This story is so outrageous that its sad to be true. Mr. Campeau is directly responsible for much of what we see and don't see today in the department store industry, especially industry behemoths and the disappearance of once celebrated stand-alone department stores. It is a warning for investment bankers, private equity buyers, and corporate buyers who have quickly forgotten how the excesses of the 1980s came crashing down, as well as providing a solid foundation the department store retail sub-sector. To top it off, it is a good, well written, and entertaining story.

"Goldfinger" has always been one of my favorite James Bond novels from the pen of Ian Fleming. I have read it several times through the years and I still return to it. It is just so well written with Fleming's unique style that the words linger in your mind forever. Good book. Great cover on this SIGNET edition.

Goochland County, Virginia, was carved out of Henrico County in 1728 and was the parent, direct or indirect, of the following nine other Virginia counties arranged in order of formation: Albemarle, Cumberland, Chesterfield, Amherst, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Powhatan, Nelson, and Appomattox. The Goochland County marriage register upon which this work is based was originally compiled by the staff of the Virginia State Library from marriage bonds and ministers' returns, with an admixture of marriage references in Deed Books and Order Books for the period concerned.

Mrs. Williams' transcription of the register is a convenient reference tool, referring to some 3,000 brides and grooms and to another 2,000 associated persons (parents, sureties, and witnesses) mentioned in the register. The marriages are arranged alphabetically by the surname of the groom, with the date of the bond, name of the bride, names of parents, witnesses, and sureties, date of the marriage, name of the officiating minister, and page number of the original marriage register. There is a separate index to brides and another to all other persons mentioned in the text, so that, for research purposes, virtually nothing is wanting.

The Graded Spanish Reader series begins with simple words and phrases in the present tense and proceeds through the five books increasing the vocabulary and the verb tenses. Many of the stories are edited versions of stories by Spanish writers. The only caveat is that some of the words are particular to Spain and a little outdated as to modern Spanish (American) useage (the books being printed from the middle to late 1940's), but the sentence structure and grammar are not outdated. I like the books a great deal and would recommend them to any one beginning the study of Spanish after learning only some basic vocabulary and grammar.

Excellent Tool For Learning Quickly

My daughter learned all of her colors in just two days with this method! She even recognized the words that stood for each of them. After struggling for weeks with M & Ms, putting colorful objects in our environment, and experimenting with electronic gadgets, I can't believe how its simplicity and straightforwardness could be so effective.

Since beginning with the book, I have successfully taught this method to two different children with very different learning styles. It strikes at the baseline where most children learn best.

Kudos to this author for making learning not only fun, but quick.

"Hadi's Journey" is a poignant, but uplifting tale. I enjoyed it. Wow, what a story. The fact that it is based on actual events makes it even more poignant and memorable. She did an excellent job of making the reader root for Hadi. I felt like when I finished, I needed to go get a cup of cold, refreshing water.

This book is well written by the authors, and it includes some latest development in the field, like intensive exposure treatment for panic, and the application of Acceptance and commitment therapy in depression and work works. It really broadens our knowledge and use of CBT in our clinical practice.

There's no better source for insight on the new-since-1997 Treasury Inflation Protection Securities [TIPS]. Brynjolfson runs one of the largest TIPS funds. Fabozzi is a well-known commentator on investments and fixed income specifically. Want details of CPI seasonality, integrating TIPS in mean-variance optimization, etc.? It's here. Also includes coverage of international TIPS-equivalents.
