Unleashes the power of Leadership

I've read alot of books about management and leadership and this one fits right in there at the top. It's a complete picture for problem solving, team building, and success maintenance. It wowed me and others who have read it with just about everything we needed for constructing and managing a powerful team. But there is a whole lot more.

I liked the textual algorithm that helped us build a key to success formula that will help us stay on track. Our unit is now going to go places with a higher expectancy of success. This book really shows how motivation works. I don't think we are having as much problem with getting the work done now that we understand the motivation process. What a help!

There are so many other positive things about this book that I can't mention them all. It is a must read!

Myself being a goalkeeper this book was very very good. This book showed all the emotions, hardwork, and dedication that it takes to be a winner. Any goalkeeper should read this book even if your young. It's easy reading and I dont read much at all. Out of all the soccer books I've read this was by far the best. This book made me want to go out and play until I couldn't play anymore. It's a story about mans life from child hood and playing soccerin the streets to being signed by a professonal club in England. Its a good book read it.

Football and romance, a great Southern author

Babs H. Deal, wife of Borden Deal, is an underrated writer. Her book "The Crystal Mouse" is probably her best selling novel -- a scary mystery -- but I've read them all and they were all great. I wish someone would reissue all of her books! "The Walls Came Tumbling Down" was another of my favorites, but they are all good. This one is especially good, even though it's a little dated, but it is still a wonderful story.

I've read Gravestone and Bloodstream by this author--both are excellent mysteries. The heroine, Marty Hopkins, has to constantly work at getting the assignments she wants due to a protective sheriff. She also has struggles in her personal life to overcome--and this struggle--with a loser husband more interested in chasing dreams than in being a good husband, make the book a 5 rating. Marty must juggle raising her child, dealing with her wayward husband, solving the mystery, convincing the sheriff she is capable and surviving. The characters are real and interesting, even the mysterious professor who drops occassional clues before running of on "field trips" to study limestone formations.

From Adele's Big Bird to Joanne's Apricot-Glazed Ham, Home For The Holidays is bursting with the Larson's family favorites destined to find their way to your holiday table.

Inspired by Jodie Foster's film of the same name--Home for the Holidays contains more than 60 kitchen-tested recipes, from appetizers to desserts, including vegetarian dishes. of color photos.

Home for the Holidays is dedicated "to our mothers, who taught us everything about saying 'thank you' on command, overeating, and the culinary miracle of salt." This dedication alone should be a tip off to the kind of wit, joy and heart warming recipes of our growing up that the book contains.

Pick up a copy and try your hand at baking Harvest Pumpkin Pie -- maybe, just maybe, you won't have to sit at the kids table this year!

Honor Without a Stain: The 34th Mississippi Infantry Regiment, 1862-1865 walks in the footstep of the average North Mississippian from his first engagement at Farmington, Mississippi across the battlefields of Perryville, Chickamauga, Chattanooga, and Atlanta, and into the grand coronation of death at Franklin and Nashville, Tennessee.

Included are never before published wartime diary and letter excerpts. Invaluable to genealogists will be the complete roster of the regiment including last known residences for survivors, circa 1907.
Honor Without a Stain is required reading for every serious student of the War Between the States. The author's best work yet, Honor Without a Stain is not only a great read, it's brimming with facts and personal anecdotes available in no other generally accessible publication anywhere. This book should be in every library, every school, and every private bookshelf across our country. The true story of the Civil War is here. Read it and you will understand.

Provides a comprehensive historical overview drawn from the personal accounts and journal entries

Review Date: 2008-11-08
During the 1800s, the American West was a magnet for men who hunted for survival, pleasure, and profit. Beautifully illustrated with period black-and-white images and full color artwork and photography, "Hunting The American West" by Richard C. Rattenbury (Curator of History, National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum) is an impressive work of meticulous scholarship that provides a comprehensive historical overview drawn from the personal accounts and journal entries of participants and observers ranging from aboriginal hunters and 'Mountain Men', to European adventurers and big game market hunters. "Hunting The American West" addresses such issues as big-game species, subsistence hunting, commercial hunting, and sport hunting; the variety of methods used from 1800 to 1900; the evolution of weaponry used in hunting; language associated with hunting in the American West; and the rise of the hunter-conservation movement -- which lead directly to the founding of the Boone and Crockett Club. Informed and informative, "Hunting The American West" is a unique and valued contribution to the growing library of historical literature with respect to frontier experiences of the west and a core addition to personal, academic, and community library collections.

"Inside Job" is amazing

Review Date: 2003-11-28
Bob Boone has always been my idol. I have watched him teach over and over and continue to be amazed at his mastery of the craft. He is the epitome of teacher-and it's not because he's smarter than everyone else, or better than everyone else, but because he can connect with anyone on the most basic human level, and one feels right away that he's trustworthy. Bob understands people.

In his dazzling teaching guide/autobiography/captivating story, "Inside Job", Bob takes us through his illustrious teaching career. We travel from Staten Island New York to Frankfort, Germany to Chicago's inner city. We follow Bob's growth as a teacher, his good-humored tenacity leading him through fumbles and successes. This book is ideal for new teachers, as it affirms the strength of this noble profession, and perfect for veterans in the classroom, the hilarious and inspirational stories like swapping reflections from a long career.

"Inside Job" is a great book for any student interested in teaching. It's an honest look at the crazy complexities involved in being a teacher. Bob hides nothing, glosses over no sharp corners, but the challenges in his life are simply that, challenges to be learned from and overcome. This book is for anyone that cares about teaching, English, creative writing, or humanity in general. Bob's candid voice draws you inescapably into his world, the stories resonate and it's difficult to set this book down once you've started. At the last page, you want to know more; like stopping abruptly after a long fast ride, you sway slightly, wanting more stories to propel you along.

Bob Boone was named a Chicagoan of the Year 2003 by Chicago Magazine and is the founder of Young Chicago Authors, a nonprofit creative writing organization for inner city youth. He is the most skilled educator I have ever known. He is the man that helped me survive high school. I've read "Inside Job" a dozen times, and each time I'm reminded what an outstanding personage Bob is. This book will reach you, no matter who you are.

Last book of the greatest baseball series

Although Mark Harris' Henry Wiggen baseball books were written many years ago (starting in the early 50's with "The Southpaw" and "Bang the Drum Slowly," and finishing in the 70's with "It Looked Like For Ever") these are great books that are timeless.

In some ways, "For Ever" is the best of the lot, because it deals with time and aging and how we deal with that. Henry becomes even bigger and more real as he grows fallible. I remain touched to this day.

This book is just the cutest! Poor Johnny, he just wants a friend to play with. This book is fantastic!
It is about a young boy who is having trouble making friends and what can be done to help him. I don't want to give it away, but it has a happy ending! Of course, the illustrations are wonderful too!
Everyone should get this book!!
