Chi-hoon could be an 8-year-old girl almost anywhere--she is playful, imaginative, has an occasional disagreement with her older sister, and loves to visit her grandparents. The charm of this book is that we see Seoul, Korea through a young girl's eyes. This book is filled with snippets of Korean history and culture. We see Chi-hoon struggle to pay attention at a piano lesson, go to market with her mother, try to win a school prize, and play yut, a traditional Korean game, with her grandparents. In a particularly amusing scene, we see Chi-hoon persuade her grandfather to buy her cold noodle soup (a Korean specialty) against her parents' wishes. How many children and parents can identify with that scenario! :) This is a fantastic book for any age. Even the youngest children will enjoy the lovely photographs, and older children and adults will enjoy re-reading the text which contains gentle references to issues such as tremendous academic pressure (Chi-hoon's cousin will remain at home for an entire year to prepare for college entrance exams), the older generation's bias toward male children, and the age hierarchy (Chi-hoon wishes that she didn't have to call her older sister Oni, a title of respect). A must read!

"Chloe" starts out with an immediate touch of erotica, but with such class that you don't realize how extremely tantalizing the story becomes until you're caught deep within it's pages.

A romance that just so happens to involve the story of a lesbian couple that seems to have lost their umph, makes the plot something that even the `straightest' of readers can relate to. Touching your heart with realistic characters, you soon become involved in the relationships yourself, hoping for the right things to happen.

As the much younger lover starts to become bored with a long-term relationship, she becomes intrigued with a glance of the beautiful woman next door. Finding she has suddenly become completely infatuated with this beautiful woman she finds ways to start being a part of her life, quickly, only to realize that this beautiful "girl next door" has a boyfriend, not only making her unavailable but heterosexual and therefore probably unattainable.

Quick paced and intense, the reader glides quickly through the life stories of the characters and finds the erotic details of their love quite extraordinary. A wonderful read for those of any sexual orientation, Boyd makes anyone feel at ease with the sexual content by her expert writing style and realistic characters. This is one novel that should definitely be on your "Summer HOT List"! Stay near the pool, you'll be needing a cool down often!

This book made me realize what serious business spiritual warefare is. The powers of hell are alive and well, and as Christians we must be alert to their schemes. I have been able to share this book with many who have felt satan's warefare first hand. An excellent read.

As the mother of three beautiful children from Romania, this book has an obvious place in my heart. However, it is so lovely it should have a broad appeal for families of all backgrounds. It is one of the few Christmas books without reference to presents. Instead the emphasis is on family sharing and traditions. With beautiful illustrations and gentle text, the book shares the wonderful caroling tradition in Romania. In addition to its Christmas theme, it also looks at the challenges children face in learning new things and figuring out their place in their community. You will love this book! By the end you may even want to go caroling yourself!

I was sooo happy and surprised to actually read someone's view on the word and be absolutely correct. No compromise was made. If I had 4 thumbs, "4 thumbs up!" to Ms. Olivia Harris Woodfork. We love how Bently Boyd brings history to life in a fun, creative and easy reading style for all reading levels. After my son is finished reading he can't wait to share what he read with the entire family. We have acquired the entire set of Chester Comix with Content Series and love them all. These make a GREAT gift for anyone of any age or even for teachers as they are an awesome learning tool. A gift that keeps giving. This is a definate must have for the entire family. ENJOY!

I gave this book to my son along with a box of civil war soldiers and he has loved it. He reads the book, then reenacts the battles with the toy soldiers. It has really sparked his interest in history. All the books in this series have been great and he has enjoyed them all.

M.J. Boyd has spent over 20 years researching the migration of the House of Boyd and its descendants. He has a wealth of information in this book. Name origins, Chiefs, which other clans the Boyds married into or married into the Boyds. He tracks who is researching which lines of the Boyd Family. There is no other book dedicated to the Boyd Family at large as this one is. Nor one that includes so much of the early history and lineages. Believe me, I have looked!

Princess Mary of Scotland, sister to King James III, who was married to Thomas Boyd, bore sons that would become the next kings of Scotland as her brother had no issue. Only James' life stood in the way of the "Royal Boyds" unless he produced children. Due to the Boyds getting too close to the Scottish throne, for some folks comfort, they were sent off on missions that took them to foreign lands, declared traitors and fell from grace. They lost heads, lands and titles. Mary was forced to divorce Thomas and to marry the old Lord Hamilton. It was not until the reign of Mary, Queen of Scots, that the lands and titles were restored to the Family.
