Boyd openly directs this book to white, Christian, heterosexualmales who recognize that there is something missing in the way we arein relationship with people unlike us. Most of his ideas are not original, but he pulls important learnings together in such a way that I recognized myself again and again. He then offers concrete, challenging ways to work on becoming who we were meant to be. In my opinion, much more significant that "Mars and Venus"...ad nauseum. Highly recommended for men seeking meaningful relationships...and for the women -- and men -- who love them.

You can forget How The Grinch Stole Christmas and The Polar Express. Merry Christmas, Old Armadillo is destined to be a Christmas Classic. With warmth, instead of the Grinch's nastiness, Brimner has concocted a tale that grips the young listeners in our house on each re-telling. Its message, though subtle, reminds us not to forgot our old friends--perhaps those grandparents and great grandparents exiled to Sun City. A winner to be shared no matter the season.

This is the author's fictionalised study of her family in Orkney, the island group just north of the mainland of Scotland. I found it well framed and written, with a glossary of Orcadian and Scottish dialect (although I needed it less than I had anticipated). The story is given color and depth with interesting tidbits of 19th/early 20th century farm and household technology, daily culture, and social reality. The characters are neatly drawn and well developed. A good read altogether.

I'm working through this book now, both for review of the fundamentals and for instruction in Visual Basic for Applications. I don't know how a book could be more explanatory. All principles are covered thoroughly and logically. Best of all, though this is a textbook, it's great for self-study.

This is one of the best gay erotic novels I've read. While I'd have liked more plot, the characters are appealing and the sex is way hot. The only other gay erotica I'd put in the same league with it are "Apprenticed to Pleasure" by Brandon Fox and "Surfer Sex" by Rusty Winter.

Another great book to keep you company on a night you're all alone. Mike (who we last met in Mike and Me) and his buddy join the Marine Corps. Despite all the fantasizing that the book supports about what men do in the military for sexual release, there's enough truth in the book that you know this wasn't an armchair author.

Of particular interest is the "graduation" ceremony in the last chapter of the book. Give us more of Mike, Eric Boyd!

I just read Mrs. Boyd's book and it was very spirtual. I just moved here to Columbus AFB, MS, and it was loaned to my husband from someone at work. She was honest in her feelings and I loved how she incorporated scriptures into her every day life. A must read for all. She is a true missionary.

My third grade teacher read this book for her class in 1977. I loved the characters. This book will be passed down through my family for many generations.

This is the best How-To book I have ever seen on making and repairing fishing tackle. With this you can repair rods and reels, as well as create virtually any type of lure or terminal tackle. Lots of other handy information also. My copy of this book was written in 1974, but the information is just as valuable today. I can't recommend this book enough. What I learned in this book 30 years ago is still being used by me today, and the information has saved me hundreds of dollars. If you like to tinker with tackle, you must own this book!

This is right up there with Frog and Toad are Friends, and Owl at Home (that is to say, it's better than the very good Where the Wild Things Are). I'm 27 now but I can still remember enjoying this masterpiece.

The stories--all about "monstrous" children and their antics (kicking each other under the dinnig table, skipping school, the vanity of little girls) are very charming.

But the real value comes from Edward Gorey's s illustrations. Gorey died on April 15, 2000, so all of his books are precious--he's the artist that drew the animations for PBS' "Mystery" series. All of his illustrations have an refined and elegantly macabre feeling. I.e., all of the monsters and ghouls are dressed for a formal cocktail party. Kids love that! I think you will too.
