This book gives excellent ideas to those teachers who face the adolescence as early adulthood.

The author, Donna Boyd, is to werewolves what Anne Rice is to vampires. With her lyrical use of language and her deeply sensuous imagery, the author contines the tale that she began in her first book, "The Passion". It is a tale of a subculture of wealthy, urbane, highly intelligent, well educated and charismatic werewolves who live amonst humans unbeknownst to them. They are the movers and shakers of society, the quintessential beautiful people. In this manner, they informally and secretly rule humans, directing our world peacably and enriching it. These shape shifting, sensuous creatures are truly benevolent rulers and are led by a member of the aristocratic Devoncroix clan. When their leader, Alexander Devoncroix, dies, their son, Nicholas, must now lead the pack. He is hellbent, however, on changing that benevolent philosophy.

When Nicholas is critically injured in a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness, he is found in his wolf form, battered, burned, and bloody, by a reclusive scientist, Hannah Braselton North, who has an affinity for wolves and treats his wounds in her small cabin. Having pulled from the wreckage a diary, she hunkers down to read it, while her "patient" recuperates. What she reads is the ostensible memoir of someone named Matise Devoncroix. It is an erotic and sensuos tale tale of star crossed lovers who are members of a race of werewolves who live secretly amonst humans. Drawn into the tale, and at first imagining it to be fiction, she soon realizes that this is no mere tale but a revelation that is somehow connected to her mysterious "patient".

Beautifully written and suspenseful, the book, a story within a story, is riveting and will keep the reader turning the pages. It is an excellent sequel to her first book, "The Passion". While not absolutely necessary, it is recommended that one first read "The Passion", as it will undoubtedly enhance the pleasure of reading "The Promise".

Working in industry and having served the research community reviewing cryptographic protocols for years, I have been privileged to witness a fact: designing cryptographic protocols is a no-ending job. This is an inevitable result of the fact that our society is now entering the information era for which new and diversified applicational or functional requirements for secure communications are endless. So, increasingly more new protocols will yet be invented. For a piece of supporting evidence, International Security Protocols Workshop, an annual in Cambridge University specialising in security protocols, has been 12 years. The book of Boyd and Mathuria is a responsible work facing the above conflicting phenomenon. It begins with a tutorial introduction to authentication and key establishment protocols which is easily accessible by any one who wants to take up the challenging job of protocol design (it actually targets people in the second group above). It then takes an exhaustive approach to document past proposals with analysis and error demonstration. In addition, it also explains methodologies and principles for making protocols correct. Finally, it includes important standards which are vital leads to follow. So, whether you are a seasoned information security professional or an engineer aiming to become a good protocol designer, this book will help you greatly. It is worthy having a copy even for the purpose of a complete menu for protocol designers: "have I checked this sort of attack?"

This remarkable book is bound to help many, many families who are touched by cancer, especially families with young children. While some children's books on cancer contain too much information that might frighten or confuse young kids, this book tells them just what they need to know.

The story stands out for several reasons:
-It is appropriate even for very young children.
-It gives kids an idea of what to expect if Mom faces cancer, but in a way that is manageable and even humorous.
-It gives children a sense of control by showing how they can help. (The main character makes his mom lunch and helps her pick out her funny wig.)
-The illustrations are upbeat and hopeful.

This book is a compilation of eleven animal "mysteries." The short stories were originally part of the "Science in Action" articles in Hightlights for Children magazine and are now included in one of several books in the Science in Action series. The book includes topics such as how dolphins communicate, how crows have been observed creating tools, and how people have long pondered the question of whether a platypus is a bird, mammal, or reptile. Each section is only a few pages long and gives the reader a simple background of the topic. I really enjoyed this book, and learned a lot more than I expected. It is a quick read and keeps the reader engaged by the switching of topics. The contrasting cartoon and realistic illustrations are also very enjoyable. This book is a great homage to Jack Myers.

Robin hit a homerun with this one. Reading the actual comments from the moonbats shows what the Democratic Party is all about.
The chapter that covered the comments from the Left on how they really feel about the military was shocking. It was interesting to see the connections of the protest groups also. I highly recommend reading this before the 2006 elections.

Albert S. Osborn's book,Questioned Documents, is the bible for questioned documents. His second edition published in 1929 with 1,042 pages has excellent illustrations and explains more details of presenting a questioned document case in court than most other books. Photographic methods of presenting a questioned document case in court is dated but his illustrations are excellent and well explained. If you can find a copy it will be a welcome addition to your library. It is a starting point for Forensic Questioned Document Examiners and may be an ending point for attorneys who need just an overview of the science. What do they need? And how do they present it in court?

Based on a Korean folk story and illustrated in vibrant colors with art by Eujin Kim Neilan is this lively story of a dragon king who rules the oceans - but is a hypochondriac who worries constantly about his health. He becomes convinced that eating a rabbit's heart will cure all his troubles, and it's up to a threatened but brave rabbit to prove otherwise in this lively story.

Collaboratively compiled by Malcom Boyd (Episcopal priest and poet/writer in residence at the Cathedral Center of St. Paul, Los Angeles) and Chester Talon (Bishop Suffragan of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles), Race And Prayer: Collected Voices, Many Dreams consists of dealing with the transformation of anger and impressive and inspiring poems, prayers, and prose frustration to a condition of reconciliation and healing. Enhanced with twelve cartoons by Los Angeles times editorial cartoonist Paul Conrad, Race And Prayer is organized into five sections (Suffering and Anger; Prejudice and Hatred; Diversity; Reconciliation and Healing; Growth in Understanding and Sharing). Race And Prayer is important and highly recommended reading for all Christians regardless of denominational affiliation or background.

We were given a copy of the first printing of this book many years ago. As a visual and written essay about the inhabitants of the track, it is unmatched. Moments of joy are celebrated. Moments of defeat and pain are investigated. It captures the magic of the racetrack experience.
