Best-selling author Marion Zimmer Bradley skillfully blends enchanting romance, supernatural ritual, and daring exploits in
this eagerly-awaited prelude to the blockbuster fantasy series, The Mists of Avalon. Foreshadowing the mystical birth of King
Arthur, Lady of Avalon paints a lush portrait of the turbulence and grandeur of ancient Britain while Rome ruled the Isles.
Throughout Britannia, Roman soldiers are destroying those who follow the Druid's time-honored religion. Hoping to save a remnant
of the faith, High Priestess Lady Caillean retreats with her band of holy followers to the mist-enshrouded island of Avalon.
There she forges a bond with the Sacred King to serve the Great Goddess and to steer Britannia's political forces. As the
decades turn into centuries, the High Priestess and her inspired successors work their magic to shape the fortunes of humankind--but
even their powerful sorcery cannot control the human heart. Each earthy priestess of Avalon steps colorfully from the pages
with Marion Zimmer Bradley's dynamic plotting and Davina Porter's dramatic narration.

Joseph Bradley is a gifted storyteller with a real knack for mystery/suspense novels. It is so easy to get caught up reading
it and I recommend this book to anyone.

I bought this because it was assigned for Legal Ethics/Professional Responsibility, although on the first day of class the
professor told us we could get by without it. If you are a law student, a better bang for your buck would be to join the ABA
($20), then for an additional $20 join the ABA's Center for Professional Responsibility and you can download all of this information
for free. However, be careful not to order a hardcopy through the ABA, because it will likely cost more than on Amazon.
I like having the hardcopy in front of me during class, and of course, to highlight and tab.
As a "perk," the book includes a CD Rom of state codes.

A group of Terran scientists plus a mining expert representing the funding behind the expedition land on a planet with a seemingly
primitive population and bizarre weather. Freak storms strand the Terrans for far longer than planned, and as tensions rise
among them and some build close ties with the locals, they begin to discover that there is far more to the "simple natives"
and the weather than they could have ever imagined. A nice, fat book for those who like rich characterization, believable
relationships, and plenty of descriptive detail. Kellogg deftly weaves all the seemingly disparate threads into a satisfying
ending. There's a nice sprinkling of hard science, but not enough to be daunting.

I knew Dr. Bradley in the late 80's early 90's when she lived next to my parents in LaPlata, MD. I saw first hand her passion
for her work as well as her faith. She writes about her horse Christa. I helped her take care of Christa. In fact I rode
Christa quite often when she was feeling her best. This book is filled with the passion and faith I witnessed during that
time. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the results of herbal remedies. She is an amazing and
inspirational woman. In fact, I highly recommend this book whether you are interested in the subject matter or not. Her
dedication and faith alone is enough to get all of us to rethink our own lives. Thank you Sandy and if you were to read this
yourself - I'd love to read Volume II AND your autobiography.

After picking up this book I could not put it down. I was amazed how easily the concepts and ideas are conveyed to the reader.
The authors own experience through his career is put forth in such a straight forward and calming manor. It really reemphasized
the importance of the material without seeming overbearing or preachy. His ideas and teachings have made me start thinking
twice about my own retirement and my future even though I'm only in my mid twenties. Anyone who wants a kick in the pants
regarding their financial future needs to read this book. I highly recommend it.

A thoughtfully detailed and entertaining narrative with lots of captivating photos of the key people and places of Lincoln's
visits to the Commonwealth. I also liked the appendix which provided guidance on how to follow and experience the Lincoln
Trail. I'm not a Lincoln expert, so the accounts of his experiences here were new to me and fascinating to read... but that
also means my rating is just a reflection of how much I liked this book, not a comparison to other books about Mr. Lincoln.
It is unquestionably well-written.
