What a great read! It is really on target with some of the feelings adopted kids have, and is very encouraging! Mark has a fantastic outlook on life, and strong faith, too! Thanks for the book! We loved it!

Fans of historical novels ought not to miss this one. "Imperial Purple" is set in the early Christian era during the reign of Theodosius II (408-450)and with the author's "The Bearkeeper's Daughter" and "The Beacon at Alexandria" the novel examines why "Byzantine" has entered our language as an adjective. Well written and reasearched.(alternate selection of the History Book Club)

This book was a suggested text for an online nursing course through Texas Tech University HSC SON. I've discovered it is prudent to order through Amazon as they generally carry the books I've needed.

Plummer provides thirteen of the most ancient Irish litanies extant, in the original Irish with a clear, accurate English translation. An introduction gives information about the manuscripts, dating from the 12th(?) to 15th centuries, in which the litanies are found. Endnotes provide some clarification of obscure passages.

Angell offers solutions to many of the standard paradoxes of truth functional logic. This is a masterpiece.

John Bradshaw identifies 10 reasons (which he calls demons) that destroy relationships, such as high expectations, inefficient communications, family rules, familiarity, need for parental-type of partner. Each reason made me take a hard look at how I contribute to the demise of my relations. Each reason is well thought of and hits home. John also points out to other works that can be a valuable follow up. I highly recommend this tape as a must have for those who are serious about relationships. John talks to you and not at you in these tapes.

This is not an ordinary book. Fascinating and unique, it is definitely not a boring read. Reminiscent of O. Henry , it is pithily written and eerily real. I consider it two books of short stories superimposed on each other. And for a good reason! It includes some compassionate and truly heartwrenching stories that will open your eyes to the real life experiences of people with handicaps-- fortunately laced with moments of humor. There are also heartwarming stories that explore many facets of relationship and experience, including some fantastical tales hiding nuggets of truth. Certainly this work goes to far-flung extremes, but the overall effect is balance. This book will make you laugh, cry and think. Grab a cup of coffee and read one story at a time. Expand your mind and stretch your heart with this important book. I dare you!

I am a little surprised to find myself the first reviewer of this distinguished book. The book is important for two reasons. Above all, Bradshaw is himself an excellent - perceptive, subtle, balanced and sound - critic of Shakespeare. He persuades one that what he sees in Shakespeare is actually "there", and essential to see. Given this ability, he is also in an authoritiatve intellectual position to demolish a good deal of the artificial, contrived nonsense written during the eighties and early nineties, particularly by the "new historicists (so called) and the "cultural materialists": he demonstrates conclusively that for the most part the readings of Shakespeare offered by these critics (inasmuch as they actually discuss Shakespeare rather than offering us onesided views about his period) are distorted and inaccurate when really held up against Shakspeare's plays. Thus Bradshaw's title, *Misrepresentations*, is entirely apposite, and present and future readers of Shakespeare will owe him much for his plain speaking and sharp intelligence, which direct us to the real qualities - not least the artistic ones - of SHAKESPEARE rather than the preoccupations of those who tend to treat him as a political football. Great descriptions, easy to follow reasonings - it covers an extremely large subject with scientific professionalism. The only thought: despite the fact that all the contents is still up to date, I wish they had this book republished in a newer edition.

173 roadside markers are described in this book, arranged by section of the state. How many times have you been driving along a road when suddenly a historical marker appears along the side and there is no way to stop and read it? Books like this eliminate the frustration of passing those markers by. And from the amount of text on Montana's signs, it is much more convenient reading it from a book than from the sign itself. There is also a thorough index and a useful bibliography included. The book would be interesting to armchair travelers, too. A convenient way for travelers to learn Montana's history.
