Two books in one and a great surprise. The surprise was how satisfying the stories were. Neither story left you feeling like you missed something, these were two complete stories that were interwoven together. Now i'm looking to see if some of the characters have their own books somewhere. These stories were great and the characters were wonderful. Been a long time since i actually laughed out loud while reading a romance.

Victoria Phillips eagerly anticipates the birth of her baby, even if she is not carrying the child. Instead, a pregnant teen has agreed to allow Victoria to adopt her child. With the expected day less than a month away, Victoria prepares a nursery, inviting a contractor to provide a bid. She never expects Jake Galeno to show up. Years ago he took her to her senior prom and she has never completely gotten over her teen crush. But the years have not necessarily been kind to him.

For reasons he refuses to reveal, Jake has traded his gun for a hammer. But this a job he best finish quickly if he wants to put an end to sleepless nights, vivid dreams and a hungry need for Tori. She is a forever kind of girl and with a baby coming certainly would want a wild fling, which is all that he has to offer. Albuquerque saw to that when he was still on the force. Indeed, Jake believes that he has been broken into a thousand pieces and his is a solitary road.

Author Karen Rose Smith brings her enchanting gift for weaving memorable romance to THEIR BABY BOND. Smith does not shy away from tackling the most challenging of emotional situations, which presents her tales an opportunity for poignancy and healing that has become her trademark. Certainly, THEIR BABY BOND showcases this gift with an unwed mother and a hero with a painful secret. Add this one to you keeper shelf. THEIR BABY BOND comes very highly recommended.

It's All Time High

Wow! What a great book. This collection of Bond songs really give you an All Time High. I found that the level of the music was perfect for me. Not only can you play the songs to your heart's content, but they include the words to the songs, so you can sing along too. They also have awesome pictures between the songs, which really give it the James Bond attitude. I gave it a five, because I felt that the level, pictures and songs were chosen perfectly for this book. The book includes the whole song, unlike other music books that cut it short. If I could live twice, I would definitely make the same choice again.

Long out of print and never available in mass-market paperback, this book collects 13 of Bond's best stories, most of them science-fantasy. My particular favorites are "Pilgrimage" and "The Sportsman", a low-key but effective story about a riding club. Bond is a masterful story-teller, with a subtle and definite wit.

The triplet brothers couldn't be more different, bound only by the commonality of their birth. The men learn of each other at the age of thirty-five, each holding a jagged, pie-shaped wedge that fits together for form a silver medallion leading to their common heritage. The Rocking R Ranch in Clear Water, Montana had been in their family for four generations. For the last fifty years or so the ranch belonged to Seamus Rafferty, who had thrown his daughter off the ranch and disinherited her. His daughter, their mother, died alone of cancer after giving her children up for adoption.

When lawyer Edward Manning notifies the triplets of the Seamus' death, they are shocked to learn they benefit from the will. But Seamus manages to reach out even from beyond the grave to exact his revenge on his daughter's children. The triplets only stand to inherit the Rocking R Ranch if they can live on the property for a year, along with Seamus' stepdaughter Willa Simmons.

Seamus' shocking treatment of his grandsons equals his cruel treatment of Willa. Disappointed that she wasn't a son who could inherit the ranch, he withheld his love and approval. Willa learned to run the ranch as well as her stepfather, and he promised that she would inherit. Consequently, Willa's devastated that Seamus didn't keep his promises to her. Angry and disillusioned, Willa resents the intrusion of the brothers, especially Zach, who's commanding presence replaces her own leadership on the ranch. Despite the magnetism between them, Willa refuses to yield to the growing attraction. As danger threatens, however, all the family members of the Rocking R Ranch learn the value of the ties that bind.

Ginna Gray pens a terrific story with THE TIES THAT BIND, weaving danger and intrigue into a fascinating tale of love and family. The depth of characterization and the smooth flow of the plot line demonstrates Gray's powerful story telling. The author manages to keep one step ahead of the reader, adding unexpected twists that lend the novel a startling originality. As each member of the family learns to trust the ties that bind them together, readers will love the multi-faceted characters and storyline. Very highly recommended.

A Must for Parents, Teachers or Parents-to-be

Awesome eye-opener. How does one become so focused and successful? Parenting... the bond between parent and child, unselfish and unconditional love.

I only wish that this book was a mandatory requirement for educators throughout this country. Bring back the arts in our schools... music, art, etc. Let our kids play in the playground again like they used to. Take away adult-controlled sports and replace that time with the joy of playing... kid-style. Remember playing kick ball in the street? My kids never have, but I did. There weren't any parents around to tell me how to play kick ball... there were no rules... we made them up as we played. It was total joy and total freedom.

Somehow... parents have gotten a bit lost in the past 20+ years. This book will show you how and why we should get it back.

Stay-at-home Mom's should read this as well. There is nothing more important than being there for your kids... and our society as a whole needs to stop pressuring parents to "GET BACK TO WORK".

Cartoons by a master that make fun of much of what is America

The best cartoonists possess an acerbic wit that illuminates while criticizing. As can be seen from the contents of this book, Simon Bond satisfies that definition. These cartoons make fun of much of what is America, groups that believe that they and only they know truth; gun toting admirers of violence and American reading habits are among the targets. My favorite cartoon by far was one that featured three obese men, one with a shotgun, standing by a set of road signs. The running caption on the signs was: "Welcome to Sequeeta county: All welcome, except: blacks, Jews, commies, hippies, Mexicans, Yankees and liberals, libbers, Catholics or homos. Plus anyone with a three figure I. Q." Satire via cartooning doesn't get any better than this.

An inspiring study of human development through mutual care.

I would like to recommend A TRADITION THAT HAS NO NAME to Amazon readers. The first author, Mary Belenky, is probably best-known for her co-authorship of WOMEN'S WAYS OF KNOWING, which described a model of women's development of "self, voice, and mind." TRADITION explores how presumably powerless, "voiceless" women have learned to speak out in ways that have changed their own lives and their children's lives, and have had lasting impact on their communities.

This is really three books in one. The first explores the Listening Partners project. It demonstrated that poor, isolated, and marginalized women could nevertheless support each other in significant growth and change, when brought together in community. The second examines several women-created community-based organizations that have not only improved the lives of participants, but by drawing on the ideas, talents, and persistence of their members have also contributed to social change.

The third explores how women who were either frankly excluded or subtly ignored by their local power structures supported one another to become leaders in the struggle for change. Though some of these groups had one or a few visionary women acting as the original catalysts, they are noteworthy for *not* creating hierarchical power relations. Governance, to the extent that it exists, is shared; all are welcome, all are valued, all contribute in whatever ways they can. This collaborative, affirming process enables women to think in new ways about the challenges they face.

Quoting liberally and effectively from the experiences of scores of diverse women, this book documents how individuals and communities can develop and change when women gather and share their ideas and talents--talents which many do not realize they have, until they are valued by the collective.

Anyone interested in women's issues, alternative leadership styles, or human development, or who wants to empower others, or who holds a vision of a society in which ! all have voice will want to read this elegant, stirring book.

Wagner wanted to write music for the revolution. Mark Berry reminds us of this in an exciting new book that catapults us back to the heady turmoil of nineteenth-century political thought. Wagner was using the ancient myth of the Ring to dramatise the struggle of deadening powers of technology, economics, law and bourgeois morality with the eternal human spirit of freedom and love. Mark Berry's treatment of this shows he is the most important new person writing today about Wagner. Anyone wanting to think seriously about Wagner and his milieu must read Berry's important new book.

Uncommon Friends: Celebrating The Human-Animal Bond is a gentle memoir of the love shared between an animal lover and her four-legged canine and feline friends. In Uncommon Friends, Julie Adams Church reflects both on the joy of living pets and the memory of loved animals passed on. The result of these insightful commentaries and nostalgic reminisces is a moving, compelling testimony that will strike a kindred reflection in fellow animal lovers.
