I really enjoyed reading Razzle Dazzle it was extremely informative and I wasn't able to put it down for a second. I love
Bob Fosse and all his work. This book took into account all his achievments and even his failures to create the realism of
his dark dismal mind that created some of the best shows on Broadway & in Hollywood! It is definitly worth reading

A "Must Have" for all Family Therapists - and even those of you who aren't!

In this tour de force, Boyd-Franklin and Bry present a wonderful working model for "home-based family therapy," which Madsen
(2007) calls getting off "professional turf" and onto "family turf," leading to greater collaboration. Boyd-Franklin & Bry
outline a three phase model, which has become the working model of our agency. The phases are: 1) the entire family, 2) an
individual session with the "IP" (identified patient) or a sub-system, and 3) meet again with the entire family. While this
is intensive on clinicians (2+ hours/per week/per family), after four months you can terminate with a "vastly, vastly improved"
client system. There's lots of good "evidence-based treatment" (EBT) research to back this up, but regretfully agencies look
at the "real client" - $$$ (the third-party payer) - and choose in his favor.
So, if you're more interested in helping families than serving managed care or the government, this book is a good start. For its low price, you can't beat it!

It is a rare occasion to meet a sicientifically high standard book about soul, which has almost been lost for us. Our self-centered
time requires this kind of bold critique. It is obvious that monistic thinking can be replaced by dualism. Great book!

These comics are enjoyed by our entire family. Our 10 year old son can't seem to put them down as the illustrations and content
are clever and entertaining. We love how Bently Boyd brings history to life in a fun, creative and easy reading style. After
my son is finished reading he can't wait to share what he read with the entire family. We have acquired the entire set of
Chester Comix with Content Series and love them all. These make a GREAT gift for anyone of any age or even for teachers as
they are an awesome learning tool. A gift that keeps giving. This is a definate must have for the entire family. ENJOY!

If you're a Foxworthy fan of 'redneck humor', don't miss his latest collection The Redneck Doesn't Fall Far from the Tree:
its diminutive stature may make it harder to find on shelves, but its one-page insights on 'you might be a redneck if' focuses
on funny family connections and makes for an especially strong family gift for the holidays or Father's Day.

A Useful and Inspiring Little Jewel!

It is a joy to come across this useful little volume of selected prose and poetry with charming black and white illustrations.
The selections are well-written and engaging for any elementary or middle-school student. Themes related to challenges that
children (or adults!) confront and surmount are both heartening and useful--as discussion-starters, writing prompts, or
accessible avenues to boosting a child's self-confidence and morale. Marcella Anderson is a well-known authority on bibiliotherapy,
with years of experience in using books and stories to help hospitalized children cope with the serious problems and discomfort
they must confront. Thus this book is particularly useful for adults working with any sick or handicapped child; nonetheless,
I can see innumerable ways it could be used effectively at home or with regular school classes, children dealing with academic
or social challenges, or simply to impart good, solid illustrations of some of the most important personal lessons for any
youngster to absorb.

An excellent book to help children "center"

My children and I did not merely "read" this book; we have "encountered" it several times...This book has become a friend
who brings us back to a settled inner soul, grounding us in the connection to nature, to nurturing, to words softly flowing
to inner peace shutting out the exterior voices of turmoil. The colorful, gentle artwork draws us in and sets a wonderful
mood for being receptive to poetry.
Poetry is not something that children encounter very frequently these days, as they surf the "Net" and use their iPods with all their spare time. They multi-task and rush through life at a rapid pace, too quickly sometimes to savor life. We all do this! I have found my children and I drawn back into a more reflective and appreciative attitude toward the process of living as we read the gently musing poetry about autumn and spring, the story about Great Wolf and poor Little Buddha Baby who is adopted by Great Wolf and sheltered carefully by him from the elements and as the two sing together. In a way, this book shelters us from the elements of a harried lifestyle, if only for a few still moments, and brings us back to the slower pace of life in which loving connection and "having open eyes to see and truly experience" are things which are valued and remembered. It is good to be reminded of these things. I recommend this book to any busy family.

This book is very detailed yet held the interest of my train loving 3 year-old. I highly recommend it for all young train lovers. I wish there were more books on the market like this one. After reading this, the modern children's books look like very watered down text with lesser quality illustrations.
Due to the high level of detail, this book ends up being educational in nature, although written as pure storytelling. It is also not at all boring to for the adult to read to children!
