Twilight's Angel is a in-depth look at the human struggle between good and evil that strikes your imagination from the beginning.
Brandon's novel is expertly written with a gripping plot, intriguing characters and an inspiring belief in humanity that leaves
you believing in love's ability to conquer all evil.
The strength of this story lies in the development not only of the main character Ben, but also of key characters and their depiction of a world at war. The day to day complexities of this stuggle make it easy to relate to the evils of today and the challenges we face globally. Brandon eloquently examines this violence and the cruelty and suffering that people can unleash on one another without provocation, while engaging the good and human side that people are also capable of giving.
Outstanding novel! It will captivate you from the first page leaving you feeling that there is hope in this world if you have faith in yourself and others.

A truly wonderful book that would be good for any age. I've read all of the author's books as a result of the charm, insight,
emotion and uniqueness I encountered in this book. This should be reissued and incorporated into high schooler's history
classes on life in the first half of the twentieth century. The author's descriptions of daily village life in Ireland charms.

If you would know Ireland, don't read McCourt or Cahill; read Alice Taylor. This book is typical of her work in revealing
the island as it actually is and not as some do who have an agenda and don't hesitate to "spin" the description to attain
the reaction they want. Excellent writing from a truly extraordinary woman with a heart as big as the Republic.

"what if holden caufield went to law school" is a delightful and at the same time substantive read. To purchase the book is
kind of like getting a two-fer--that is, great and captivating legal fiction, and a spate of interviews with some of the real
stars of the world of legal fiction. Murphy's fiction stories are tight, well-written, and insightful, both in regard to character
development and the world of practicing law. The writer interviews
are really satisfying--Murphy's questions to the writers are spot on in that they probe precisely the issues I would have wanted to explore. For anyone who loves legal fiction, or just great writing in general, I highly recommend this book.

I'm a huge Incubus fan and think the band, and all of it's subsequent members, can do no wrong. I heard about this book through
the band's website and instantly wanted it, afterall, this is the frontman to the band that has most influenced me in my musical
travels. However I didn't buy it when I wanted to, the price was ridiculously high and I wasn't sure if it was completely
worth it. I was wrong. I found it much cheaper at a concert of their's I attended and from the first page on I was awestruck.
I always knew Brandon was not only an extraordinarily gifted musician but also extremely gifted when it came to drawing, and
White Fluffy Clouds only proves it. His drawing are so intricate and amazing that it's hard to believe a human hand did, in
fact, create them. But the drawing aren't the only thing this book has to offer. Included are more than a few poems and simple
observations from Brandon. The short story entitled Fear is particularly hilarious as he tells of his many fears as a child.
Not everything Brandon writes is funny though, Hail, Right Brain! is a poem that really gets you thinking. His take on love
and life is yet another facet he can cover with ease, as any fan of Incubus is sure to know already. There's even parts where
he talks about the world today, particularly on page 74 with the essay entitled Music. If you can find this book, certainly
jump at the chance to get it, I've read it countless times and still enjoy every page. I will offer some advice though, don't
waste your time trying to track it down through Amazon or some other website, get it at one of their shows, it's a mere 30
dollars compared to the 60 that Amazon is asking.

Thrilling, lavishly illustrated overview

From the beginnings of Ancient Egypt to the first moonwalk, this is a large coffee-table type book that provides the history
of the world told in 100 exciting key episodes with 1500 illustrations as well as maps and diagrams. Between articles there
are two page spreads to fill the history outside of the 100 key events. Another help which I haven't seen elsewhere is timelines
for each major epoch that show the overlapping life spans of rulers, thinkers, artists, etc. as correlated with key events.
More recent attempts I have seen at this same approach do not seem as complete or satisfying. A great way to get yourself
or a high-school aged child excited about history. They broke the mold when they made this book. You will not regret the
modest investment in a used copy.

Introspection and Excellence

Brandon Ivie's poetry is amazing and introspective. His poems flow off the tip of the tongue while making you think about
their meaning. "Planets in July" is fantastic and heartfelt, "As We Maneuvered..." leaves you yearning for that lost love,
and "Becoming Human" brings you into the origin of where his work might have started. Ivie's writings are masterful and he
uses language to form a colorful, and sometimes dour tapestry of thought. If you are a hardcore poetry lover, this book is
for you. If you are a novice who has only read Jim Morrison's work, because you liked his music, this is for you. If you
can't stand poetry, but like words that keep it real, this is for you.

I was given this book (not a very subtle hint), and while some of the techniques are a little out there, I did get a job as
a computer draftsman by agreeing to work for next to nothing for a probationary period. I let them know up front that I had
limited Autocad experience, but when they saw that I picked it up quickly they kept me on at 'normal' pay. I recommend this
book highly

Taylor outdoes herself in this delightful tale of an Irish family in the 1960's. Once you start reading, you are completly
taken into this family and you cannot put the book down. Hopefully she will continue with the story of the Phelans and write
another novel about Mossgrove.

This book is the exact same as the hardcover, bound version. It has the glossy, colored pages including the paperback cover.
It is 3-hole punched to put into a binder and is easy to carry and use. My professor was impressed with it. I put it in a
1 1/2" binder and it fit great. No complaints from this girl!

Beautifully written. Well developed characters. Violent and gory but never gratuitous. I'm jaded and don't scare easily but
this book gave me the willies. Makes Stephen King seem like kid stuff.
