Brooks Books

We checked this book out from the library every time it was available, so we finally just decided to buy it. Our almost-two year old loves it. It has simple, repetitive text, and she likes to find the spots. It's also fairly short, which can be nice when we are reading it for the fifteenth time that day :)

I can't think of a better way of grasping the fundamentals of civil engineering and landscape architecture than by using this software. The fact that it is interactive facilitates your comprehension and builds your confidence over the problems presented, and there are plenty of practice problems.

You can read all the books you want on the subject, but none will make you proficient at "doing it" like this software.

Great tool.

Besides the fact that this book is one of the most-loved children's books of all time, the Spanish version is a great educational tool for all teachers and students of advanced middle school and high school Spanish. I have been a Spanish teacher in a high-rated public school district for 17 years, and I have been using this novel as an in-class reading project for the past 6. Along with three other teachers who teach at my level, we have convinced the foreign language department to make reading this novel a requirement for all students at this level. Almost all tenses are present-- past, present, future, and even some irregular verbs. I also reccomend this novel for students to read over the summer to keep their minds fresh and to keep them from going off-track. For whatever purpose, I highly reccomend this wonderfully-translated version of the timeless children's classic.

I purchased the book for my sister who gives talks on home nursing care. She said she stayed up half the night reading it!! "I can't believe there's so many jokes - and they're all CLEAN"!!!!

This is the first of a long series of novels that propels the reader into the heart, soul and terror of revolutionary France, Marie Antoinette, Marat, Robespierre, Napoleon, Catherine the Great of Russia, Nelson and many great historical characters of late 18th century and early 19th Century Europe. This is the best way in my opinion of learning history, by reading about it as a novel and a character that intertwines with the leading movers and shakers of the time.

Having run away from England to escape being commissioned in the Navy by his father Christopher, Roger runs away to France rather than face the harsh life of a Royal Navy Midshipman. He takes up life in France with little knowledge of French, but then works his way up the influential and political ladder. The launching of Roger Brook essentially establishes the character and starts off his life in France for the forthcoming novels that will leave you wanting to read them all.

Wheatley has a fascinating style of leading you down a path of suspense only to keep you hanging until you think all is lost, only to "reel you back in". Buy it, read it and learn from it and the other Roger Brook novels and you will learn probably more about the French revolution and the character of Napolean than any source of history book.

Bill Brooks' Law for Hire series is a delight filled with well drawn characters and settings. Pinkerton operative Teddy Blue is called for by Buffalo Bill Cody. Cody's planning another big hunting expidition, in hopes he can use the profits to fund another Wild West show.

Suspicious, superstitious, still spooked by the recent murder of Wild Bill and "Georgie" Custer being slaughtered (these things happen in threes, see) and tired Cody feels he needs protection. Plus, someone did try to shoot him.

Teddy Blue, fresh from springing a friend out of jail, takes on the assignment. It's dangerous as a mentally unstable man has decided on a whim to take out Cody, while the son of the warrior Yellow Hand escapes from his reservation school and seeks to elimnate his father's killer which he believes will help reclaim his true heritage.

Exciting, lyrical and poignant.

Stanley was much too busy promoting his business to pay attention to his beautiful wife, Perrin. One thing you don't do is neglect the woman in your life, because there's always another man out there to give her a good time.

"Led Into Temptation," Perrin was hurt, lonely, and she needed the loving touch of her husband, until she found her pleasure elsewhere. This story was well written, Stanley and Perrin were realistic characters, and the love scene was hot! Nathasha Brooks-Harris is an exceptional writer and I look forward to reading more of her work.
