A Definite Book for the Young Adult

I found this was one of the best books I have ever read. The book teaches teenagers and younger children how to get over their fears by facing them. In the book where Luke has to face going out in the bridge to save the leader of the TrueLanders from the oncoming train, shows that you must never let your fears overcome you when you need to face them to do something important. I just thought it was a good book and even though I read it when I was 13 years old and I am twenty now I feel the moral of the story still applies to be today. It's definitely a book I recommend.

Background on the Bridge to Freedom

Review Date: 2007-10-18
This is a copy of the monthly journal of the Bridge to Freedom.

The Bridge to Freedom was established in 1951 by Geraldine Innocente and other Students of the Ascended Masters, after she received what was believed to be an Anointing to become a Messenger for the Great White Brotherhood.

The members of The Bridge to Freedom claimed that a Dispensation and Sponsorship was given by the Ascended Masters for this Ascended Master Activity to be an outer organization representing the "Great Brotherhood of Light", and a continuation of the previous efforts by the Ascended Masters to bring Illumination to mankind through Theosophy, Agni Yoga, and the The "I AM" Activity.

The members of The Bridge to Freedom believed that Ascended Master El Morya contacted Geraldine Innocente in 1944 and asked her to make a certain application on a daily basis. The story was told that Morya returned one year later asking if she would consent to receive a series of Discourses from the Maha Chohan. Geraldine was said to have agreed, and then underwent years of training in preparation for her role in the 1950s as a Messenger for the Ascended Masters, Archangels, Cosmic Beings, Elohim, and Others of the Spiritual Hierarchy. She served officially in the capacity of Messenger in from the inaugural Vesta Dictation on July 17, 1951 until her transition on June 21, 1961.

The Bridge to Freedom claimed that in 1952 the Ascended Master Saint Germain stated that:

" . . . It was never intended to start a 'new' Activity, but to broaden the field of service of the present Activity, by engaging the competent and willing service of lifestreams not presently allowed full expression of their talents in 'widening the borders of the Father's Kingdom.' Many hundreds of thousands of souls have not been privileged to receive the Instruction brought forth in My Name, due to barriers of language, limitation in the production and distribution of illuminating literature and the unhappy 'excommunications' which resulted from misunderstanding of a human nature. . . . A way and means by which We might reach the consciousness of the people had to be devised. 'The Bridge' was the solution to this problem. Mrs. Ballard was informed prior to any other individual of the purpose for which The Bridge came forth and was courteously invited to allow Us the opportunity of supporting her work and performing through other well qualified individuals the task of reaching other lifestreams than those presently blessed by the knowledge of The "I AM" Activity. . . . The Sun cannot limit its shining to one beam, nor the Love of God to one human consciousness, no matter how well attuned it may have been to the Vibrations of the Masters. The souls of men are our concern, all men, of all colors, all countries, because from the Flame in their hearts will come the Illumination which will make this Dark Star a Flaming Sun of Freedom. . . . "

An excellent meta-view of human evolution

Review Date: 2006-05-02
In this book, Goldschmidt, an emeritus anthropologist, pulls together several strands of scientific work on genetics and cognition into a view of human evolution that provides some deep insights into what makes us human. One of the primary insights that he builds on is the recent discovery of mirror neurons, which allow us to learn through observation. Goldschmidt's idea that the evolution of language and tool making are related is also a valuable one. But most important is his overarching idea that affect hunger is the source of culture; that it is a biological need, yet one that connects us with others, and therefore encourages the cooperation and empathy that makes culture and civilzation possible.

I just finished reading Bridge to Paradise, and was completely amazed at the quality of this book. I would highly recommend reading this book, and possibly even purchasing it. For a true Christian, this book is a great example of what a true believer in Christ should be like, and what a believer faces in his Christian walk with the Lord. Also I would recommend this book to teenagers, no matter what their walk in life is. Truly this is one of the best books I have ever read!

"The author presents a novel method for expressing complex subjects in an easy to understand yet thought provoking manner. His "folksy" writing style reads more like a friendly conversation then a text book. A quick read and a great tool for anyone looking to improve their personal decision making process, and who isn't!"

This sheet music is everything I hoped it would be. It contains all of the pop songs found on the CD soundtrack as well as one piano piece for Aaron Zigman's "Seeing Terabithia." All of the pop songs include vocals, guitar chords, and piano. If you like the CD and you'd like to play the songs yourself, this book comes highly recommended.

Fantastic Experience -- Wonderful Play

I had the good fortune of playing Brenda in the very first production of this play version of Patterson's classic. I'd never read the book prior to being cast in the play, but now (quite a few years later!) I have my own daughter, and we read it together. The play is a wonderful adaptation of the novel, and both the book and music simply shine. Audiences responded quite well to it, at the junior high and high school level. Highly recommended for the right group. (Better yet if you can find a really good dog trainer!)

I have the July 1990 edition and read it with the same enthusiasm I had reading "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follet. I have placed these two books together on my shelf and have recommended both of them to many of my friends. I'm just sorry that it's not available in hard cover.
