Bradley Books

One of the things I particularly like about Dawn Bradley Berry's work is her equal attention to pragmatic legal detail and human emotion and behavior. This book is fantastic because not only does it provide logistical and strategic procedural guidance to the divorce process, it provides the reader with encouragement and a source of solace.

Divorce, even in the best of circumstances, is difficult and unsettling. It is refreshing to see an author provide resources for the wide range of issues that are likely to arise, whether in the court hearing or in the psyche. Berry writes in a clear, compassionate manner, and her readers will come away much enlightened and educated at a time in life when everyone could use a comforting word.

Highly recommended.

I got to read this book and it is amazing. It really shows who great Mcnabb is off and on the field. I suggest that you should not even hesitate while buying it. Great book, peace!!

I have Barbara's "Drawing People: How to portray the clothed figure," which was published by North Light Books the same year. I love it, and it's highly rated by everyone here and all over the net. Judging by the images on the cover and the description of the contents on the amazon uk site I'm certain these are the same book under different cover. Get whichever is available in your area, but don't buy both hoping for more of her excellent instruction (unless someone corrects me).

Excellent reading for all the "Duel" movie fans. "The Distributor" is also
wonderful and fun reading. Also, a must for any Dennis Weaver fan.

I truly enjoyed this book. Before this textbook, I had never had the experience with a textbook in which I simply WANTED to keep reading, rather than just trying to finish the "assigned reading". It offered so many fascinating examples of the economic principles it covered and effectively taught me how apply the knowledge I gained to everyday situations.

This is a great stand-alone text for anyone that wants to learn economics.

Albert Einstein once wrote that you should never despise simple books.

This is certainly an example of a simple book, about the ideas and principles behind risk, which the author explains thoroughly. It is full of insights too, and will probably never go out of date. It gives you a clear understanding of risk in any context, financial or otherwise.

A new, easy to understand risk measure, the author's invention, is central to the book. He uses it effectively to explain the well known but hard to understand standard deviation measure of risk. He also uses it to derive a new version of the risk equation that makes risk elimination and reduction possibilities almost obvious. The original risk equation, over which the author's version is a clear improvement, was first proposed by William Sharpe.

But be warned. This is a book for ideas people only. The author is clearly only interested in principles. (The front cover does state that the book is about practical principles, and means it.) All of the author's examples, many of them almost trivial, are geared to getting the reader to understand a unified set of principles represented by a few basic equations. Nowhere will you find a detailed method for carrying out some specific complex operation, either in finance or everyday systems. The author obviously assumes that if you have understood the principles, you will be able to figure out what to do in any situation, even an entirely new one.

Some people are not very comfortable with ideas, concepts and principles, however, especially application of principles to new situations. They are more comfortable dealing with complex specifics and standard procedures. Such readers may react negatively to this book, since it lacks specific information about any specific situation. With that caveat, I rate it five stars. I found one obvious typographic error near the end, inside an arithmetic expression that came out right.
