Bonds Books

I haven't yet read this book but as a former student of Professor Cherry, I can state with confidence that if he wrote it then it has to be great.

Someone used this book to teach our adult Sunday School class. It was a wonderful! We sang some of the songs and enjoyed learning about the backgrounds which inspired the songs. This book would also be great for children's classes.

what I liked about the book was when Mr. Krabs put up all the posters and spongebob looked funny when he dressed up as a princess!

I RECENTLY READED: THE STAR CREEK PAPERS AND WAS NOT SURPRISE OF THINGS THAT WENT ON BACK IN THE DAY, FROM READING HISTORY, I'M 47 YEARS YOUNG AND ALSO THE GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER OF ISOM WILSON, MY FATHER MOTHER WAS OPHELIA WILSON, ONE OF ISOM DAUGHTER, I STAY WITH HER FAR ABOUT TEN YEARS AND SHE WAS A STRONG BLACK WOMAN, THAT I LOVED AND I WISH THAT SHE WAS STILL HERE IN MY LIFE, I OFTEN WONDER OF HER. BUT WHO GIVE PEOPLE THE RIGHT TO DO SUCH THINGS TO OTHERS, THERE IS ONLY ONE MAN THAT JUDGES ONES PATH.I RATE THIS BOOK A 10 AND SHOULD BE IN SCHOOLS ACROSS THE USA, BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE HATE START. Tattered and Torn


In Tattered Bonds, Jean Cush Love explores family bonds that are tattered by child molestation. Eleven-year-old Stephanie Barnes life as a child comes crashing down when she is molested at such a tender age. What do you do when your molester infiltrates his life into every aspect of your life? tired of living with the terror, Stephanie try's counseling to try to get a grip on the downward spiral her life has taken. She must endure counseling to try and save her marriage. Stephanie learns that in order to heal she must bare her soul at the risk of hurting those closest to her heart. All her personal relationships are damaged because of one horrible day in her life.

I enjoyed reading this book as it not only focused on the damage that was caused by the molestation it also focused on the healing process. This is an issue that we hear more and more about in today's society and it must be properly addressed. The author did an excellent job of blending the lives of the characters in this book. When I first picked this book up I thought it would be another book written for drama's sake, but I was pleasantly surprised. The author also did a good job of tying up the all of the loose ends, she revealed why each characters acted the way that they did. I would love to read more of this authors work.

My favorite is an excerpt from Richard Brautigan's The Cleveland Wrecking Yard , entitled "Used Trout Stream For Sale. Must Be Seen To Be Appreciated." Here's a taste of what you'll get:

"...I'm curious about the trout stream you have for sale. Can you tell me something about it? How are you selling it?"
"We're selling it by the foot length. You can buy as little as you want or you can buy all we've got left..."the salesman said.
"...What kinds of animals do you have?" I asked
"We only have three deer left," he said.
"Oh...What about flowers?"
"By the dozen," he said.
"Is the stream clear?" I asked
"Sir," the salesman said, " I wouldn't want you to think that we would ever sell a murky trout stream here. We always make sure they are running crystal clear before we even think about moving them."
"Where's the stream at?" I asked. "I'd like to take a look at it."
"It's around the back," he said. "you go straight through that door and then turn left until your outside. It's stacked in lengths. You can't miss it. The waterfalls are upstairs in the used plumbing department."
On my way back to where the trout stream was piled, I found the insects. They were inside a prefabricated steel building that was selling for eighty-cents a square foot. There was a sign over the door. It said INSECTS."

Good stuff!

Two books in one and a great surprise. The surprise was how satisfying the stories were. Neither story left you feeling like you missed something, these were two complete stories that were interwoven together. Now i'm looking to see if some of the characters have their own books somewhere. These stories were great and the characters were wonderful. Been a long time since i actually laughed out loud while reading a romance.
