that this book has received so little attention. Somebody needs to do a cheap paperback edition & get it out in the world. These dreams show--with haunting resonance--how people are remade from the inside out by totalitarian regimes.

These are the records of a psychoanalyst who kept a diary of patient dreams in Germany during the rise of the Third Reich. The book traces the ways in which the rising tide of Fascism infected the unconscious lives of ordinary Germans, skewing their dreams towards increasingly brutal and nightmarish reflections of the pathology of Nazism. A profound and disturbing book.

As I have come to expect, another first class effort from Histoire & Collections. While I can't describe this book as all-encompassing, or totally comprehensive, I believe it provides an oustanding, well illustrated overview of the subject. Apart from numerous, well reproduced period photos, virtually all the many illustrations are in color. The original uniforms, photographed on current live models, are especially good. Full dress , as well as combat uniforms are covered in detail, along with a good chapter on female Marines, and shorter chapters on Navy corpsmen, and Seabees, both assigned to Marine units.
In my opinion, this publisher can be counted upon to offer truly valuable military titles, covering many countries, for a very fair price.
Also, for books that are almost always translated from the original French, there are few typos, in fact often fewer from books I have read that were published originally in English.
If you have any interest at all in the USMC of WWII, you should own this book.

Another great uniform reference book by Historie & Collections at a reasonable price. Large format, quality glossy paper with sharp clear photos, all English text. Has original B&W period photos along with hundreds of modern color photos of officer/enlisted dress/combat uniforms, headgear, weapons, fieldgear and insignia. Many of the photos are full page models wearing original uniforms. Did you know there were 3 classes (A,B,C) of the enlisted Dress Blue uniform or when camouflaged utilities/helmet covers were introduced? I didn't. Includes large interesting sections on Women Marines and Navy Corpsmen and smaller sections on the SeaBees and Marine occupation forces in China 1945-46. This book must surely have color photos of everything a Marine wore or carried from the beginning to the end of WWII. I really can't praise this quality book enough. Every time I open it I learn something new. It is a must have.

This book would make a very good movie. Author made you have compassion for the type of person Vito was. Had a good twist to it and it was hard to put down.

I really liked this book. I couldn't stop reading it. It grabbed my attention and held it until the very end. I'd be willing to bet Quentin Tarantino could take this story and run with it. Very fast read. I loved the twists and turns and the characters.

I just bought this book...I love it!...Great pics that get the juices flowing.

The author draws from economic data and history, not opinion poll data, to support his case that economic data and a voter's sense of well-being figure prominently in election outcomes. It's a solid scholarly study.

Very interesting reading. Makes me look at things a little bit differently. He explains recessions and their effect on social mood and elections. He shows why Democrats and Republicans win elections and why Obama is the "man of the hour" at this time in history even if Clinton wins the nomination. He also gets into some forgotten labor movement history. Sometimes the book is hard to follow but overall its well done. +++++
