This book contains a huge number of transcription errors. I have compared it with the original Court Orders and am shocked with the number of liberties taken, the obvious misunderstandings of the transactions described, and the general lack of imagination in presenting the material. The most valuable thing in the book is the index, but even it is full of problems. For one thing every form of a name is listed as if it were a separate name: e.g. Johnson, Johnson's, Johnstone, etc., even when it is obvious it is all one name. On the other hand every page citation is lumped together under one name even when more than one person of the same name is involved, as father and son, or two unrelated people. It can be very frustrating, but that is the result when someone who knows nothing about the subject matter discussed tries to undertake such a project for money. This may be the only way some people can get access to this material, and at least that has been accomplished, but I would warn them to handle it with care if they are concerned about accuracy.
