My 2 1/2 year old son should be the reviewer of this book. He has requested it from the library at least 4 times and he loves to read it to himself. It's got a great rhythm, and wonderful pictures of lots of different animals. "Would you dip with the otter? Dippidah dippidah!"

We borrowed this book from our local library and loved it. My kindergartener really grasped the mathematical concept behind words like 'single', 'double', 'few', 'many', 'dozen' and learned 'even' versus 'odd' numbers too. The book has bright colorful photos of children, fire engines and flowers so it is very engaging all round.

Poet Allan A. DeFina is a master of imagery. His words immediately transport the reader to a world filled with the sights and sounds of the city. Both adults and children will find enjoyment in "When A City..." as well as an instrument to spark their own poetic voices.

Appropriate for almost any age, this book reads like a song. These cows are so hillarious to follow through this story, that before you know it, the story is over. You'll find no deep meaning here, just mischievous cows who love life, and want to have fun.

The book came soon after I had ordered it. It is a lovely book both for adults and the story for children.

This book explains in detail the kind of response God expects from us when we have been mistreated by others. It is a given that we will all at one time or another be the recipients of hurtful actions or words by people whom for some known or unknown reason have developed a hatred or dislike for us. Dr. Patterson lays it out in clear and precise terms, that we should learn to grow through adversity and not wallow in the mud of self-pity. More importantly, Dr. Patterson reminds us that God is the One in control, and that nothing can escape the watchful eye of God especially when it comes to His children. I know now for myself that I have three important type of friends because, "He who hates me teaches me caution-- He who loves me teaches me tenderness-- He who is indifferent to me teaches me self-reliance. Thank you Dr. Patterson!

I've read this several times out to school groups, and they always think it's funny. I used to joke with a housemate that her cat held parties when we were away, and now I know it's true! A lovely imaginative leap

Where Horses Run Free includes page after page of simply stunning paintings which transcend the average picture book, giving us a rich and rewarding experience. And it's been said before, but it bears repeating - Layne Johnson is one of today's best illustrators. Where Horses Run Free will be enjoyed on many levels by a wide range of readers - from elementary school children to adults who love horses.

Using bright picture collages, Lorianne Siomades presents a charming bedtime book for little ones. The opening question, "Do you know where wild babies sleep?" leads to pages of sleeping baby animals who are watched over by a protective parent. Each illustration also shows the correct environment for the animals: a kangaroo, a puffin, a skunk, a dormouse, a stingray, an armadillo, a monkey, a walrus, and a porcupine. Highly recommended! Other books by Lorianne Siomades include "Cuckoo Can't Find You," "Kangaroo and Cricket," and "A Place to Bloom."

This is probably one of the better "how to" books on landscape, wildlife and general photography from one of the finest shooters to come along in decades.
Text is easy to understand and follow and the related photo essays are very well placed for learning, and are of superior quality.
