A student in my class read this book aloud for a drama exercise in voice and diction. I loved it! And, come to find out, the author's daughter (the cap) was in my class. Besides, representing my sister and I (I'm the crown), this book now has two special meanings for me.

one of the top five "oral histories" of the Vietnam War

Much of the finest literature out of the Vietnam War was its "oral histories." This overlooked volume is one of the best, ranking in the top five among 200 Vietnam vets interviewed. The interweaving of voices from the war and voices from the homefront capture the era between hammer and anvil and will tear your heart out. The other four? EVERYTHING WE HAD, BLOODS, A PIECE OF MY HEART and NAM: AN ORAL HISTORY.

Robin Shannon's "Cemeteries of Seattle" is a unique book which takes you on a visual tour through Seattle's cemeteries and their famous (and infamous) inhabitants. This book includes both historic and contemporary photographs of the cemeteries and gravesites as well as extremely interesting information about the significance of those interred within each cemetery.
This is a "must read" for any cemetery or history lover!

I saw the film CHOPPER, starring Eric Bana, and I was Amazed by the Story of Mark "Chopper" Read! I found this Book first, the sequel to the Bestselling Austrailan Hit biography. I Devoured it! I don't really read much about True Crime, But here was a unique and original voice, And this guy was not even in Jail when I was reading it! I was Blown Away! It keeps me on the Straight & Narrow. Hey Parents! Have a Smart-alecky Kid? Give 'em this book for Christmas, it'll change their Gangsta view of Crime & Criminals!

Ok I purchased this cookbook for one recipe and that was the Green Bean recipe but ended up loving the entire cookbook.

You will find quite a few recipes from the Grand Floridian and if you have ever eaten there you know everything is excellent. Several of the restaurants they feature are no longer around like the ones from the Disney Village now deemed the Disney Market Place so you are able to recapture a taste that is no longer around.

Even King Stephens Banquet Hall has a few recipes and we all know that is now Cinderella's dining room now. It is a good book with tons of delicious and savory food. The deserts will make you go wild.

I would recommend this book for people who can't cook and people who can. They are all simple and easy to prepare. Most are made with simple ingredients you have readily available in your kitchen, so no running to the store for something weird or special.

When I was studying for my Bachelor of Education at the University of South Australia, parts of my studies were devoted to the study of Egyptology and Ancient Egyptian Spiritual beliefs. As a result, I had the good fortune to study one of the chapters from Brandon's book. I must say that I found it absolutely facinating and thought that Brandon was clear and concise in his descriptions. I enjoyed Creation Legends of the Ancient Near East by S. G. F. Brandon very much and I think it offers a great overview of various creation legends. There have been lots of books I have read with similar themes, but I think few explain them as well as Brandon. Additionally, as a lay person, I think any reader can pick this book up and enjoy reading it. I would thorougly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in ancient cultures and their beliefs.

"Derrycloney" is wonderfully humorous, wonderfully poetic, wonderfully human. In this, his third novel, Phelan presents a tale of life in an isolated laneway in the Irish countryside in the 1940s. Published by Brandon; 8.99 Irish pounds.
