This book is essential to any mind who aspires to be an architect. For the greatest assets of an architect are is academic understandings of the history behind the buildings of a city, and not only the historical, but the theories which caused the greatest architects of the past, to make their decisions as well.
Iain Borden and all those who contributed to this work make this clear in their wonderfully crafted book.

Chapter contents : 1] The American Quarter Horse; 2] The Quarter Horse Heritage; 3] The Westward Migration; 4] Principal Sire Lines; 5] Quarter Horse Shows, Performance Events and Rodeos; 6] Quarter Horse Racing; 7] The Quarter Horse in the Future.

This title is a part of the Farnum Horse Library Series of which I am a big fan. The series [and this title in particular] deals with a basic overview of its subject. It's true that this book is a little outdated but the color photos and the principal sire line chapter makes this title worth the price.

Completely different from Ms. Borden's first book, but once again her bok gave me the chance to evaluate life in the suburbs. This time I got to laugh and cry out loud as I recognized both myself and my neighbors in the characters of A Little Bit Married. I found myself rooting for Bitsy, hoping that she would find the way to create "a little bit" perfect life for herself and her children. It was a totally enjoyable read, one that any woman who has raised her family in the suburbs can relate to and appreciate.

Robert Flynn: Lizzie Borden and the Mysterious Axe.

Among the tantalizing mysteries that remain unresolved in the Borden saga is the elusive axe - the instrument that so effectively undid Abby and Andrew Borden. For decades the focus has been on the fabled "handle-less hatchet" found in the Borden basement - a stubborn and formidable exhibit at Lizzie's trial. Now in the collection of the Fall River Historical Society, it was an instrument that "could have and was capable of causing the wounds" inflicted on the Bordens. However...a key piece of evidence regarding the actual nature of the murder weapon was not presented in testimony - the presence of a residue of gilt metal in one of the cuts on Mrs. Borden's skull, indicating that "the hatchet used in killing Mrs. Borden was a new hatchet, not long out of the store." Both forensic physicians (Drs. F.W. Draper and David Cheever) were keenly aware of the deposit and had communicated their findings to prosecutor Hosea Knowlton, but neither mentioned it at the trial, leaving the very false impression that the murder weapon was before the jury. In all likelihood it was not! Several years ago Robert Flynn discovered a brief and overlooked newspaper clipping headed "Another Hatchet Found" - a rusted hatchet which, when cleaned, disclosed a slight coloring of gilt, suggesting that is was "quite new when lost or discarded." And where was this intriguing object found? On top of a barn belonging to John Crowe, whose property abutted the rear of the Borden property. Here may well be the solution to the question of the missing hatchet. A fascinating and nicely recounted bit of sleuthing, indeed, and a must for anyone who quests for a solution to America's most debated murder case - a debate that continues with unabated vigor after nearly 107 years!

The book, even though difficult to find, is worth a good look. There's LOTS of information and it doesn't seem as though the book leans one way or the other....innocent or guilty. What IS included are excerpts from the trial and inquest transcripts and clippings from newspapers of the day. If you can find it, GET THIS BOOK!

A collection of 47 paintings and poetry by founder of the Risen Christ Foundation. From the book's dustjacket:

"The exquisite paintings and transcendant teachings by Vincenti Turrizianni, contained within this book are one on the means for Externalization of the Heirarchy of Light on this planet. As was prophesied the Masters of Light and Wisdom would walk the earth with the RISEN Christ once again. These portraits go before Them as the confirmation of this FACT.

For the first time in the history of the World the Masters of Light and Wisdom have permitted Their likeness to be put on canvas by a Master Artist and given to humanity. Included are the various expressions of the RISEN Christ inaugurating HIS Second Coming.

The Sculpted GODHEAD by the author-artist on this book-jacket speaks loudly in HIS silence to the needs and sufferings of humanity with HIS All-Knowing, All-Seeing Divinity - Ever Present!

Also for the first time these rare Love-Wisdom Teachings, containing seeds of the Sacred Mysteries, have been published as a guide to those of the New Sixth-Race Christ-Consciousness who will now come forth! The Paintings and Truths carry in them the POWER to instruct, to heal and to nourish the Soul's needs. The exalted writings indicate high concsiousness of the author who during the years 1960-1962 received them under a POWERT RAY of Divine Inspiration!

THIS BOOK IS INDEED UNIQUE IN THE FIELDS OF ESOTERIC WISDOM!"

very comprehensive, well-organized text that covers a variety of topics relevant to military psychiatry. areas of interest include addressing burnout, ethical issues, consultation to command, psychiatric aspects of disease in service members, training program guidelines, terrorism, hostage negotiation, and much more. the book is a series of excellent articles with a strong research base. informative yet practical approaches are given throughout the book. as a former military psychologist, i can say that this book addresses some important areas of concern, with ethics at the top of the list. in the face of command requests for information, practitioners frequently struggle with ethical propriety--balancing the needs of the command with what is in the best interest of the patient--and this book spends some looking at some ethical challenges, even dating back to lessons learned from vietnam.
