This book really makes you wonder what you have eaten in all of the restaurants you have been in your lifetime. It has funny stories you can relate too. You won't go into a restaurant and be able to just eat your meal without checking everything out. You will find yourself noticing things you never dreamed of. You might even find yourself getting up and walking out of what you thought was a great place to eat. I know I walked into a local Pizza Hut and waited at the door to get my order. First thing I noticed were the menus on the floor. Several of their workers walked by without ever picking them up. I asked one of them if they were going to pick them up and if they would be washed off before being used again. He said yes, they always washed them if they hit the floor. Before this book, I would probably have never paid any attention to things like this.

Your eyes will get wider with each page as "oh my gosh!" is repeated again and again in your head. This book is truly an eye opener in safe/hygienic restaurant dining. This book is a must read for those who enjoy restaurant dining, and should be required for all restaurant managers and employees. The scorecard in chapter 10 makes evaluating a restaurant a breeze. I recommend that managers use this scorecard as part of a customer feedback form as a way to insure that they are doing everything they can to provide a safe and pleasant dining experience. Happy dining!

A must read one of a kind consumer dining guide. You will learn everything you need to know so you can dine safely away from home. The easy to read style kept me turning pages. I would not have suffered the indignities of my food-borne illness if I had had this book to read before I ate that seafood green salad.

Just a wonderful tutorial for the fledgling and aspiring cook -- covering all of the possible cuts a supermarket has to offer (whatever is on sale!).

With variety highlighting the world's cuisines and revolving around the four seasons, this work should make a welcome beginning or addition to any cook's library.

Our daughter-in-law received this book as a Christmas gift and prepared one of the recipes for us when we visited. The chicken breasts with lemon and cranberry sauce were very elegant looking and absolutely delicious, and she said the dish was so easy to prepare. We're definitely ordering this cookbook and can't wait to try all the great recipes.

This is an incredible book and surely one that all leaders must read! For many years I knew in my spirit that these issues addressed in the book were true I just didn't have the know how in resource materials. The issues are addressed in a readable manner and explained very much in detail.

There is a wealth of resources shared for further study. This is a high recommend on my list.

I have it listed in my bookstore on my website, Praise God!

AN INTELLIGENT, BALANCED LOOK AT SCRIPTURE VS. TRADITION

Mr. Trombley gives a thorough examination of the commonly quoted teachings that keep women out of ministry positions. The references to historical church and Talmudic documents as well as current writing on the subject are presented clearly. It would be difficult to view Paul or God as misogynists or to view women as inferior beings created for the purpose of submission after reading this book. The conclusion is reached gently, after looking into the question deeply. It has been of tremendous value to me as a woman, answering many of the nagging questions I've had for years, in which my relationship with God didn't match what I learned about women in the church.

One of the best books I've ever read

And definitely the best book I've read on 'women and ministry'. My wife and I especially like the chapters about the judaistic traditions, and the chapters about the male-headship-problem. Well, the whole book is extremely relevant and well written. It seems to me that Trombley is a very thorough and skilled scholar. I recommend this book. Especially to men. We have so much to learn. Why are so few Christian people (men!) aware of the truths presented in this book? I can only recommend that you buy the book for you, your friends and your pastors.

Relive Yellowstone Memories

For anybody who has worked at Yellowstone National Park, or has lived there, this book will stir up some wonderful memories. It takes you out on Lake Yellowstone in Jim Wolfe's fishing boat to see the park from a beautiful and unusual perspective as you learn the lore and share the Spirit of the Lake. It was a simpler time when there was fun to be had with other Savages who shared the same dreams for the future and awe of nature as it was found in Yellowstone. A happy, fun, and spiritually calming read, I recommend to any Yellowstoner or Savage.

Wolfe takes us to a great park at a great time. Yellowstone is absolutely magical and it shows in this book. Plus, he throws in a few tidbits about fishing in our great park. His memoir takes place in a day gone by. Things have changed. But the beauty, the wonder and the thrills are just like they were.

This book brings back great memories to those of us who have been lucky enough to work in the oldest and best national park.

I highly recommend this book for Lovers of Yellowstone. It chronicles the adventures of a Savage working there. It's well written, with great detail placed on the history and Magic of Yellowstone. If you want to relax and get lost in a era gone by, then this book is for you. This book does a good job of making the Savage experiences real. You get a sense that Yellowstone is not just a park but an au inspiring place. Great BOOK!!

1001 Things You Must Know Before You Die

Review Date: 2008-02-15

All my life I had wanted to read the Bible, but I kept putting it off for various reasons: not enough time; thought I wouldn't understand the language; or it just seemed like a lot of work! The style used in 1001 Things You Must Know Before You Die makes the process really a lot of fun. The questions lead to discussions about life that are not only interesting but thought provoking, too. I recently read this book with a friend on a long driving trip. As a passenger, I would read from the Bible and then together we would answer the questions. It was so much fun, we found ourselves looking forward to getting back into the car to continue the drive across the country. It is trully the greatest story of all time, and therefore a "must read". The format used in this particular book, surprisingly, made reading the entire New Testament such a pleasant experience, that now I will look forward to doing it over and over again! This could be a great Sunday night study with the kids or a wonderful travel book to make a long drive shorter. I would not hesitate to recommend 1001 Things You Must Know Before You Die to anyone who has wanted to know more about the Scriptures.

1001 Things You Should Know Before You Die I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! I first started reading this book with my husband and kids. We had such a fun time searching for the answers and had some great conversations! Later that night I snuck off to do more questions on my own. Prior to reading this book I would try to start reading my Bible all the way thru, staring with John. It was such a slow process for me that I would become disinterested and start skipping around. With this book I find myself reading straight thru the scriptures. Even if I know the next question is in the following chapter I don't want to miss anything! Using this question and answer technique makes it a game and I find myself not wanting to put it down but hurry up and find the next answer to the question! I love the fact that it's not a guessing game, that the answers are easily found, and that it doesn't require any interpretation. What a great and non threatening way to share God's word with both believers and non believers. This is a book you want to share not only with your family, friends, and bible study group, but also with the world! I'm excited to see where God will take this and the lives it will touch. Goose Bumps!!!

"13 Books" is not a book to be read lightly, it is a book where Leonard Koren explains the process that took place when he created his 12 books and a magazine. Koren is not only an author but an architect and artist. Several of his creations are: WET: The magazine of Gourmet Bathing; Wabi-Sabi; New Fashion Japan; The Graphic Design Cookbook; and, How to Take a Japanese Bath. Anyone familiar with Koren's work would find this book very enlightening.

Koren's format of writing this book is very different from anything I've seen before. He splits his page horizontally. For example, when explaining the inspiration for "17 Beautiful Men Taking a Shower" Koren , on the top portion of the pages, explains the subject matter, his inspiration, organizing principle and greatest difficulty. On the bottom portion of the pages he explains terminology such as: seventeen, art galleries, bathing.
I must say, this is a very creative way of writing, however, why would anyone be surprised coming from an eclectic artist as Koren.

Looking for an eclectic, yet very informative, read? This is it. You will come out by the end of the book much wiser, as well as have many thoughts evoked of your own personal experiences.

The author has put together an elaborate study of 30 unique and interesting modern bridges. The discussion of each is quite detailed and often very technical but nonetheless very informative and well supported by beautiful photographs and elaborate diagrams. For anyone who has an interest in modern bridges this is an eye-opener. For the few of us who travel with bridges as destinations, this is a wonderful guide for future trips.

4TH DIMENSIONAL LIVING IN A 3 DIMENSIONAL WORLD is eye-opening. Dr. Cho, the modest pastor from South Korea gives the keys to exercising and growing your dynamic faith and living victoriously in this powerful book. Cho is known around the world for growing a of more than 1 million members. He is less known for his fresh, revelatory insightful books of faith, wisdom and teaching.

4th Dimensional Living challenges the believer by bringing him face-to-face with the Word of God and the power of God available in daily living. The fullness of the power of God is available to every believer at all times in all places. If the faithful were to REALLY believe Christ when He promises that you can have what you say, their lives would be transformed, their walk turned upward, and faith taken to a higher level.

The "fourth dimension" Cho refers to is not time (Einstein) but a spiritual dimension where God dwells, beyond the three dimensions in which we live. We have access to that dimension by faith. Cho teaches that we can operate in that realm by thinking, faith, dreaming, and words.

All things are really possible with God.

This book is a shockingly accurate description of a friend of
mine. She is "The Troll" that Terry Cooper describes. After
reading this book, I highly recommend it to anyone who knows a
Troll. Trolls are highly secretive and avoid-ann-t. They don't
like non-Trolls knowing much about them. Specific chapters such
as "The Problem with Troll-Killing," "Accepting the Troll" and
"Crossing the Bridge" are excellent therapy. Finally, although
Trolls have bulbous noses and fat ankles...they make the best
friends. Good luck "crossing the bridge" - you'll need it!

I am a therapist in MA who specializes in women's issues, codependency, dissociative disorder, PTSD, all of which involve self-esteem problems. Dr. Cooper's book uses a gentle, humorous, nonjudgemental approach to help people understand their thoughts and reactions and offers solutions to make things better. I've been buying this book in quantities to make it readily available to my patients who are taking in its message and feeling better quicker! This book complements DBT group work and other cognitive behavioral approaches. Please don't ever let it go out of print!

This entire series is fantastic. The recipes are simple enough that those who are kitchen inept can prepare them and delicious enough to please the most sophisticated palate. I especially like the way the books are laid out: the font simulates handwriting as though someone's mom has passed along a favorite recipe and there are lots of great photos so that the end products can be easily envisioned. These recipes circulate endlessly among my friends and are a favorite with my bookclub. Definitely worth buying, for yourself and others!
